Being home also allows me to spend much needed time with your pet, especially if separation anxiety is an issue. I will take multiple pets from the same owner. I want your pal(s) to have the best experience at our home. I stay at home the majority of the time. One of my three dogs are crate trained. I have experience with crate training if your dog is used to a crate upon leaving or at night. I have a separate 3rd bathroom that I have always used for my own dogs in case they need to be put up a while upon leaving briefly. If your little guy or gal is shy, no worries I have all the patience needed for that. If he/she wants to stay away from the others, I have a separate large room (with TV for noise) and extra bathroom. My dogs love watching dog TV, and maybe yours will too. About: I have always had pets growing up, and have taken care of countless pets of all species, breeds, ages, and sizes for friends/family since high school. I love the challenge of winning over an animal that is hesitant around new people. The more stubborn they are to warm up to new people, the harder I try to win them over. I am available during the nights for in-home pet sitting, with the option to pop in during the day to let your pet out and for feedings. About me: Raised in the country surrounded by both family pets and farm animals, caring for critters is second nature to me. I am a doting grandma who lives too far away from my kids to see my grandchildren so I channel that attention toward my Australian Shepherd, Gumbo, and my new puppy, Boo, the Yorki-Poo. After I lost my husband and best friend I found the best way to cope is to help others and keep busy. If I can help you out with your dog or cat while you're away, let me know. I can use the extra income but also I need to feel useful. I keep my fee low. Tips are appreciated. I board at my home in the country near Dukedom, TN. Think of boarding here as bringing your dog to Grandma's house. There will be some spoiling and if pet parents permit, homemade dog cookies! Currently I am home all the time. Your dog will be with me and my dog while here. Gumbo (30 pound neutered male) likes to play fetch or frisbee and we do this daily. I feed my dog early morning (6-7) and early evening (6-7). I give a lot of outside time when weather allows. I give my dog a lot of attention and your dog(s) will get the same. We are a pack and your dog will be part of that pack when he/she stays with us. I live on 6 acres near Dukedom, TN. My large backyard has a chain link fence. If your dog likes to play ball or frisbee this is a great yard to do it in. In addition to the backyard, I have a large field that I keep a path mowed around just for walks but to go there your dog(s) must have excellent recall or be leashed trained very well. I don't want to be pulled around or have to struggle to hold them. Dogs really like going to the field. "No" is the word I use to stop misbehavior. If there is a different word you use, let me know. It is good to know what words/phrases your dog recognizes. It'd be great if you write those down and give it to me. I have carpet throughout my living quarters so PLEASE only housebroken dogs. I give numerous long outdoor time between 5 AM to 9 PM. Potty breaks are every couple of hours. Your pet must be vaccinated! Bordatella vacs are recommended every six-to-twelve months. if your dog frequents places with other dogs, get 6 month vaccine. My dogs are vaccinated. In the warmer months, it is very important that dogs have a flea and tick preventative or have some defense against these nasty bugs because both are out here. I keep grass mowed but they still get on the dogs so make sure they have a preventative. My dogs wear clothing treated with Sawyer flea/tick spray and I have had great success with that method along with a monthly prescribed medicine. Bring your pet's food/bowls/treats along with feeding instructions. Filling out pet profile in depth on Rover helps tremendously! It has an area for vet info and anything I would need to know about your dog can be on their profile! Gumbo has dog toys that he shares but if your dog has a fave, bring it. If your dog must sleep in a bed or crate, bring it. Sometimes a sweater or anything with your scent on it comforts a dog that misses his/her owner. You're welcome to bring that. If he/she has a brush that you want me to use, bring it. I can brush dogs but have no proper facility to bathe. In the summer, I have a small dog pool to cool off in and plenty of shade in the backyard. NO cell service out here so I do not carry my phone with me. I check my messages several times thru the day but I'm not like most that have their phone on them. It does me no good. Many rural people pay for cell service despite not getting it at their homes. I have a landline that works providing my internet service works. If there is anything else you need to know, do not hesitate to ask. I have my profile set to only take in three dogs at a time. I have two so I think five is enough. I am very attentive so rest assured I am keeping a good eye on them.

About: Ive taken care of pets since I was 6, growing up we had multiple different sized breeds (both cats and dogs)! I currently have a 4 yr old blue Heeler named Rhea, along with a 2 yr boxer mix named Gohan, and three cats Leo, socks, and Garfield! I prioritize exercise and enrichment, as a worn out, well exercised pet is a happy one! Whether it be walks, playtime, letting outside to potty,ect, I tailor to their each individual need! I also love incorporating puzzle toys, lick mats,ect to help pets decompress after play/walks.During/after our walks I love to take plenty of photos/videos for pet parents!
