“Byron and his family were excellent hosts and did a wonderful job keeping Gilbert happy. From the minute I dropped Gilbert off, I knew he would be in good hands. I was kept updated throughout the week with pics and texts, and he answered any questions I had promptly and with assurance. I will definitely have Gilbert board with Byron the next time I need to, and would recommend him as a top sitter.”

“We wanted to express our sincere appreciation for your exceptional care of my anxious dog while we were on vacation. It was a relief knowing you kept him comfortable and safe, especially with his anxiety. We also really appreciated you keeping him separate from your cat due to my daughter's allergies – it showed a real dedication to his well-being and consideration for my family. The updates and photos you sent were so reassuring. Thanks again for going above and beyond! Will definitely take Cody back on our next vacation😊”

“Liz took the best care of our two dogs. One of our dogs is a bit nervous and she was great about the needs of each dog with different personalities. It was our first time to be away during the night without the dogs and they were perfectly fine with Liz making several stops throughout the day. We will definitely ask for Liz to care for our dogs in the future. She’s very good about communicating and prompt with all the requested visits. I highly recommend Liz. She is so nice and professional.”

About: Although I am only 19, I have had pets for as long as I can remember. My family and I have a total of 6 pets- 3 dogs and 3 cats! We have fostered and adopted our fair share of animals, all with different stories! One of our dogs is an amish labor rescue, one of my cats is blind, and another only has 3 legs!! While all of our pets now come from a different and difficult situation, it has been a reward and privilege to love and take care of them. I am familiar with hyper and untrained dogs as we have had 2 since they were puppies and they still are a bit crazy to this day! I am currently job searching so I can’t say what my availability will be like for the future but as for now I have no other commitments and am available whenever!! I am a very detail oriented person and realize that each animal has their own unique personality and routines. I am always open to learning about your fur babies and what they like or dislike. I love that each pet has their own quirks and I love being able to form relationships built on trust and respect!!
“MacKenzie is so good with my two cats. She gets them playing. She is so friendly and reliable. You feel confident in her ability to take care of your guys no matter what. Great pics and notes every day. She is a good choice for your pets too.”

“We’ve rebooked Teri to look after our cat a few times now and are always so happy with her service. Our cat loves her and she’s so communicative and helpful - she makes us feel completely comfortable leaving our cat for a few days as we know he’ll be well taken care of!”

“Kim did an awesome job taking care of our 4 cats and was very understanding of our one cat that is a bit ill right now. Great communication with her when we were gone and loved the pics she sent. I would definitely use her again when we go on a trip again. Thank you Kim.”

“Isabella did a great job caring for my two boys while I was away for a few days. She checked in daily with updates and adorable pictures - it was clear my babies took to her immediately which gave me such peace of mind. She was kind enough to water my balcony full of plants for me and kept the house super tidy, I could barely tell she was here it was so nice. Thank you Isabella for being so amazing!”

“Extremely happy with Christine. This is the first time I've had a drop in visit for my pets in 10 years. Christine reassured me and even came to visit my fur babies before. She brought an ease and I felt complete trust that they were in good hands. I was given many updates every visit and pictures. She was thoughtful and always on time. My pets were very comfortable with her. Which made my trip less stressful. I would definitely recommend Christine and I will happily recommend her and have her back again in the future.”

About: I am a big animal lover. I plan on treating and taking care of your sweet fur baby as if he or she or they are mine because that how I would want someone to take care of my fur babies. I understand the worries leaving them with a pet sitter because I am a pet owner and have had a lot of anxiety leaving my pet with a person even if it a person I know and trust. I can provide special care if needed I had blind fur babies before as well have had a lot of senior and puppies that needed a lot of attention , care and love. I have two shih-tzu one young (Gerber) and one senior( Toby). I require all pets be up to date with shots as well flea treated. I currently have a part time and only work about 2days a week. If that. Due to working short hours and day I am blessed being able to be home most of the time with my own dogs. As well be able to have this side hustle of taking care of people fur kids. I have a fenced back yard and currently saving for the fenced in front yard. I actually have a double fenced back yard section to help to get my own pets safe. I did it because I find my big back yard great for exercise and play time but I love having a decent side section double fence just for sense of security.

About: As you probably saw from the headline, I have recently started to dog sit for friends and family... And it just turns out that I enjoy it. Granted, these dogs are well behaved, and have been raised well. I grew up with parakeets, and I still have them. I like most pet animals, and I want to continue to learn more about how to best take care of them. As I am still learning how best to take care of dogs, it is important to me that we would do a meet and greet before deciding if we are a good fit for each other. I am not a dog trainer by any means, so please be understanding of that, and please be realistic. I am here to hopefully walk or sit for your dog, and I will always do it to the best of my ability - but I will need to be shown how you do things with your dog, and what to expect. As an example, the first dog I sat for had a tendency to dart towards the front door of the house I watched, so I had to be extra careful when going in and out of the house. As a bird owner, I check on them before work, and multiple times after work. When I have sat for dogs, I will feed them in the morning and walk them before work. After work, I would walk them again, as well as check on their water and food. The dog I am sitting for next (which is a family member's dog), I will kennel him at night, as well as when I am going to work. This is at the owner's request. Same idea on schedule for walking him before and after work as well. I am not a host, so this will depend on how your house is setup, as well as if the dog is used to the routine. For a more specific example though... When I sat for a friend's dog recently, I let him sleep on the same bed as me, which was a very new experience. (Would you believe that it tried to climb in my sleeping bag, too?) I did this for the comfort of the dog, even though it wasn't something that would have been my preference. I also made sure to check and top off his water and food about twice a day. Anything else that you expect should be discussed with me, so that we can have similar expectations and be on the same page.
“Nicole did an outstanding job taking care of my cat while I was away! She was consistent in making sure his food, litter, and other necessities were well taken care of. I really appreciated the regular updates and photos, which assured me that everything was going smoothly. My cat was happy and relaxed when I returned, and I could tell he had been in great hands. I highly recommend her and will definitely trust her with my cat again in the future!”

About: Together, Julian and I have a long history of taking care of pets. I've taken care of dogs (of all sizes) since I was very young, as well as Cats. My family has always owned large breeds (Golden Retrievers, Labradors, Great Pyrenees', etc.) but also have experience with medium/small dogs. Julians family has also had dogs his whole life, and he has played a care-taker role both for his parents dogs and for our 2 Chihuahua mix dogs named Theo & Honey. Julian and I both have experience with dog walking, and giving medication as well. My childhood Golden Retriever had several health issues in the past (allergies, skin issues, special diet, etc.) so I have been used to giving many different kinds of medications for many years. Your dog will be safe with us, and treated/loved like they are one of our own! Both of our schedules are very flexible and open to meet your pet care needs. As I am currently unemployed, I have a lot of time on my hands. We both have open availability during the upcoming months, perfect time to book with us for your upcoming vacations and travels. Please see our calendar for further availability. If you have any specific questions, feel free to reach out to us. We currently have 2 small dogs and a cat at home that are super friendly. We have a big fenced yard, a nice walking path near our home, and lots of toys. Creating trust with your pet is our number one priority! We'd be happy to play outside, play inside, and do whatever we can to make your pet feel happy and comfortable! We'd also be happy to discuss your pet's needs before walking or dropping in for a visit.
“Sunshine and family were so awesome! We have a senior dog who's a little particular and she made him really comfortable. We got lots of cute update pics and pickup and drop-off were smooth & easy. We are from out of state and couldn't meet ahead of time so we really appreciated the warmth and care that Sunshine showed to us and our pup.”

I also offer transportation services! I have quite a lot of free time as a full time nursing student! I’m outside everyday with my dog! I would love to find some doggy friends for my pup! I have a fenced back yard and a playful friendly dog to keep them company. The house is also dog proof! Dogs are absolutely welcomed indoors! “I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog Tommy received ! From the moment we arrived, Swagata made us feel welcome and at ease. Tommy can be a little shy at first, but he warmed up quickly thanks to the friendly and attentive caregiver. Throughout the day, I received photo updates showing Tommy playing, lounging , and getting lots of love. It was clear he was having a blast and felt completely safe and comfortable. When I picked him up, he was happy, relaxed, and ready for a nap — always a sign of a fun-filled day! I’m so grateful to have found a place where Tommy is treated like family. We’ll definitely be back! Thank you, Swagata, for taking such great care of my boy!”

About: Hi! While your gone away you can be sure your dog will get the love and care of a full family, we are up at 7am for a health breakfast and by 9 we’re out to hike a 1.5 mile trail full of wild life and beautiful views for your pup to see and experience. By 11 we’re back home for a bit of rest before lunch. Then comes nap time! The long walk usually tires the doggies out. After a few hrs they are up again for more playtime, usually hands on with the family, games like tug and fetch. This leads us to dinner around 6 and a bit more attention before our 8:30 bed time. Every day your pup is with us is an adventure they will be sure to enjoy just as much as the vacation your taking! My wife works from home and I walk dogs and manage the boarding 24/7. It’s always been a dream job if mine to be able to spend all day taking care of dogs and now I’m finally living that dream! I have a huge fenced in yard but the dogs will only be out there to use the bathroom. Maybe later in the day for some fetch but mostly the dogs will be inside with us. Also our morning walk is about 1-2 hrs long and that take a lot out of the dogs leaving them easy to manage most of the rest of the day.
About: I grew up with a dog and loved him very much. He passed away, and the family has not yet gotten another, but I miss caring for a dog. I love all dogs and cats of any size and any animal, for that matter. I am incredibly attentive to animals and always love giving them care, even when they are not mine. I am almost always home and able to pet sit through the day and overnight. I am currently in college, but taking classes online, so I am constantly available to tend to your pet's needs. I am a very active person who can take your pet on walks or runs more than once each day if need be. If your pet enjoys resting, I will also do it with them as I complete work on my computer and will pay close attention to them or snuggle with them if it's what they like. I will care for each pet depending on their specific needs, whether they need to have walks, use the bathroom often, or receive personal care. My home is very safe for pets, as it was already set up for a dog in the past with carpeted stairs and a yard to play in. The yard has a fence around part of it, but it is still open, so if I take your pet outside to play, I will use a leash and keep them in the yard safely separated from any danger. The only other person living in the home will be my mother, who is also an animal lover, but is generally at work during weekdays.
“Kim is patient and loving and Frankie enjoyed his long walk and time playing in the large fenced in yard. We are so happy that we found Kim to watch our puppy when we have family outings. Thank you so much!”

“We had a great experience with Chisato! She sent us many pictures and videos through the day, and we could see Charlotte was being well taken care of and loved! 🥰 we will definitely be using Chisato in the future!”

I understand the importance of trusting someone with your kiddo and am committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment.
About: I have a love for animals, if you're thinking I'm sure everyone says that but for me it's so true. Not only do I love caring for pets. I've even helped my neighborhood with feral cats and getting them the help the deserve. Look up on Facebook Winthrop Harbor Wild Cats! What does that mean for you? I'm passionate about caring for animals means I will love on and treat your special friend just as you would! My work is flexible and mostly at home. I like to go on walks daily which would fit perfectly for any pup looking for exercise! We have a large yard for easy potty breaks. I have two young children that wear out anyone willing to play. We have a medium crate if needed and a full basement with playroom.
About: Hi, I'm Chelly! I've always been an animal lover and have had the privilege of loving and caring for so many fur babies at Yuppy Puppy in Lake Bluff for about 2 years! I'm based in the Lake County and North Shore area, but if you're a bit farther out, don't worry, I'm always open to finding the perfect fit. Whether your pup needs a walk, your cat wants a friendly check-in, or you need someone to house sit while you're away, I am ready to help! I love working with animals of all ages and backgrounds, playful puppies, curious kittens, wise seniors, and even pets who need medications or a little extra love. I'm here to attend to your pets and your needs as an owner! :) I have a dog of my own, a sweet doodle named Bambi, and she ignites my love for dogs every single day. I know your pet is truly family and I promise to care for them as if they were my own, showering them with love and sending you plenty of photos so you always know how they're doing. 🐾 ♡ I have an extremely flexible schedule to fit all pet parent needs! I'm always willing to work outside this schedule for the right person, so don't be afraid to ask. :) When I’m house sitting, my goal is for your pet to feel like they’re hanging out with a friend, not just someone filling in. I pay close attention to the little rituals, favorite toys, bedtime snuggles, and those everyday quirks that mean so much to your pet. I’ll do my best to keep their world steady and familiar, so they can truly relax while you’re away. Your home will be treated with respect, and your furry companion will get plenty of love until you return. I always pay attention to detail, making sure doors are secure, gates are latched, and your pet can explore safely. Whether we’re out for a sunny walk or just lounging at home, I’m watching for every tail wag, ear perk, or sign that your pet needs something. With experience caring for both mellow seniors and energetic pups, I’m flexible and patient, ready to adapt to whatever makes your pet happiest. Your pet will always be treated like family! :)
About: I am a firm believer that our pets are our family, and each individual pet deserves individual care, respect and love! I am meticulous with details and ensure that a beloved pet’s routine is kept as consistent as possible under my care. I’ve owned cats since I was 8yrs old, and also had hermit crabs, Leopard geckos, and tarantulas. My family never had space for a dog, so I walked and played with my neighbors dogs while growing up. Once I reached my 20s, I’ve volunteered for years at no-kill shelters back in TN, trained on how to clean, socialize and care for dogs. I have just moved to Northern Illinois and wasn’t able to transfer my job up here. So I want to make my job caring for your family! I am available Saturday - Wednesday. I am very detail oriented and respect every pet owner’s instructions and wishes to the letter. Pets deserve consistency with their established routines! In the absence of instructions or an emergency, I have years of hands-on pet care to fall back on and use reliable judgement so your pet will always receive the best care possible.
About: Hello! I’m currently a pre-vet major looking to take care of some furry friends :) I recently completed a NAVTA approved Veterinary Assistant Training course where I received exposure to medical and clinical experience. Im an active person who loves being outside. Long walks are no problem for me if you have a super active and outgoing dog ! Making sure your pets are comfortable and safe is my number one priority. I’m able to be flexible based on the pet’s needs and wants.
About: I grew up with friends referring to my home as a zoo because we had so many pets! Being responsible for family pets at a young age taught me responsibility and how rewarding it is to care for a furry friend. I grew up to work at the medical center of an animal shelter and learned the skills to work with young to senior pets, outgoing and shut down, in n good health and poor. I treat my dog like my kid and will do the same for your pet I'm currently a full time parent to facilitate taking my son to various therapy appointments which allows a lot of flexibility in my schedule. I remember the stress of being at work and worrying about how long my senior dog had been home alone. I would love to help remove that stress from your life. I'm very particular about a sitter following instructions on how to care for my pup to make sure he is as safe and happy as possible. On walks I always ask other person parents to give us space to avoid any unnecessary negative interactions. Any instructions or preferences you have for your pet will be followed to the letter!
About: Hello! I’ve taken care of animals of all types for most of my life. I’m always the person everyone in my life comes to first to take care of their dogs/cats/birds/etc. when they’re leaving town, or just want someone to check in on the animals. I’ve always loved dogs and used to volunteer every weekend at shelters helping to take care of the dogs there. Reach out and I’d love to answer any questions you have! My schedule is very flexible right now, so it’s easy for me to be able to drop in to check on your animals. I can usually make it out to your home within a few hours. I won’t be boarding animals in my own home, as I live in an apartment with two of my own cats, however I am always the first to think about safety in your home. Animals will always be leashed outside and if dogs are at all reactive we won’t be walking too near any other people/dogs. If you have specific concerns just let me know and I’ll be happy to accommodate!
“Liliana was a lifesaver and my dog’s new best friend! I could tell from the moment I met her she has a place in her heart for animals. She is very responsible and trustworthy, and would respond quickly both while on the walk and before or after. We hope she’ll come back to see our Ragnar again!”

“Jennifer was great and we will certainly use her again. She communicates regularly and really loves our dogs. This is the first time we used an app to find someone to take care of our pups. It will not be the last. If I could give more than five stars, I would!”

“This was our dog, Bruce’s, second time staying with Dee for a long weekend. We feel so at ease leaving Bruce with her as she sends updates several times a day with pictures of him and lets us know how the day is going. We look forward to having Dee watch Bruce for future trips that he cannot tag along for. Thank you again Dee!!”

My pup came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well-loved. It’s hard to find someone you can truly trust with your fur baby, but Jennifer went above and beyond. “Moose is always so excited to go to Kim’s house! The second we pull in to the neighborhood, he knows exactly where he is. I know I can always trust Kim to take good care of Moose during his stay. So glad to have found a reliable and trusted dog sitter!”

“Chisato treated Casper and Gracie like they were members of her own family. She constantly kept us in the loop of their daily goings on with many pictures and movies! Casper and Gracie were having such a good time, I don't think they wanted to come home.😊”

“Ryan did a good job of taking care of our dog for a few days. He was a life saver as we needed to board last minute. After reaching out to Ryan he had some questions and concerns, but we ironed them out swiftly. Later that day our dog was at Ryan's. No issues, no worries, and we were able to enjoy our quick trip abroad. We look forward to reaching out to Ryan for our next boarding need, knowing we can leave worry free and our dog in good hands.”

“Rachel was absolutely wonderful with Dottie. Being new to the area and having to travel for business, I was very nervous finding a new sitter as Dottie has some extra needs in her older age. I appreciate Rachel’s updates and willingness to help in a time of need. Thanks again, Rachel!”

“Open & easy communication. My dog that is very hesitant of new people went up to Norma automatically and on her own. Norma followed my instructions for medication & being leashed. She eased my anxiety greatly for what I’d consider a worrisome dog (she is a runner) will be using again for our next trip. Thank you Norma!”

“Her family is always my number 1 choice to leaving my dog with. Her kids are always so loving and playful. Jennifer is very responsible and she is always willing to make sure my dog is comfortable. She constantly sends pictures to ensure my dog is safe and comfortable. Highly recommended”
