About: I’m an animal science major with plans to pursue veterinary medicine, and caring for animals—especially dogs—is truly what lights me up. During high school, I was the go-to neighborhood dog walker, caring for dogs ranging from large breeds to small pups, which helped grow my confidence and love for working with all kinds of dogs. I also have four years of hands-on experience in a busy dog daycare, where I’ve worked with pups of all sizes, breeds, and personalities—from energetic zoomie experts to shy cuddle bugs. I genuinely love getting to know each dog’s unique quirks and making them feel safe, happy, and loved. Whether it’s a long walk, playtime, or just some extra belly rubs, I treat every dog like they’re my own. My goal is to make your pup’s time away from you feel fun, comfortable, and exciting. I currently work at a dog shelter where my shifts are either from 7am-12pm or 4-9pm. I am happy to work around your pups schedule with ahead of time notice! Before, after, and during my break your dog will have plenty of time to potty and play. When I visit a clients home I give all my love and care to them to make sure they feel happy while the owner is gone. I focus on keeping their routine as consistent, safe, and comfortable as possible. I take the time to learn each pet’s schedule, including feeding times, exercise needs, medications, and any special instructions, so they feel secure and stress-free.

Our dogs were happy to see us, but went back in the house to say good bye to the family before saying good by to Kayla and her family. Thank you all for the care and love you gave our fur babies.”

“Melissa was my first choice for a week-long boarding. She treated Kit like a family! Kit gets to roam and social with Melissa’s dogs. Melissa sent pictures and communicated with me and I really appreciate that. I would definitely book with Melissa again.”

About: I have been around animals my whole life, and I have done dog and cat sitting a few times over the years for neighbors or friends. I’ve had cats and dogs in my home since 2014, and I am very comfortable around both. I currently have a full time job; I work primarily in the mornings with evening shifts thrown in here and there. I don’t do much outside of that, so I am pretty available otherwise. I want to keep all pets feeling comfortable, following their routines/schedule, and keeping them company (within their boundaries). I no longer live with my cats and miss them greatly, so I will make sure they receive extra attention, pets, and playtime (within their boundaries).
“Rachel was fantastic, and our Penny loved her! Rachel was very prompt with all of her communications, and she offered to come by and do a meet and greet before our appointment with her. We also appreciated her willingness to stop by for a second puppy visit after we found out we would be delayed getting home. Great young lady and a great puppy sitter!”

“Peggy is exactly the person you want taking care of your pets. She is patient, relaxed, and full of love! She has a dog of her own, Peanut, and offers to do an introduction before your booking to make sure all animals are comfortable. My days are somewhat unpredictable and Peggy was always accommodating and patient with my schedule. Maple would rush to her door each day in anticipation. We feel so lucky that Maple has been under such great care for the past 2 weeks!!”

“My dog has gone to Brittney and Cody's house for two visits now (each several days of daycare) and he absolutely loves it! Now when I pull into their yard, he gets excited and runs into their house. They are very kind hearted, loving, and responsible people who care for my dog just as they do their own. They were happy to accommodate a temporary soft food schedule and are so responsive. As a "dog mom" with high expectations, I can't recommend them enough.”

“Karen was so wonderful! I was in Bloomington for five hours to visit family for the holidays and needed a place that my dog could stay while I was with family. Karen was incredibly accommodating and a happy safe space for my pup. He is disabled and has really bad separation anxiety. He was able to make him feel loved and safe and continuously sent me pictures and updates on him. I highly recommend using him:)”

DROP IN VISITS: I come to your house to visit with your dog. What is done is dependent upon what you set up and what you need. About: Please only request if your dog is crate trained! They will only be in there briefly if I have to leave and overnight while sleeping (my two dogs take up most of the bed, so it is hard to fit a third unless they are tiny). I’ve been caring for/around animals my entire life. I have two small dogs and two cats of my own. Caring for them has taught me so much and made my love for animals stronger. Both my dogs and my cats are pretty laid back and enjoy sleeping most of the day. I am patient with any animal, and can adjust to any of their needs! I am currently working from home, so I can be available at any time. During my lunch breaks I usually take a walk with my dogs, or hangout with them in the backyard if the weather allows! I have a pretty big fenced in yard that is perfect for any dog to run around in! I can also provide lots of toys for inside, and the dogs are free to run around the house and play wherever they’d like. As for dogs or cats in your home, I am entertained easily and can sit and enjoy their company if they prefer a quiet environment, or I will play with them if they want to do that. I can adjust to their preferences.
About: I grew up on a farm with many animals. As a child, I had pet sheep, rabbits, dogs, cats, and cows. As an adult, I have always had cats. My 20 year old long hair cat just passed away in January. It was heartbreaking. I miss him dearly. We loved our guy so much. In his last 5 yrs, I spent many hours catering to his elderly issues. Medications and night yowling were issues that I happily took care of as he lived out his twilight years. I have a soft spot for all animals as they go through all stages of life :) I work from home and set my own hours, so my schedule is extremely flexible. I am open to many kinds of arrangements- one time sitting, a weekly routine, daily walks, weekends, etc. I am extremely fortunate to have a flexible schedule. My teen daughter and I live in a large 4 bedroom home, so we have tons of space to accommodate furry friends who need company. We do not have a fenced in yard, but our neighborhood is great for long walks. Our neighborhood has trails through the woods and a home owner’s association that maintains the trails. We have lots of fun walking the trails. I am an avid jogger/walker. I go out everyday, regardless of the weather. I have a very active lifestyle! We recently adopted a cat, but he stays in his own area on a different level of the house. He has claimed my daughter as his and lives in her room. When dogs come to stay with us, he typically stays in his room & pups never see him, although he has made friends with some of our regularly visiting pups 😊 I have a very flexible work schedule. When I do have to be away from home for work, I am gone about 2-3 hrs at a time. My daughter is at home often and also helps with pups. She is great with animals! We both like to take frequent walks throughout the day! In my home, I have a large open floor plan with tons of windows. During the day, I like to have pups next to me in my office, but some like to lay in prime viewing area of all the windows.

About: In addition to being a dog owner for eight years, I have a PhD focused on animal behavior. As an adjunct professor, I don't get as much time working with animals as I'd like, so I'm happy to provide care to your darling pets! I work part-time as a biology professor, so outside of the couple hours a day I'm in a classroom my schedule is very flexible. I do live in a remote location, so how often I can care for a pet will depend on driving time. I believe in making sure the animal feels safe and comfortable above all else. I am good with reading body language, and I let the pet set the pace in our interactions. I only practice positive reinforcement for training.

I’m a dental assistant full time on Monday-Thursdays 8am-5pm & Fridays 7am-12pm. I have a long lunch break from 12-1:30 and will be off work at 12 on Fridays. I am free during lunch, after work, and throughout the weekends. I have 2 friendly dogs that have their own room, so separation wouldn’t be an issue if needed, although they would love to play. We have plenty of space for crates, dog beds, & all their necessities. I live in a dog friendly community with a walking trail for easy walks.

“We needed someone to board our cat for a month while we waited for our apartment to become available. Amanda came and picked out boy up, extended his stay when we needed, and dropped him off for us! We can’t thank you enough.”

“We love Hailey! Our dog Hazel had some separation anxiety issues and she worked through them with her, plus made us feel at ease. She also gives needed medications for our pup! Hailey is so patient! ❤️”

“Keandra went above and beyond to make sure my dog had a good time. She also was very flexible with pickup/drop off times which was helpful since I had a flight early in the morning. She also gave my dog a free shower and made sure he got plenty of exercise and play time with her dogs. 100% would recommend Keandra”

“So incredibly grateful I found Melanie to take care of my boys for an extended weekend. She provided daily updates and tons of pics to ensure the guys were adjusting nicely to their vacation home. Definitely planning to use her excellent care in the future!”

“Rae and Dave were amazing with my dog! They made sure her every need was taken care of. They gave her lots of attention while I was away! I highly recommend them!!”

“Julianne was excellent with our dog. She kept us updated with pictures and videos several times during the day. Our dog was happy the whole time he spent there. Highly recommend Julianne”

“I 100% recommend Alysa!! She did an amazing job watching my high maintenance pup in her home while I was on vacation. She is incredibly kind, responsible, and my dog loved her. She followed all my instructions, including giving daily medications, to a T. I felt very comfortable leaving my pup with her and her dog Oatmeal. I definitely recommend Alysa and would use her again.”

“Amber was great with Luna, I noticed because Luna wasn't nervouse, normally she does. When we got back home she acted a little bit strange but I think is normal. Amber answered at all times when I texted her.”

About: I have been around dogs of my own and others for my entire 38 years of life. I grew up with having at least 3 dogs at once, then when out on my own for the last 10+ years, have lived with and spoiled at least 2 dogs at a time. I currently have 2 fur kids of my own, who are very loved and spoiled. That same kind of care would translate to any dogs I care for. I'm currently working part time while studying, so I will have plenty of time for your pups! I work 3 varying days a week currently, from about 9am-5pm. A lot of time is spent at home with my own pups, and that would translate to yours. I have a good sized fenced in yard, and can provide a separate space, crating or whatever is needed between your and my dogs! I also keep the back part of my house separate.
“Justin was phenomenal! Highly recommend! He even gave my boy a bath! He was home with him almost always. Someone was always with my pup. Very communicative. Prompt. Sends photos and videos. My pup had a great time!”

“Amy was wonderful to work with in watching our English Setter. She kept us posted regularly with how he was doing and he was obviously very comfortable in the pictures she shared! She was very helpful in working with us and making sure of his needs. Can’t say enough about the care Amy showed and we will be in touch with her for any future sitting needs. Thanks so much again Amy!”

“Kayla and her family made our dogs feel at home. They were well cared for, we got daily updates and pictures. I really appreciate knowing how they are while I’m gone. Our dogs were happy to see us, but went back in the house to say good bye to the family before saying good by to Kayla and her family. Thank you all for the care and love you gave our fur babies.”
