“Our lab, Yeller, has stayed with Steve and Tilaine twice during our summer vacation and he has a wonderful time in their home. They are loving and responsible and treat him like family. He loves playing in their fenced yard with the kids, laying in the sun on their deck, and all the attention he gets throughout his stay. When we dropped Yeller off for his second stay with them, about a year after the first one, he enthusiastically bolted from the car right up to Steve and immediately made himself at home again. They have also been flexible with our return time as our flight was delayed and accommodated an extension of the stay on short notice. Highly recommend this family for your dog sitting needs!”

About: I have had a lot of experience with dogs over the years and am just getting started with pet sitting. My priority is providing a safe and caring home for your pup while they are in my care. I currently have a yellow lab mix who loves other dogs. I have some experience with high energy dogs, nervous dogs, giving medicines, and helping finicky dogs eat. I work full time, but have a flexible job that will allow me to let your dog out as needed. Our routine includes three walks a day so I will make sure your pup is exercised. “Amanda spoiled our dog all weekend! Played catch and cuddled and let him take a nap in her lap (he's almost 100 lbs so that was above and beyond the call of duty)! Another plus is there were 4-5 large dogs for Osborne to play with in Amanda's fenced in backyard so he came home happily exhausted. Amanda was extremely flexible in drop off/pick up times which was greatly appreciated as we were heading out of town for the weekend. She also carefully monitored his food so he only ate his food and didn't sneak other dog food and get an upset stomach. Highly recommend Amanda!”

About: I am a student at Iowa State University, eager to get some good puppy love. After moving from northern Illinois, I miss my family dogs dearly and want to help others with their dogs and give them the attention they deserve. Growing up, I had many dogs and cats, ranging from small to very large dogs. I am also experienced handling less friendly dogs, and am good at making connections with them. I’m currently working part time as a customer services representative at Iowa State’s Recreation Services and do research remotely in a lab at the university. I tend to be able to do early mornings or afternoons! My apartment is safe, secured by multiple locked doors and is regularly cleaned and uncluttered. At a clients house, I am sure to respect your pet’s way of life and the house rules as well.
About: I’ve watched many dogs and two cats over the past 4 years usually over family friend vacations. I’ve worked with reactive dogs as well as two young puppies. I spoil my dogs and would be happy to treat your pets with just as much love! I am a part time college student so I have a TON of time to pet sit! As I prepare for dental school in the fall, I will also be free for summer work. I love staying with dogs in either an environment they are used to or my own depending on what the pet parent prefers! There is a fenced in dog park behind my apartment that is never occupied where I run around with dogs. If it is occupied, I would walk around the park nearby with lots to smell on the trail. I also love giving dog baths, so that could totally be included!

I lived in the country, so learned fast that the world can be hard for an animal, thus beginning my rehab ‘career’. As I got older, I pet sat for neighbors and family friends. In my mid 20s I trained as a vet tech, prepping animals for surgery, giving vaccinations, nail trims, etc. Until the ISU Wildlife Clinic closed, I volunteered there, learning more care for wild native animals. About: Hello! I’m a full-time high school teacher who loves animals… but my own dog passed away last year and for some reason I’m just not ready to get a new one. But I love dogs!! So, in the meantime, I am getting my pet love by dog-sitting. I mostly set this up to do over the summer when I was off work and super flexible, but I’ve decided to keep doing it some—with an emphasis on weekends and public holidays when I’m not at work :) I can do some weekdays, but we’d need to chat about it first. I have gotten a lot of satisfaction and enjoyment out of this so far (which is truly why I’m doing this) and plan to continue this until that stops (or until I decide to adopt a new furry friend who might need most of my attention). I grew up with dogs and have had a variety of breeds, shapes, sizes over the decades. It’s not the biggest but I’ve also had a smaller yard! There are neighboring dogs, as well, so keep that in mind. As mentioned, no dog at the moment. I’m very careful with dogs in terms of behavior. I was raised to understand that the person is responsible for the dog’s behavior. This means paying attention, shortening the lead when needed, helping the dog feel secure, crossing the street, etc.

About: I have taken care of my two dogs for most of my life. Not only that but I have been taking care of neighbors and family friends animals since I was 14 years old. I love spending time with animals even if they're not my own. I don't have professional experience but its not my first time doing this sort of job I've found that creating a pet care schedule is essential for keeping your furry friend happy and healthy so currently I am not working any jobs now, so I have plenty of time to spend with anyone animal. In my home, pets would have plenty of attention, supervision, and space to relax indoors. I do have an unfenced yard, so all outdoor time would be supervised and pets would always be kept safely on a leash when outside. In clients’ homes, I do my best to maintain pets’ normal routines to help them feel comfortable while their owners are away. I’m happy to provide walks, playtime, cuddles, updates/photos, and lots of companionship throughout the visit. I also make sure the home stays clean and secure while I’m there.
About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and have been taking care of family, friends, and neighbors dogs since I was 12. I love big dogs and small. I’m very active and love walking and running around with my pets. When we dropped Yeller off for his second stay with them, about a year after the first one, he enthusiastically bolted from the car right up to Steve and immediately made himself at home again. About: I have had a lot of experience with dogs over the years and am just getting started with pet sitting. My priority is providing a safe and caring home for your pup while they are in my care. I currently have a yellow lab mix who loves other dogs. I have some experience with high energy dogs, nervous dogs, giving medicines, and helping finicky dogs eat. About: I am a student at Iowa State University, eager to get some good puppy love. After moving from northern Illinois, I miss my family dogs dearly and want to help others with their dogs and give them the attention they deserve. Growing up, I had many dogs and cats, ranging from small to very large dogs. I am also experienced handling less friendly dogs, and am good at making connections with them. I’m currently working part time as a customer services representative at Iowa State’s Recreation Services and do research remotely in a lab at the university.
