“Had to book someone to watch my dog last minute. He seemed to have so much fun at Jason's and I'm definitely going to rebook in the future when I need to go out of town again. Definitely recommend him to everyone.”

About: I have grown up with dogs and animals of all sizes my whole life! I currently have a family dog back at home in Illinois (cavachon, 6 years old) who I miss taking care of deeply. I am in med school here in Iowa city for the summer and have very flexible hours, weekends, and payment choices! As I mentioned earlier, I am an ultrasound student in Iowa City Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm. I have certain days off through the week / available almost every weekend! I live at a graduate student / health care worker apartment complex with a dog park and lots of grass and greenery / walking trails all around the complex! Very animal friendly buildings. I also live alone and have a lot of space!
“A safe, happy, relaxed place for dogs. Scout was welcomed into the pack and happy to have friends. Jake has a calm, confident way with his pack that my dog loves being part of. I'm waiting for the pic of rebel Scout on the dining table 🤣”

“Anastasiia was EXCELLENT!! Communication was great and she included daily pictures and videos. My dog has anxiety during storms and she was very compassionate with him. I couldn’t be happier with the way she treated Chipper!!”

“We were first time Rover users and were very anxious, but Abbey did a great job putting us at ease. She sent us updates and even gave me a house tour, which really helped. I can’t say anything but positive things about her—she’s truly amazing and very flexible with her hours!”

About: I’ve taken care of quite a few dogs since I was young. I’ve had two dogs myself but currently don’t have any furry friends. I regularly dog-sit my parents’ dog and have occasionally watched other dogs. I do not work during the summer so I am home most of the time other than when running errands or the occasional day trip. This will allow me to keep whatever schedule your dog is used to. We have a fenced in yard with a few doggy neighbors. We do not have any furry pets at the moment so yours will get all the attention!
“Grace was a perfect fit for our spoiled little girl! Her dog Archer, is a sweet and mellow boy. We rebooked Ellie with Grace when we picked her up on Sunday, for later in the week already. We felt that comfortable with her!”

“Adela was wonderful with our boys. She communicated often, sent photos and kept us up to date on how they were doing. She was very calm and caring when one of them seemed to have caught a bug. We felt horrible about it, but she assured it was ok and he was getting better. Thank you Adela!”

“As first-time Rover users, we were curious about the process, and Micki and her family were a great introduction to dog sitting! They provided an abundance of love, care, and safety for our two corgis. They were super flexible with drop off and pick up and sent many wonderful photos and videos. They would be our first-choice sitters when the need arises!”
“Ali did a wonderful job watching my two dogs for a long weekend. She is competent, caring, a proactive communicator, and quick to reply to any questions. My dogs were so happy and content when I picked them up, they wanted to stay at Ali’s place longer. It is so comforting while traveling to know that my dogs are well cared for. I will definitely call on Ali again, I feel so lucky to have found her.”

“Stacy did an AWESOME job with my 1 year old (LARGE) dog, Jemma. She worked with her on commands that we'd been working on and gave her lots of love! She sent pictures every day and was very easy to work with. She is great with animals and was able to watch Jemma for a week while I was travelling - what a life saver she is!!!!”

“Nelson was amazing! He took care of my two cats wonderfully. I told him 1 of my cats is super shy and doesn’t like anyone but me really when we met, and she automatically liked him! Would highly recommended- he’s communicative, observant, thorough and so friendly!”

“Destiny was absolutely amazing with our senior cat. She took great care of him, kept the house spotless and was always on time to feed him. He loved cuddling with her and getting pets from her every day. She took care of him like he was her own pet and sent me detailed updates every day. I am so happy I found her! I’m definitely having her over again for Milo :)”

“Good, timely communication. Haley took great care of my precious felines - I had nothing to worry about. My kitties have suggested I ask her back IF I MUST go away again.”

“Meredith was an incredibly responsible and caring pet sitter. She took great care of our cats, making sure they were well-fed and comfortable. She even went the extra mile by cleaning their bowls and taking out the trash. Although we booked 30-minute visits, she often stayed longer to spend extra time with our cats. Her communication was excellent—she responded quickly to messages and sent daily photo updates, which gave us great peace of mind. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful pet sitter!”

“Second time I've worked with Tallie and yet again, she has been so great! The comments she leaves about her visits always make it very clear she has spent quality time with my cats because she's able to portray each of their personalities in a spot-on way. I would definitely continue to recommend her to anyone!”

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and currently have a friendly 4-year-old Lab mix named Maverick. I also volunteer with local animal shelters, giving me experience with dogs of different ages, sizes, energy levels, and personalities. As a medical student, I’m used to staying organized, following detailed instructions, and paying close attention to routines and behavior. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, and I take that responsibility seriously. Whether your dog needs lots of exercise, extra patience, medication, or just a comfortable place to relax, I’m happy to tailor their care to their individual needs. I’m currently a medical student, and much of my coursework can be completed from home. This gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to spend plenty of time with the pets in my care throughout the day. While my schedule varies slightly week to week, I’m generally available for frequent potty breaks, walks, playtime, meals, and plenty of companionship. I make every effort to keep your pet’s routine as consistent as possible while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a fully fenced backyard for safe outdoor play and exercise, and I only board one guest dog at a time so they receive plenty of individual attention. I also have a friendly 4-year-old Lab mix who enjoys other dogs when it’s a good fit. I always take introductions slowly and make sure both dogs are comfortable before allowing interactions. I’m happy to accommodate specific feeding schedules, medications, crate routines, and any other instructions that help your pet feel at home.
About: Hi, I’m Kaitlyn and I have 20+ years of experience caring for pets! I’ve helped family, neighbors and friends with pets of all ages, sizes and personalities. My experience has provided insight into how to comfortably care for most pets! I have a flexible work schedule to fit the unique needs of your pet, including walks over the lunch hour or care over the weekend. I have a fenced in yard and live in a quiet neighborhood with very walkable sidewalks. I’m getting familiar with the dog parks in the area and am always looking for a recommendation!
About: Hi there! My name is Brennen. I’m a current MFA Grad student at the University of Iowa. I was born in Philly. I worked as a freelance artist and teacher, and I have a ton of experience taking care of various pets and animals such as dogs, cats, even a hamster and a snapping turtle lol! (Seriously though) I’m incredibly responsible and caring. From the time I was about 11, I walked and cared for my own dogs as well as family friends' and neighbors’ dogs. I have also house-sat for a few friends’ cats and dogs. Part of some of those experiences required me to walk, feed, brush, and even administer oral medication to the pet in my care. As a freelance artist and current student, I have flexible availability, and I am always willing to work with different and varying schedules. Right now I'm on Summer Break and will be going back home to Philly for a workshop in July, so I'll be local there for a bit. I am a very caring and understanding human with a calm and inviting demeanor. I do well with paying attention to detail. If there are specific in-home care needs, I am very adept at following said care instructions as well as taking as many notes as possible. I’m pretty flexible and generally good about working with other schedules. My calendar availability is loose, but please inquire within because I’m sure we can work something out. I’m super caring and responsible and have an eye for detail. If you have specific instructions for the care of your pet I adhere to them to the word and if things should come up, I am not afraid to ask questions and check in with the pet owners.
“Sarah is amazing! She helped me out last minute and I’m so thankful. She was wonderful with my cat and he loved her, and I really appreciated the updates and photos she shared. I felt confident knowing that she was the one checking in on him while I was away and will definitely ask if she’s available again.”

“Gina is AWESOME!! She responds quickly, pays attention to things around the house, and is super thoughtful with communication. Our cats did great with her and we will 100% be requesting Gina again in the future. Highly recommend!!”

About: I've had a cat in my life for all 27 years (usually multiple!) and currently have my own pair of companions. I'm comfortable with every personality: chaos goblins, social butterflies, koala huggers, verbal commanders, independent observers, and everything in between. I'm experienced with medications (including insulin) and giving extra TLC to senior cats. <3 I read body language, respect boundaries, and let cats warm up at their own pace. Litter care, feeding, playtime, and keeping your beautiful companion looking and feeling their best (including hairballs, mats, and other little messes) are all part of my care. I provide updates (and as often as you'd like) so you can relax knowing your kitty is happy and healthy. Scritches are precise, loving, and possibly bribery-assisted. Your feline(s) will be pampered and adored (and probably plotting how to steal your attention when you get home!) :)

“Meranda did an awesome job with my cat! She left thoughtful messages every day about how he was doing and what they did together. She gave him lots of attention and even indulged him speaking with her through buttons!”

About: I got my first in 2019 and added another to the family in 2024. Not only was my second cat 3 months old when I adopted him, but he’s also orange. As you can imagine, I’ve seen it all. Cleaning up accidents, getting shouted at while trimming nails, and trying to appease a hungry creature whose bowl of food is literally right in front of him are all part of the gig, so I never expect perfect behavior. I embrace the chaos and love every second of it! I’ve been cat-sitting since I was in college, and I have experience caring for dogs, chinchillas, freshwater/saltwater fish, and aquatic invertebrates. Some kitties need a little extra attention or time to feel comfortable, so I might be able to stick around for a while if you don’t mind me working on my laptop at your kitchen table!

About: My house runs on cat hair and Alaskan Klee Kai energy — Annie, Mr. Darcy, and Benni keep me well-trained. I offer drop-ins, dog walking, and house sitting. I'll follow your routine or adapt to your pet's needs. Adept at medication administration, including injections. You'll hear from me — photos, texts, video updates, FaceTime if you just need to see their face. I'm easy to reach and big on communication. My cancellation policy is as flexible as possible, because schedules change and I understand that. Available weekday afternoons and evenings, weekends, and overnights. All breeds, all sizes, all personalities welcome. Your pet's in good hands — my Annie, Benni, and Darcy can vouch!
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 20. Family and friends have relied on me to feed and take care of their pets. I have 2 dogs.I can dispense medicine if needed. I have a large backyard. I prefer to do a meet & greet to make sure everyone gets along. I have experience in senior care. I have lots of time to spend with my dogs, taking them on walking and playing with them, giving them lots of attention. I enjoy spending time with animals. I have a fenced in yard. I have 2 fur dogs as well to keep your dogs company. I also can crate your dog as well.

About: I lost my dog last year and miss taking care of him, now that I have free time on my hands I'm looking to help take care of other dogs like I would my own. I treat pets like family and have experience with administering medications if needed and am willing to learn of any specific needs your pet has to take care of them like you would! I'm currently free most days and stay at home since my school schedule is very light for the next few months and have flexibility in it. I currently don't have any pets so there is no concern for socializing or introducing them. In addition I live in an apartment with a large grassy area where dogs can walk on and will use a leash while doing so to make sure your pet is safe.

About: We love dogs and your little one will receive lots of love and one on one attention as we welcome him or her into our home. Our little Ronnie loves to play with dogs his own size or smaller. We don't have a fenced in yard, which means we will always be playing with and alongside your dog keeping him or her safe and happy and comfortable. We love to walk your dog also so he or she will get plenty of potty breaks and time to smell and get to know our neighborhood! We only care for one dog at a time, besides our own little guy Ronnie... so the two will become best friends! We make it a team effort so your dog will always have his or her needs met and get maximum love and attention. Safety comes first with your pet. We have a home that is safe and perfect for your little dog. About: I have taken care of animals for the past 16 years. I have cared for my own family dogs and cat since I was 10. I now have my own cat for the past 3 years. Before I adopted my one cat I have had multiple roommates over the past 6 years with dogs and cats of their own that I have helped care for every day. I frequently pet-sit for my friends and their families when they are out of town. I can handle any pet personality from high energy to anxious or shy. I am gentle and cautious making sure your animal is always comfortable in my company. I do work in patient care, so while my patients are humans, all of my friends, family and coworkers would agree that I provide quality care for all living beings. I just graduated and I am looking for jobs preparing to move back home to Illinois. My lease in Iowa ends at the end of July, so until then I have almost complete availability this summer through end of July. I can do mornings as early as 6:30am and can be available all day until the late evening or night. I am very flexible and willing to work with what pet owners or their pet needs any day of the week. I quickly requested a walk with Brennen and he was at my house to walk my dog within 15 minutes of my request. He was super friendly, responsive, and helpful. I am very grateful and will absolutely use Brennen for walks in the future. I would definitely recommend him to anyone else looking for a walker.”

“Jason is awesome! My American Bully is 110lbs and he can make some people nervous. I broke my foot and can’t walk Mako for a bit. I was a bit nervous using Rover but Jason made me a believer. Jason loves all dogs, you can really tell. I’ll be using him often”

About: My best friend of 15 years and her family have two wonderful dogs, a doodle and a lab who I have taken care of so many times. I even watched the doodle when she was just a few months old for about a week during a snow storm while her family was on vacation. They’re a handful but so much fun. I have also cat-sit for up to 3-weeks on end. Giving medicine, checking for packages, and updating if anything seems off. I am a graduate student with very flexible hours. I am happy to spend time with your pet while I study or just for personal therapy. I will make time for animals no matter what. I go above and beyond noting things like if the house temperature is uncomfortable for said pet. I keep them under constant supervision and won’t leave them alone for more than a few hours unless discussed otherwise. I am very thorough and will take extra time to make sure each pet feels comfortable and safe with a new person around them. I know what it takes to be patient with pets.
