“We will definitely use Melody again- you will not be disappointed! We have a 9 month old golden doodle and decided to take a last minute trip. We have never used a boarding service before, so I was extremely nervous! Upon booking, we spoke with Melody, who was quick with her responses, she explained her background (30 years of dog sitting!), the layout of where the dogs stay, and her daily routine with them. We felt she was a good match for our expectations. We arrived at her location, and felt a huge sense of relief! Melody has safe drop off/ pick up procedures, she has multiple gates you have to go in/ out of, and a large area in the back for the dogs to run and play. She evaluated Charlie and reassured us she was in good hands. We received a text 5 minutes after drop off that Charlie was happy and had already made a few puppy pals. With our overly excited, crazy dog I was expecting to get a phone call asking us to pick her up-NOT AT ALL! We are very happy with this experience and in fact, we spoke with Melody about bringing Charlie a few times durning the week for daycare. She is reasonably priced and truly cares about each pup! Only negative was, we did not get to see the atmosphere of where the dogs stay inside, but this is Melody’s house, so we respect that.”

Sherman is a bit much sometimes when he sees other dogs a bit reactive but Penny kept an eye on him and never went out without his leash and collar and made sure all dogs weren't out. About: Growing up, I’ve always been surrounded with pets and been given the opportunity to care for dogs numerous times. I am very patient with animals and genuinely find joy spending my time with them. After recently graduating from college and moving into a studio apartment, it has been an adjustment not being surrounded by pets. About: I've taken care of dogs my whole life! From little shi tzus to giant retrievers, excitable put bulls, and even large packs of dogs! Think yours are a handful? Try raising 12 Golden's at once! I've always been naturally good with dogs and I'm more than willing to work with the more stuborn ones so don't worry if your fur baby is a little standoffish. I am currently working another job so I'd prefer overnight bookings to be at least 2 weeks in advance but if my schedule happens to be free I'm happy to take short notice bookings as well. We stayed for a bit so that we could make sure our German Shepherd and Husky would get along with the other dogs and Melody was so accommodating, introducing each dog slowly and calmly. I also want to point out that Melody has a 5' fence which is one of the reasons we decided to go with her as our sitter. I would be happy to help you with it. My approach to pet sitting is to make the animal as comfortable and happy as possible, depending on what that particular pet needs the most. Some need petting and cuddles and some need playing and activity or both. It is stressful when their family is away and I make sure to become their friend. I am not there to correct behaviors but to give them the love and security that they're missing with out their family. I also have had folks come in and look after my beloved pets when going out of town and I know that it feels a little odd with someone coming into your home. For that reason I treat your home with the utmost respect. I don't go into any rooms with doors closed and do not help myself to anything that you have not specified. I check and double check all door locks and gates and am familiar with alarm codes. Your keys stay on my keychain at all times until they returned to you. I'm a mature and stable homeowner in the area with stellar local references. I will be happy to meet and greet you in your home to make sure we are a good compatible fit and can't wait to meet your fur babies! I mostly work from my home doing my online selling and crafts so have full time availability for pet and house sitting in your home. Visits, walking and even overnights are available. If I am staying in your home while you are away I will periodically leave to manage my home and pets but never more than 4 hours. I am have nearly full availability the next couple of months, so please reach out and I should be able to accommodate any time frame. I will abide by all house and property rules for the animals safety which includes leashes, fences, walking paths. I am happy to work with owners on what they are most comfortable with. I do not bring pets inside my home as my cats are usually not friendly to that! But I am always happy to stay at others homes.
About: Taking care of dogs is my passion in life. I currently own 2 dogs, an elderly hound and a young shepherd. My love for these two made me decide to have a career in working with and training working line dogs. This career path has given me a lot of experience with dogs of all types. Whether you dog is "hard to handle" or "easy going", I will be the perfect sitter for you. My entire world revolves around dogs. On days that I'm not working with my work dog or caring for someone else's pet, I am out training my own dogs. This is my passion and dream career, and nothing makes me happier. I like to care for pets at their own home. Being in their own home and following the same routines will make them feel safe while you are gone and will build a sense of trust with me. Your pet's safety and happiness is my number one priority.

About: Pets are my world. I volunteered at an animal rescue for 8 years before I moved out of town. I had a 14-year-old rescue who was blind and diabetic. I gave him two injections a day and cooked his food every week. Let your pup be my new bestie. I currently do not have a set schedule so my schedule is pretty flexible to keep your babies company when needed even in short notice! I let them smell me each time and come to me when they are comfortable. I have no doubt they will warm up to me fast!
About: Alexis has an animal science degree and been caring for animals for over 10 years of all kinds. Heather has had a love and passion for animals since infant stage. Heather has experience with special needs dogs. We both work full time jobs but Alexis does not work on the weekends or over the summer. We always make sure your animals are top priority. We have a fenced in yard and four friendly dogs. We also have a house where we can split up animals if needed. We promise to provide the best care for your dogs like they were our own. Alexis currently works in the oldham county schools but has summers off. Heather works full time but is home in the evenings and the weekends. We always take care of the animals in our care at top notch. We treat your animals as they were our own. We offer many pictures, video chats, or any special request you may have. If I am watching animals in your home I will always make sure your home is exactly how you left it and clean.
About: I adopted a rambunctious shelter cat 5 years ago. She’s a wild child with a big personality! And I took in a stray cat about 2 years ago, who needed lots of care, including surgeries, food insecurity behaviors, etc. I’ve cared for cats my entire life, but these 2 girls have taught me how to handle the extremes. I am very knowledgeable about cats and their needs, and I can promise you, your baby will be taken care of as if they were my own (aka like perfect princess angels that I’d go to war for) I work from home, so I can immediately take care of any and all needs. I frequently check on my 2 cats, and have no issue stepping away from my desk if needed. In my home: My 2 cats have their own bedroom, catered to their playtime and nap time. They have free rein of the house, and are very welcoming to other cats. They are up to date on vaccinations and vet care, and they do not go outside for their safety. In your home: I will treat your pet(s) as if they were my own, with kindness and patience. I will follow your routine. I will be sure to change my clothes and take off my shoes to avoid any anxiety from smells of my own pets.

“We will definitely use Melody again- you will not be disappointed! We have a 9 month old golden doodle and decided to take a last minute trip. We have never used a boarding service before, so I was extremely nervous! Upon booking, we spoke with Melody, who was quick with her responses, she explained her background (30 years of dog sitting!), the layout of where the dogs stay, and her daily routine with them. We felt she was a good match for our expectations. We arrived at her location, and felt a huge sense of relief! Melody has safe drop off/ pick up procedures, she has multiple gates you have to go in/ out of, and a large area in the back for the dogs to run and play. She evaluated Charlie and reassured us she was in good hands. We received a text 5 minutes after drop off that Charlie was happy and had already made a few puppy pals. With our overly excited, crazy dog I was expecting to get a phone call asking us to pick her up-NOT AT ALL! We are very happy with this experience and in fact, we spoke with Melody about bringing Charlie a few times durning the week for daycare. She is reasonably priced and truly cares about each pup! Only negative was, we did not get to see the atmosphere of where the dogs stay inside, but this is Melody’s house, so we respect that.”

“Penny and the whole family are super sweet and perfect to watch your dog my dog Sherman warmed up very quickly and even slept with her teenage son. Sherman is a bit much sometimes when he sees other dogs a bit reactive but Penny kept an eye on him and never went out without his leash and collar and made sure all dogs weren't out. About: Growing up, I’ve always been surrounded with pets and been given the opportunity to care for dogs numerous times. I am very patient with animals and genuinely find joy spending my time with them. After recently graduating from college and moving into a studio apartment, it has been an adjustment not being surrounded by pets. Through Rover, I’m excited to not only help others, but also to find fulfillment spending time with pets. Although I work a 9-5, I am willing to make plenty of time before or after work to accommodate your needs. I am a morning person, so I would be more than happy to take your dog on an early morning walk or be there to let them out. I also will be able to take care of them in the afternoon. My weekends are free to help at any time. You can trust me with your pet because I treat animals with the same amount of respect that I’d treat any person.
