I took care of a Yorkshire, who was pregnant, she went into labor at my house, and my mom and I delivered three little babies they came out every forty minutes. I have given daily medicine and injections to miniature pinschers, German shepherds, and Boston terriers. I have walked large dogs and small. I love sharing a bed and chair with all breeds. After each visit I do disinfect before and after visit.Since working Rover I was left with 2 dogs and then 2 owner ask if I can keep their or found a home.I found homes for the 3 dogs and kept the last one due to having really bad anxiety she needs lots of love and training.Out of the 4 dogs 2 of them I still give updated the other 2 were just left but the new owner send me updates so I do this really out of my heart.I try my best to make you an your furry one comfortable thru out their stay.

I helped my mom run a cat rescue for over 8 years (that includes waking up every 2 hours to bottle feed, giving medication, handling moody kitties, cleaning up constant messes, etc). Since then, I've been trusted to pet sit for friends, coworkers, and family members. About: I have had animals all my life, especially dogs amongst a few small pets. I have two dogs myself and I am training all of them with basic commands. I have 5 years of experience in training American pitbulls mixes to have as pets around children and other small animals. Something that sets me apart from others is that I recognize dogs and cats behavior such as signs of discomfort. I have personal experience with raising and caring for dogs of all sizes. I want animals to be comfortable, safe, and healthy. This may be disconcerting for owners that expect their pet to have free roam. I would expect multiple walks and sleeping in their dog beds considering the pets disposition as well as updates about pet stay. For house sitting, I will be willing to adjust prices if my own dogs are allowed to accompany me (not required). I am currently doing delivery services such as Grubhub and Doordash so I set the times I work. I have a flexible schedule and do not leave my home very often. I have 2 small dogs that are playful and dog friendly. I do not have a fenced yard, but I do use the long tie out leashes and outdoor playpens. I recently made a potty area for my dogs. I clean and disinfect it multiple times a week with natural products.

About: I worked full time for a shelter and loved working with every animal there. Meeting them at their level so that their needs were completely fulfilled was my passion. Whether they were high or low energy, dim or bright, friendly or not, I thrived on figuring out what would make the the most adoptable and what would make them most comfortable in the harsh shelter environment. It was a difficult and demanding job at times especially when I needed to provide first aid or medication/therapy for ailing animals but I always enjoyed coming home knowing I did something that meant something to those parent-less pets. I also had the lovely opportunity to work the social media for the shelter and take photos and videos of each animal to best display their personalities to the wider public who wouldn't normally see them otherwise. I currently work part time with very flexible hours so I am frequently available to provide service to both my own pets and others. I find it very fulfilling to be able to make time for my own furry friends! Working in a shelter environment I often met many animals at their lowest when they were beyond scared and upset. I got exposure to many dogs and cats that were horribly unadapted to life around people and had personalities on either end of the spectrum. During the five days we were away, Mariah sent daily updates with photos and a diary of our dog’s activities, which gave us so much peace of mind. She followed all of our care instructions perfectly and even washed the blanket in our dog’s kennel before returning her to us, such a thoughtful touch! When we got home, our dog was calm, happy, and completely herself—no uncustomary behaviors at all. We plan to book Mariah in September again. Highly recommend!”

Routine is key. I have attended local training centers/classes for support. I am a certified foster for Humane Indiana, Munster, IN. I have experience with senior dogs as I have lost 2 senior dogs in the past, age 13 and 14. I will accommodate your pet as needed inside and outside of my home. I have 1 acre of land to exercise, fenced in area, inground pool with splash pad area (if they like to swim, otherwise, access is fenced off). I am willing to FaceTime/communicate with pet parent as needed! (I know how hard it is to be away from our pets). I am an ex-School Counselor who left the field of Education after 16 years. I assist husband with our business but my days are flexible to accommodate boarding bookings. Pets stay indoors. I have a fenced in area with a doggie door for in-out access to grassy area. I also have a crate if needed. Willing to feed your pup as instructed, take walks, and supervise always! If needed or desired, I have the ability to separate my dogs from yours. All my dogs are up to date on vaccinations, heart guard and are friendly. I would recommend a visit to my home with pet prior to boarding to allow your dog to get to know me, put your mind at ease, and ensure it’s a great fit for them!
“April was amazing with Korra! She had such a fun time and was clearly so loved during her stay. We got pictures and updates everyday. Again, could clearly see how much fun she was having! This was Korra first 4th of July as well, so we weren’t sure how she was going to react to the fireworks. April did an amazing job at letting us know what she had planned and how she was going to create a safe and calm environment for the dogs. We got pictures and updates on how she was doing/did. I am so glad Korra spent her first fireworks season with April. She was so well cared for. I could not recommend April more.
