Big, small, medium, even tempered, wild, mellow- I absolutely love them all. I have a 12 year old lab, who has slowed down a lot. She is my everything. I find something about raising a dog from a young pup to an aging one, so very special and rewarding. If your dog is fast paced or likes to smell every blade of grass, I’m game. Rain, shine, or snow, I’m available. I’d absolutely appreciate it if you gave me the opportunity to spoil your dog, not just walk or watch. I understand these are your babies. My very old, very very needy Weimaraner dude barked all night the first night. Unfazed she invited him into her bedroom. Still barking, she calmed him and soothed him all night. She’s excellent with all the dogs in her care. I have found our only sitter going forward. 100% would recommend! 10 stars!!!”

Weather it was dog, cats, goats or turtles etc. I was there to make sure they had a friend. I’ve taken college corses on training dogs although didn’t finish due to becoming a mother so im well educated in understanding dogs and able to tendbto thier needs/prefacence. We have a large backyard fenced, covered & partly enclosed patio & love to give. Animals are truly a wonderful being to have around and I want to teach my children the importance of them. Dogs of all sizes are welcomed although I do prefer them to be house/potty trained due to my youngest boys running around. I take my oldest son to library/park at times we can spend anywhere between 1-4 hours there (if a dog is leash trained very well I'm okay bringing them to the park with us & I pick up my youngest from his program at 3pm (right down the road) other than weekly/biweekly grocery/shopping trips,and random fun days, we are at the house. We treat your dog like our family so that means ofc they are allowed on the couch and we have a fenced in back yard & covered patio while we love to spend time outside so you can be assured majority of the time we will be right there beside em. I do have a cat who spends majority of the time in our bedroom.

I have experience with all sizes of dogs though, as I have taken care of a variety of sized dogs for friends, family, and neighbors. I love making sure the pets are healthy and happy. I have volunteered at an animal shelter to help with the care of animals - providing play time, meds, and grooming of both dogs and cats. I'm currently a full time student at SIUE and I'm in the MFA art studio program. For summer 2026 semester my schedule is Mon-Fri for a few hours in July. For fall I have classes Monday through Friday for a few hours at a time. Weekends I'm generally free. For drop ins and walks, I'll work with you to figure out the best time(s) based upon my schedule and distance from campus. During house sitting, I can provide food, medicine, play time, walks, and many other services. I also am willing to assist with house related things - bringing in mail, taking trash out for trash pickup, etc - just let me know and we can work it out. For walks and drop ins, in addition to the service, I can provide some house related services (like bring in mail and packages) upon request. I am available to help with the pets at the clients home. I can either stay at your place or go home at night, which I can work with you based on your needs and comfort. I have experience with gated and non gated yards (so needing to leash the dog when taking out for the potty), gates for inside the house, and crate training. Often I will have my own leash with me so that if anything happens, I'm prepared. As for walks, I often work with the dog(s) to see what triggers them and avoid as much as possible. I know not all dogs are friendly with other dogs or people so I am aware of my surroundings and provide appropriate distance to avoid people and dogs as best as I can.

Since I work for my laptop, I can work from any part of the house which includes being outside while your dog plays and soaks up the sun. During the weekends, I spend my time playing with my dog, going to the dog park, or cuddling on the couch. If this sounds like something, your dog would enjoy, they would fit right in! I have a partially fenced in backyard with only one side of the yard not being fully fenced. I have a yard steak that can be put in the ground that extends throughout most of the yard so that your dog can feel just as free as if the yard was completely fenced. When my dog is outside, I am either outside with her or watching her from the big windows in my home that face the backyard to always make sure she’s being safe. During the day, the doors are always closed and treats are always put up to avoid any overindulgence or escaping the home when I am unaware.

“Shannon was fantastic! She communicated well with us while she watched our boy! She sent pictures to show he was doing fine! We felt at total ease leaving our “kid” in her care… she welcomed doing a meet and greet earlier in the week ( at our request) to introduce our dog to her to before dropping him off later that week. She was very accommodating with our drop off/pickup since we were flying somewhere. Will definitely use her again and recommend to her to other pet parents!!!”

“It was a big relief to find hosts willing to take my Sadie in when we were going on vacation over the Thanksgiving holiday. I was a little concerned because I'd never left my pup with anyone prior to this experience. I was provided picture updates and when I called to check on Sadie, they let me know that she was doing ok. I felt this was a very positive experience and Sadie seemed really happy to have other pups around that she could socialize with. My Sadie seemed to especially connect with the hosts female black lab named Kimber who was about the same age as she, 3 yrs old. I would certainly recommend boarding your pet with this family.”
