About: Although I am only 19, I have had pets for as long as I can remember. My family and I have a total of 6 pets- 3 dogs and 3 cats! We have fostered and adopted our fair share of animals, all with different stories! One of our dogs is an amish labor rescue, one of my cats is blind, and another only has 3 legs!! While all of our pets now come from a different and difficult situation, it has been a reward and privilege to love and take care of them. I am familiar with hyper and untrained dogs as we have had 2 since they were puppies and they still are a bit crazy to this day! About: As you probably saw from the headline, I have recently started to dog sit for friends and family... And it just turns out that I enjoy it. Granted, these dogs are well behaved, and have been raised well. I grew up with parakeets, and I still have them. I like most pet animals, and I want to continue to learn more about how to best take care of them. As I am still learning how best to take care of dogs, it is important to me that we would do a meet and greet before deciding if we are a good fit for each other. I am not a dog trainer by any means, so please be understanding of that, and please be realistic. I am here to hopefully walk or sit for your dog, and I will always do it to the best of my ability - but I will need to be shown how you do things with your dog, and what to expect. As an example, the first dog I sat for had a tendency to dart towards the front door of the house I watched, so I had to be extra careful when going in and out of the house. As a bird owner, I check on them before work, and multiple times after work. When I have sat for dogs, I will feed them in the morning and walk them before work. After work, I would walk them again, as well as check on their water and food. The dog I am sitting for next (which is a family member's dog), I will kennel him at night, as well as when I am going to work. This is at the owner's request. Same idea on schedule for walking him before and after work as well. I am not a host, so this will depend on how your house is setup, as well as if the dog is used to the routine. For a more specific example though... When I sat for a friend's dog recently, I let him sleep on the same bed as me, which was a very new experience. (Would you believe that it tried to climb in my sleeping bag, too?) I did this for the comfort of the dog, even though it wasn't something that would have been my preference. I also made sure to check and top off his water and food about twice a day. Anything else that you expect should be discussed with me, so that we can have similar expectations and be on the same page.

About: Together, Julian and I have a long history of taking care of pets. I've taken care of dogs (of all sizes) since I was very young, as well as Cats. My family has always owned large breeds (Golden Retrievers, Labradors, Great Pyrenees', etc.) but also have experience with medium/small dogs. Julians family has also had dogs his whole life, and he has played a care-taker role both for his parents dogs and for our 2 Chihuahua mix dogs named Theo & Honey. About: Hi! While your gone away you can be sure your dog will get the love and care of a full family, we are up at 7am for a health breakfast and by 9 we’re out to hike a 1.5 mile trail full of wild life and beautiful views for your pup to see and experience. By 11 we’re back home for a bit of rest before lunch. Then comes nap time! The long walk usually tires the doggies out. After a few hrs they are up again for more playtime, usually hands on with the family, games like tug and fetch. This leads us to dinner around 6 and a bit more attention before our 8:30 bed time. Every day your pup is with us is an adventure they will be sure to enjoy just as much as the vacation your taking! My wife works from home and I walk dogs and manage the boarding 24/7. It’s always been a dream job if mine to be able to spend all day taking care of dogs and now I’m finally living that dream! I have a huge fenced in yard but the dogs will only be out there to use the bathroom. Maybe later in the day for some fetch but mostly the dogs will be inside with us. Also our morning walk is about 1-2 hrs long and that take a lot out of the dogs leaving them easy to manage most of the rest of the day.

The yard has a fence around part of it, but it is still open, so if I take your pet outside to play, I will use a leash and keep them in the yard safely separated from any danger. The only other person living in the home will be my mother, who is also an animal lover, but is generally at work during weekdays.

I’m always the person everyone in my life comes to first to take care of their dogs/cats/birds/etc. when they’re leaving town, or just want someone to check in on the animals. My schedule is very flexible right now, so it’s easy for me to be able to drop in to check on your animals. I can usually make it out to your home within a few hours. I won’t be boarding animals in my own home, as I live in an apartment with two of my own cats, however I am always the first to think about safety in your home. Animals will always be leashed outside and if dogs are at all reactive we won’t be walking too near any other people/dogs.
