About: My family has had dogs, cats and fish my whole life. I often watch them when my parents are out of town and I have dog and cat sat for family & friends for years. I have helped a friends family with their cattle and pigs, but am not as experienced with livestock outside chickens. I’m currently available 7 days/wk I work as a server in my pleasant so whoever I’m staying with ideally should be able to go 6-8hrs between potty breaks! About: Growing up I was never without a pet. We always had cats and dogs. I have helped care for pets since I was a little girl and often watched animals for family friends. I had my very first dog at 18 who turned out to be deaf. Taking care of him was not easy but so worth all the love we shared. Sadly he passed away from Cancer in 2013. I live a few blocks from the Eudora Elementary school and love walking the trail that goes behind it. I find joy in watching my own animals run and play. About: About 50 years ago when I was 12 years old, I met a scruffy dog while I was out playing. It was immediate Love. I led the dog home and proceeded to beg my parents if I could keep the dog. Unfortunately, they said no and they didn't even want it in the house. That night it rained and I stayed out there with the dog while we took harbor under the back deck stairs. I named him Pal. The next day, a friend down the street was allowed to take Pal into their family and he stayed with him until he went to heaven. Pal played a very important role in my life. I realized my passion for animals. Also after that, my family began to appreciate animals becoming a part of our family. Years later after I purchased my own home, I came across another homeless dog. I took him in and with my vet, we nursed him back to health. From that point on, I always had at least 3 dogs in my home and usually a cat too. I have cared for many animals from family members, friends and coworker. In hindsight, I have cared for more than 30 animals in my life. In the last 25 years, I have worked as an in-home provider for children. I was also the primary family caregiver for my mother when she returned home from the assisted living facility after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and needed to be brought home before her passing. I was also primary family caregiver for my father when he moved in with me and my daughter due to complications with diabetes and dementia before his passing. I am divorced and live alone, I am home 95% of the time and I rarely travel. I am available everyday of the week throughout summer because I have to be here for my child care and my animals. I have been doing in-home childcare/preschool for 25+ years. Due to my passion for dogs, I have joined Rover to provide care and boarding for dogs. The family room is now mostly dedicated for the dogs. The floor is padded, they can get on the 3 couches and chairs and there are several beds on the floor for their comfort. They have access to see out the back windows and out the back doorway. I have a large backyard that has been divided with a fence. There is the small yard dedicated for the children and a much larger area for the dogs. It is large enough for running and throwing balls - The back fence in both areas is open enough for the dogs to see and chase the school kids and trucks as they go by. My dogs favor the fire trucks and emergency vehicles that go by which is pretty often since the station is right down the street. They will usually stand out at the fence howling with the alarms as those vehicles go by. I scoop daily and I have the yard sprayed regularly for fleas, ticks and mosquitoes.

About: Ya know that child that has a heart for anything living? That child that wants to nurture even the wooly caterpillar or the slimy toad? Well, that was me and I’m still that child at heart today. If there was a stray within a 5 mile radius of my home, we’d find each other and become family. To this day, if I see an animal in need I cannot turn away. At the age of 11 I began sitting and walking my Aunt Linda’s Pekingese, Toyboy. Toy and Auntie taught me from a very young age the importance of keeping animals safe and respecting their personal boundaries as well. Animals ARE family members and should be treated as such. I’ve spent ample time as a volunteer in local rescue shelters, fostered adoptable dogs in my home and have always had at least two pets of my own consistently (the most at one time was six, and, honestly, it was a little slice of heaven to me). My personal experience as a pet mom has taught me many things. The good, the bad and the ugly. I’ve managed flight risks, diapered seniors, enforced the cone of shame, nursed wounds and stitches, cleaned up many a pet mess (from both ends) and administered medications. If a pet requires it, I’ve likely done it! One of the best and worst parts of being a pet mom is watching our babies grow older. As they age they change and need even more patience and love. There’s a special place in my heart for the older pets and I’m happy to patiently provide anything they need in your absence. A person is only as good as their word, and if you chose me to care for your babies, you’ll have my word that I will treat them as my own and give them the best of care and attention until your return. After retiring early from my career at 48 I’m finding I have more time on my hands than I can fill and I’d love to spend my extra time providing service to animals in need. Animals bring me a level of joy unsurpassed by any other activity I endeavor. Simply put, they make life worth living. They make me laugh, and laughing is truly the best medicine. I understand the importance of pet safety. I’ve had several personal pets that were lifetime “flight risks” (runners) so I know the importance of keeping a watchful eye on them every moment. Walking is a favorite past time and I’d enjoy the company of your fur babies. I’ll be happy to walk pets, check in on them throughout the day as needed, sit with them if they need more attention or administer necessary medications (I will not administer pills to cats). Having had several senior pets and a dog with cancer that I treated holistically for a year, has made me keenly familiar with senior and special needs pet care. Whatever your pet needs, I likely am able and willing to provide.
About: I have had dogs my entire life and seriously don't know a life without them. I have two stubborn, little dachshunds who think they're in charge most of the time. They also have two human sisters who they are very overprotective of (they’re 8 years old and 1 year old). My oldest dachshund had surgery for IVDD a few years ago so I am familiar with administering oral medication and providing needed crate rest. I have experience in taking care of puppies all the way up to the more cranky and older dogs. My husband and I work opposite schedules so there will always be someone home with your pup. I'm responsible, reliable, and I promise to treat your fur babies as if they were my own! For boarding, the amount of time your dog is left alone will be very minimal since my husband and I work opposite schedules. I have my dogs to take care of too so I’m used to caring for pets. For drop in visits, I can only do so before 7:30am and after 5pm, unless it’s a weekend. My availability can vary on weekends so just reach out and I’ll see if I can help! About: My family has had dogs, cats and fish my whole life. I often watch them when my parents are out of town and I have dog and cat sat for family & friends for years. I have helped a friends family with their cattle and pigs, but am not as experienced with livestock outside chickens. I’m currently available 7 days/wk I work as a server in my pleasant so whoever I’m staying with ideally should be able to go 6-8hrs between potty breaks! About: I've been taking care of all kinds of babies since I was a little girl. From bottle feeding bunnies and kittens to reptiles and horses. I usually always have some kind of a rescue at my house whether it be a foster dog or a some off the wall duck someone brought to me. I take care of them all as they were my own. My true passion is training though! My father has always trained his bird dogs as well as others and I've just always enjoyed seeing what different breeds can do/pick up on. Growing up with dogs made it an easy decision to adopt a deaf pitbull almost 8 years ago, who my husband and I lost this summer to cancer. As a former pit bull mom, I understand how challenging finding people who take safety and trust seriously can be. In my home I will always provide a safe space for animals - both physically and emotionally. I won’t ever force your pet to socialize or play, and I will follow their lead and comfort level in order to build trust with them. I have both medium and large sized dog crates, plenty of blankets, and pet beds as well as the ability to allow animals on the furniture. I do not have a fenced in back yard so I will take them out for potty breaks on their leash and on walks around our neighborhood or to a park depending on your preference. I know my neighborhood well and will always put your pets safety first!
