“Nejra gave our two cats wonderful care for the six days she cared for them. One of the cats is diabetic, so Nejra had to stop twice a day approximately 12 hours apart to feed them and give one cat her insulin. Asking for care at 6:30 AM and again at 6:30 PM is a big ask, but Nejra showed up each day at those times! Their litter boxes were cleaned and Nejra provided pictures and details on how they were eating twice a day. She even took the time to give them pets each time she was here. I highly recommend Nejra and I will be using her service again! i”

About: I have personally had a pet or 3 since I was 13 years old. I begged for a cat for years and once I got one, I never have been without at least one pet. I have been volunteering with the ARL since 2005. I have had 30+ foster dogs through them as well. I just love animals. I do have weekends blocked but just ask about availability! I am retired. I enjoy going for walks with dogs and depending on the dog spending time outside in my fenced in backyard. I have a 6 foot fence. Your dog will have the ability to be part of our family and our family pets are on our furniture. We do separate our home animals, fosters and house guests at night. The "regulars" get to sleep in our beds while our guests get other accommodations. It makes for better harmony for us. Because we foster on a regular basis our animals are very used to different dogs coming into our home. Our home is pretty quiet and relaxing.

About: Hi! I’m Rachel, and animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. These days, my family includes my partner, four kids, and what we lovingly call our “mini zoo”: dogs, cats, a bunny, ball pythons, a bearded dragon, mourning geckos, and multiple aquariums full of fish, shrimp, snails, and dwarf crayfish. Caring for such a variety of animals has made me comfortable with everything from energetic puppies to reptiles and aquatic pets. Along the way I’ve even found myself handling unexpected adventures like moving fallen tree branches after storms, making small home fixes, collecting fresh raspberries from clients’ gardens, and convincing stubborn geese to cooperate. Every home and every pet has its own story, and I love being someone families can depend on. My experience goes beyond pet sitting. In high school I volunteered regularly at a local animal shelter, gaining hands-on experience with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. I later worked as an assistant dog trainer, where I learned to read canine body language, encourage healthy play, and build trust through calm, confident handling. Whether I’m caring for one pet or an entire household, I believe great pet care is about more than feeding and potty breaks. I pay attention to routines, behavior, enrichment, and the little details that help pets feel safe while you’re away. I also keep an eye on your home, bring in packages, water plants if requested, and communicate with plenty of updates so you can truly relax while you’re gone. I know what a big deal it is to leave my pets in the care of someone else and as a result, I take the responsibility very seriously myself. I'm a teacher and a lifelong animal lover with a flexible summer schedule, which means I'm home and fully available to give your pets the time, attention, and care they deserve while you are away. I've owned and cared for dogs of all sizes and personalities, from small breeds to large dogs, and I'm comfortable with a wide variety of needs and personalities. Our current fur baby family members include Mya, a 13-year-old lab/hound mix, and Mercury, a 3-year old kitty (who thinks he is a dog). Mya is a lover of all dogs, and Mercury goes with the flow when we have pups visit. I have experience with special needs dogs, including giving medication and extra support. As a teacher, I'm dependable, attentive, patient,and organized. I truly love caring for animals, making them feel safe and loved. During the summer, I'm available to pet care, walks, drop-ins, boarding, and giving lots of love to your fur baby. I have been helping a friend care for dogs through Rover, so I understand how important communication, trust, and reliability is when caring for your pet. One additional bonus - my home is full of animal lovers. I have 3 teens home this summer who absolutely love dogs and cats and enjoy helping give pets extra love, play, walks, and attention. We have a partially fenced in yard in our planning to completely fenced in in the next couple weeks. We live on a quiet street which is a great area to go on walks.
