I appreciated Destinee's flexibility with our pick-up time (I had initially booked for the following morning but it made more sense for us to pick them up on our way through as we were heading south to Bloomington - our timing was a bit later than she would have preferred but she graciously worked with us). We received photos of the dogs both inside the house and outside in the backyard on the first three days of care, and a written description of how they were doing on the first day. The home and yard seemed nice and I really appreciated not needing to bring bowls/ beds/ extra items as she provides everything. The only tips I would have for a better "pet parent" experience would be to be more consistent with writing about how each day went, and possibly showing off some of the house/yard upon drop off. Since we don't live close by, a meet and greet or advance tour wouldn't have made sense for us anyway. I feel like our dogs were in good hands with Destinee and her husband. I have sat many people’s animals within my family and friends and I even have a dog and cat of my own! I work part time at Amazon, so I’m only gone for a few hours in the mornings. The rest of the day I usually spend with my pets, and/ or with yours! I care for pets in my home/ other people’s homes by making sure they’re fed, their water is clean and they have had plenty of play time with me or other animals, and of course, lots of cuddles!! (If they like cuddles.)
About: I have my own dog. I've grown up with dogs. I worked at a pet store when I was a teenager, and have house/pet sat before. Although, I'm not a vet, I'm observant and will keep an eye out for issues that concern you. Pet health is important. That includes nutrition and grooming. I know some think there is such a thing as over involved pet parents, I think they're family and should be treated as such. I volunteer at my church every Thursday, Backpack Program fifth Wednesdays (when they occur) and Orphan Grain Train every other month on the third Thursday. Otherwise, I take care of my dad who has COPD. I have to be home to cook for him. And take care of my own dog. Eventually, I will allow dogs to stay with me overnight, but I want to make sure my dog and said dogs get along. So that is my availability. I have a pitbull mix. She is very good around other dogs. Especially after she gets to know them. She's not aggressive, just tends to hump when excited. All dogs will need a leash if they are coming with me. I have walking trails in my community. I have no problem walking your dogs in them. Please make sure they have up to date tick meds. Also I live with my dad he will be petting and loving any pet that spends the night. My house is two story, so if you have a senior dog that needs help just let me know.

“We dropped our dogs on our way out of town Thursday morning and returned for them Sunday evening. I appreciated Destinee's flexibility with our pick-up time (I had initially booked for the following morning but it made more sense for us to pick them up on our way through as we were heading south to Bloomington - our timing was a bit later than she would have preferred but she graciously worked with us). We received photos of the dogs both inside the house and outside in the backyard on the first three days of care, and a written description of how they were doing on the first day. The home and yard seemed nice and I really appreciated not needing to bring bowls/ beds/ extra items as she provides everything. The only tips I would have for a better "pet parent" experience would be to be more consistent with writing about how each day went, and possibly showing off some of the house/yard upon drop off. Since we don't live close by, a meet and greet or advance tour wouldn't have made sense for us anyway. I feel like our dogs were in good hands with Destinee and her husband.
