About: I’ve taken care of quite a few dogs since I was young. I’ve had two dogs myself but currently don’t have any furry friends. I regularly dog-sit my parents’ dog and have occasionally watched other dogs. I do not work during the summer so I am home most of the time other than when running errands or the occasional day trip. This will allow me to keep whatever schedule your dog is used to. We have a fenced in yard with a few doggy neighbors. We do not have any furry pets at the moment so yours will get all the attention!
“Ali took care of our 1.5 year old weimaraner for an overnight. Provided multiple walks and photo updates. Took the dog with her on errands when our dog was exhibiting stress symptoms when left behind”

“Laylah was incredibly flexible and responsive to our changing needs. I appreciated how she communicated with me in a timely manner via text and phone. It is obvious she takes her job of keeping pets safe and happy very seriously.”

“Grace was a perfect fit for our spoiled little girl! Her dog Archer, is a sweet and mellow boy. We rebooked Ellie with Grace when we picked her up on Sunday, for later in the week already. We felt that comfortable with her!”

About: I lost my dog last year and miss taking care of him, now that I have free time on my hands I'm looking to help take care of other dogs like I would my own. I treat pets like family and have experience with administering medications if needed and am willing to learn of any specific needs your pet has to take care of them like you would! I'm currently free most days and stay at home since my school schedule is very light for the next few months and have flexibility in it. I currently don't have any pets so there is no concern for socializing or introducing them. In addition I live in an apartment with a large grassy area where dogs can walk on and will use a leash while doing so to make sure your pet is safe.
About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and currently have a friendly 4-year-old Lab mix named Maverick. I also volunteer with local animal shelters, giving me experience with dogs of different ages, sizes, energy levels, and personalities. As a medical student, I’m used to staying organized, following detailed instructions, and paying close attention to routines and behavior. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, and I take that responsibility seriously. Whether your dog needs lots of exercise, extra patience, medication, or just a comfortable place to relax, I’m happy to tailor their care to their individual needs. I’m currently a medical student, and much of my coursework can be completed from home. This gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to spend plenty of time with the pets in my care throughout the day. While my schedule varies slightly week to week, I’m generally available for frequent potty breaks, walks, playtime, meals, and plenty of companionship. I make every effort to keep your pet’s routine as consistent as possible while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a fully fenced backyard for safe outdoor play and exercise, and I only board one guest dog at a time so they receive plenty of individual attention. I also have a friendly 4-year-old Lab mix who enjoys other dogs when it’s a good fit. I always take introductions slowly and make sure both dogs are comfortable before allowing interactions. I’m happy to accommodate specific feeding schedules, medications, crate routines, and any other instructions that help your pet feel at home.

“Jamie was incredible! She took care of our cat Socks for a few days while we were out of town and met with us beforehand so we would feel comfortable with her. Socks loved having a friend visit, and Jamie was professional, sweet, and communicative through the whole process! She even traversed a snow storm to take care of our girl! We’ll definitely be asking for her to come back in the future :)”

“Des is hands down the best sitter we’ve ever worked with. This is our fourth or fifth time booking her, and at this point she’s our go-to without question. She takes incredible care of Minnie and is so attentive to the little things that make a difference. You can tell Minnie genuinely loves her, which says everything. Her updates are consistently thoughtful, detailed, and actually enjoyable to read, which makes being away so much easier. I never have to wonder how things are going. Des is reliable, communicative, and clearly cares about the animals she looks after. We feel very lucky to have found her and will absolutely keep booking with her.”

“Brooke, thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of our Eva while we were away. If I could, I’d give you 10 stars ⭐️ You were truly the best sitter she could have asked for! We also appreciate you taking care of the house and mail—it gave us such peace of mind while we were gone. Wishing you all the best, and hopefully we’ll see you again soon! I also brought you some candies from Brazil as a small thank-you.”

“Nicky was a wonderful cat sitter while I was away on vacation! She sent pictures and updates daily and I was reassured that they were doing well throughout the week. Thanks Nicky!”

“Ashley took great care of my kitties and made sure they were safe, fed, and enriched while I was out of town. I will absolutely use her services again for my cats and would recommend her to anyone.”

“Tallie was absolutely THE BEST during this most recent pet sitting booking!! One of my cats had some pretty significant, unexpected complications following a tooth extraction (prior to our scheduled Rover visits), and Tallie worked with me to make sure he got his medications while I was away, and kept me updated daily with lots of details about how he was doing. I truly don't know that I would have felt comfortable leaving on this trip considering the circumstances if I didn't know I had Tallie covering my cats during this time -- she is so reliable and is a joy to work with!!”

“Meranda did an awesome job with my cat! She left thoughtful messages every day about how he was doing and what they did together. She gave him lots of attention and even indulged him speaking with her through buttons!”

“Trish is a dog whisperer! I am in IC from Colorado to help my mom with surgery and needed a place for my rowdy 8 month old Aussie/Great Pyrenees to play during the day. Trish loved her like her own pup and sent lots of updates. Hazel came home tired and smiling every day.”

“Amazingx3 ! This is our first time using Rover and we had an amazing experience with Abbey! She took care of our shy fur baby for a day and he had a great day at her place. She updated us frequently with pictures and videos. Her dog Samantha is very friendly and kind to our dog. Overall, would 100% recommend for everyone!”

“He sends updates and love the Rover card at the end. Theodore is always a little shy coming in but warms up and loves his buddy Timber. It takes a while for Theodore to warm up to others since he is a mama boy but Jason has the patience to win him over.”
“Auden was fantastic! Communication was great throughout the day along with photos of our pup playing and on walks! We definitely would love Auden to watch our dog again!”

“Kasey was an absolute blessing to us! Our daughter was admitted to Iowa City Hospital and we were traveling with our 2 fur babies. We had no idea how we would be able to visit her, but Kasey made it possible! Her location to the hospital is absolutely perfect! Her love of animals is extremely evident when you visit her lovely home! Knowing she will be able to care for our dogs for future hospital visits with our daughter gives us such peace of mind! You will not be disappointed if you choose Her!”

“This was our first experience with Rover and it exceeded our expectations. Ali did a great job caring for our 4 1/2 year old black lab, George. Ali was easy to get in touch with and attended to George’s medical issues requiring meds and exercise restrictions. George was clearly well cared for and loved.? Highly recommended!”

About: Get to know me ~ It’s lovely to meet you! I’m Skylynn! But my friends call me “Lo”. I am a clinic services specialist at UIHC, an active reader, lover of nature—and I ADORE fur-babies! 💕 Pets have been part of my world since I could walk! I’ve shared my life with dogs and cats through every stage: from puppies with the zoomies to sweet, nonchalant seniors. In that time, I have learned to tailor walks and playtime to match each pet’s energy, keep a close eye on special diets, and gently handle medications and supplements when needed. Whether they’re shy, spunky, cuddly, or curious, I tune into their emotional needs: offering play, snuggles, and calm companionship that makes them feel right at home. I even handle brushing and nail trims, when requested, to help your sweet-faced, little fur-ball feel their best! No matter who I’m caring for, I bring kindness, patience, and a whole lot of heart to every visit! Friends, family, and clients have trusted me for years because I treat every pet like family. Because to me, they are! (También hablo español :) My Availability ~ I work full time at the U; Monday-Friday. On weekdays I am available in the afternoon and overnight (with pick-up at 7AM). I am available all weekend. Safety & Environment ~ In my home, your pet becomes part of the crew. I have two very friendly, well-socialized cats (you could be a robber and they’d still flop on their backs and ask for belly rubs all the same! 😂) and a playful (yet very respectful) Shiba Inu puppy who loves making new friends, while understanding boundaries. I take introductions slow and make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable. My neighborhood is walkable and safe. I’m right down the street from the police station, fire station, local vet, and S.T. Morrison Park! Which means lots of fun walks, fresh air, and enrichment time! (I’m all about protective safeguards and organization, so living in close proximity to aid and community enrichment was a must for me :) 🙌 I stick closely to your pet’s normal routine: feeding schedules, potty breaks, medications, cuddle preferences, crate time, you name it. I adjust to their vibe and your instruction.
“Sidney took great care of our puppy, Bean! She kept us updated throughout the day with pictures and how Bean was doing! I would highly recommend Sidney if you’re looking for a good sitter!”

We love to walk your dog also so he or she will get plenty of potty breaks and time to smell and get to know our neighborhood! We only care for one dog at a time, besides our own little guy Ronnie... so the two will become best friends! About: I am an experienced caregiver with strong attention to safety, and I grew up caring for my neighbors’ and friends’ dogs. I love walking calm, more relaxed dogs, but I also enjoy caring for energetic, enthusiastic dogs as well. I started walking neighbors’ dogs at a younger age and have always enjoyed being able to provide safe, fun walks while building trust and strong bonds with every dog. My dream dog is a Miniature Dachshund, and I plan to get one once I'm out of school and have the time to care for one full-time. In the meantime, I'd love to use my extra free time to care for your dog and treat them like they're my own! I work part-time, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of availability to care for your pets. I love going on daily walks and would enjoy having your dog as my companion, and I’m even open to short runs for high-energy dogs that need to get some extra energy out! I’m available for walks and drop-ins most weekdays and can also be available on weekends. During walks and drop-ins, I make sure your dog gets bathroom breaks, exercise, fresh water, and plenty of attention. I focus on keeping your pet comfortable by following their normal routine and respecting your home. I’m also comfortable safely crating dogs when needed. I do especially well with clear instructions and take the time to understand your dog’s specific needs, behaviors, and preferences to provide the safest, most personalized care possible.

We had never left him with anyone other than doggy daycare and she made sure we had all our questions answered before and during his Monday-Friday stay! She gave us lots of updates, pics and videos and were pretty sure he would have stayed there forever!! We will be using her every time she lets us :)”

“Stacy did an AWESOME job with my 1 year old (LARGE) dog, Jemma. She worked with her on commands that we'd been working on and gave her lots of love! She sent pictures every day and was very easy to work with. She is great with animals and was able to watch Jemma for a week while I was travelling - what a life saver she is!!!!”

“Rizzo had a great day hanging out with Adela and her fam. Lots of outdoor time in her amazing backyard. Great communication with Adela. Thanks for another great stay! 🐾”

“Micki was great! She was very accommodating with which made scheduling pick up and drop off easy. She kept me updated with pictures and I could tell my dog received a lot of attention and was well taken care of!”

“My dog Chloe immediately took to Ty's calm good nature. Ty has great communication and proved to be an excellent dog-sitter! He went above and beyond when he watched her an extra night and day while we were stranded from a snow storm. Would highly recommend him!”

“Madi was wonderful! So communicative and sweet! I think my girl had the best time with her, she didn’t even want to come home! I felt my dog was so loved like her own. Thank you Madi!!!”

“Ashley was the perfect doggy sitter! Rusty loved their backyard and daily walks together! Ashley was wonderful at sending daily updates and pictures and was easy to communicate with. She was also very willing to let my pup make himself right at home. I will definitely book again if needed!!”

“Christian was wonderful! Extremely responsive, easy to contact, friendly, and organized. He sent us updates throughout the stay and we felt very relaxed knowing our dog was in good hands. Highly recommend!”

About: I am a responsible college student athlete who is very active and loves to be around pets. I have grown up with 1-3 pets in the house my whole life, and I have learned to take care of them to the best of my abilities. I have gotten used to doing the many duties involved with taking care of a pet, including picking up waste. My summer is busy enough to create a schedule to keep me organized, but I have more than enough free time to take care of your pet(s)! I have always been a lover of bigger dogs, which is the size of dog I have the most experience with, but I have been a dog-sitter for small dogs too. I am open and comfortable with a variety!
