“MacKenzie & Jacob own 4 cats (no dogs but they sometimes board them) and clearly love animals. My 2 sibling kittens were born feral on my farm and when Mama disappeared, I had to take them in. Did not intend to keep them but these kitties had different plans. I am in the process of training them to spend more time indoors, and interact with other humans and animals. How lucky that I found MacKenzie on Rover. My kitties had their own space (spare bedroom) where I set up their familiar bedding, litter box, food, scratch post, etc. I started with a 24 hour stay and will prob try a few more days before taking a longer trip later this year. MacKenzie sent me regular updates. One kitty was slightly braver, exploring her surrounding. They both allowed MacKenzie and Jacob to pet them (although they admit they were shaking, which is no surprise) and they ate (not much) and used the litter box, but barely left the bedroom. MacKenzie & Jacob put them in their carriers minutes before I arrived (the cats only slightly resisted they said) and brought them downstairs with all of their belongings & helped me load it all up. I am very much looking forward to having my kitties spend more time with these two wonderful cat sitters - even when I don’t need a sitter - bc I want them to get more human and kitty interaction and I believe MacKenzie and Jacob’s home is the ideal environment. They are lovely, kind-hearted sitters who will give my babies the love and patience they need to become less feral and become the 2 house cats I need them to be.”

Our playful kitty Lin met them at the door each day, our shy kitty Dottie quickly warmed up to them, and they were even able to spot our senior cat Smokey a number of times (before he ran off to hide, as he usually does, haha!) I also really appreciated the detailed notes and adorable photos of the kitties they sent us each day -- you could tell how comfortable the kittens were with them by the end of the week. It's such a relief to know your pets are being well taken care of when you're out of town! About: I love to play and love on animals, and my daughter loves to research breeds and find what they like the most. And care for them that way. Your pet(s) will be well welcomed to our fun loving home. Welcome! I am working full time, dogs will have full access to backyard at their leisure. If they are unfamiliar with a dog door, I will train them. Litter box cleaned daily. And in the morning and evening some love and play time. I have a fenced in yard, dog door ( that locks) shelves and hiding spots for cats. I had made this an oasis for my cat and dog while they were still with us. Our free time is spent at the cat cafe, and the humane society. We will go walk the dogs there or play with the cats at both places. Any animal in need of love and attention, we are thrilled to provide it. Our dog passed of cancer 3 years ago and needed to be put down as it had spread and she was in terrible pain. It was a slow, and hard for to let go A year ago, our cat had this disease, and she became immobile immediately and was in chronic pain. It was such a quick loss. So I have been a little hesitant to bring another animal in full time. However, all animals are welcome and we look forward to building a safe spot for you and your pet while you are away.

About: I grew up on a farm with many animals. As a child, I had pet sheep, rabbits, dogs, cats, and cows. As an adult, I have always had cats. My 20 year old long hair cat just passed away in January. It was heartbreaking. I miss him dearly. We loved our guy so much. In his last 5 yrs, I spent many hours catering to his elderly issues. Medications and night yowling were issues that I happily took care of as he lived out his twilight years. I have a soft spot for all animals as they go through all stages of life :) I work from home and set my own hours, so my schedule is extremely flexible. My teen daughter and I live in a large 4 bedroom home, so we have tons of space to accommodate furry friends who need company. We have lots of fun walking the trails. I am an avid jogger/walker. I go out everyday, regardless of the weather. I have a very active lifestyle! We recently adopted a cat, but he stays in his own area on a different level of the house. He has claimed my daughter as his and lives in her room. When dogs come to stay with us, he typically stays in his room & pups never see him, although he has made friends with some of our regularly visiting pups 😊 I have a very flexible work schedule. When I do have to be away from home for work, I am gone about 2-3 hrs at a time. My daughter is at home often and also helps with pups. She is great with animals! We both like to take frequent walks throughout the day! In my home, I have a large open floor plan with tons of windows. During the day, I like to have pups next to me in my office, but some like to lay in prime viewing area of all the windows.

And since it's not the right time in our life to have our own dog, this is a perfect way to get that fix! I'm a firefighter, so I work every 3rd day. So my schedule is an oddball. About: Hi pet owners of Bloomington/Normal!! A little bit about my experience, I’ve had large and small dogs all my life. I have took care of cats as well! I have been dog-walking for 5 years and have nearly three years of experience as a home-health aid/caregiver for our local elderly, where I also walked, picked up after, snuggled and played with many clients pets! I am comfortable administering oral medication to dogs/cats and comfortable with pets of any size. I’m full-time at home, so plenty of time to give extra care and attention to your furry loved one. Personal hobbies are baking, doing puzzles, learning new recipes, walking around different parks, painting, doodling, and binging movies/tv shows! Available every day of the week besides midday Sundays! I have reliable transportation (my personal vehicle) for travel to clients homes for sitting and walking, as well as taking dogs to parks to play. I can allow one/two dogs inside of my home. My dog only eats when she is hungry, so I ensure her food and water bowls are never empty. I will follow clients care plan/requests for how your pets are fed. About: I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes & personalities. I’m not shy to specialized care needs and love to play, walk & give belly rubs! Services include drop in dog walks and play sessions and overnight pet sitting for short or long terms. I’ve cared for two large fluffy dogs with special needs for two months at a time. I also looked after a high energy chihuahua for three weeks, routinely walking three or four times a day to burn some extra energy! I work full time in Bloomington from 9-6, Monday - Friday. Walks will take place as late as 8am or earlier, during lunch break if you’re home is within 15 miles of Bloomington, and after 6:30 pm on weekdays. Weekends are flexible and I am comfortable transporting the dogs to a dog park or swimming spot if they do well on field trips! I’m more of a homebody and love to play and interact with animals in their home. Your house rules & pet care needs will be met with respect and understanding. Your dog’s boundaries, safety and needs will be prioritized. I appreciate cleanliness and will respect your home as if it’s my own.
About: Growing up on a farm, you learn responsibly. I have been around animals of all sizes since I was four. When I was eight, I started working at a family-owned dog kennel, which I still work at today. At 16, I started housesitting for neighbors and family-friends. I am very trustworthy and have years of experience. Your animals will be in good hands! I am a college student at ISU, so my schedule revolves around my classes, but there isn’t more than 4 hours where I won’t be able to take care of your animals! I will take care of your pets like my own. I will feed them on schedule if needed, and need to all instructions given. And give the necessary pets when needed.

From cleaning their litter box daily to playing with their toys or feeding them on a consistent schedule, I try my hardest to ensure my cats or any cats I cat sit have all their needs taken care of.
