We currently have three adopted pups from the Kansas Humane Society, and over the past three years we’ve also fostered 11 dogs through KHS — including 5 puppies. I provide this because I personally wouldn't make myself hold it, so I would never force a dog to do the same. I provide a very safe, relaxing environment where your dog will be treated like family. I approach care with a proactive approach, rather than reactive. This means I always keep a close eye on individual pet behavior as subtle cues can indicate how a pet is feeling at a given moment. Many pet owners miss out on these cues, especially if they aren't trained to look for them. Overall, this means I try my best to create a safe environment for and trusting bond with any animal I work with via positive reinforcement and never push past an individual's limits.
About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. Back in 2014, I had two ferrets, and they were such a joy—full of energy and personality! Since 2019, I’ve had my long-haired Dachshund, Chestnut, who’s been my constant companion. About: I lost my girl in late 2024. Pet sitting for others has really helped my heart to heal. I have always had a dog in my life but I am not yet ready to commit to my next soulmate. There's no sugarcoating it.. I'm a busy bee who works full time and has 2 kids, but rest assured I don't take on more than I can handle. I always discuss your pet's needs and schedules with you before accepting a job. I understand that it is not easy leaving your pets in the care of someone else, let alone someone you've just met! Your pets will get the utmost care with me by getting all the snuggles, all the treats, all the fetch/tug of war, or... all the leaving them the heck alone if *that's* more what they're in to. I am also comfortable giving a variety of medications and dog and cat CPR certified.
About: I am currently an educator at Sedgwick County Zoo and have experience working at doggy daycares and vet clinics. I have a true passion for animals and value respect and kindness above all else. I am also experienced in positive reinforcement training and am trained to safely break up dog fights, administer canine medication, and restrain a variety of domestic animals My schedule will be a bit unpredictable over the coming months, but please feel free to reach out! I can definitely say that mornings are always doable, but nights will be tricker to manage depending on the week. If your pet has a rigid feeding schedule and gets dinner after 5:30PM, you will probably need to look elsewhere for a sitter for any time slot prior to November 1st I always make sure to provide proper care and closely follow any instructions given. I am happy to provide walks, give dinners, administer medications, and provide any extra care that may be desired. With my experience working in a dog daycare, I am familiar with all sorts of special needs care for older and disabled dogs. I have a little bit less experience with cats, but I am happy to learn!
About: I have taken care of neighborhood dogs growing up and assist in caring with my family dog. I have 2 indoor cats right now who I adore. I am able to check on your pet in the evenings or in the early morning, and on the weekends Given my experience, I am very careful with walking dogs and I am sure to never walk them near a busy road and always look both ways before I cross the street.
