“I think my Sam had a great time with Cynthia and family…and he was so lucky that Cynthia’s daughter was there with her little dog Reggie, so he had a playmate the whole time he was there (9days). Cynthia watered her plants outside and my Sam loves to be watered also. And with the very hot weather, he enjoyed it. Will be returning!”

“This was my first time using Rover and I was pleased with Jessica’s quick response time and enthusiasm to meet and care for Blanca. The process was easy and drop off went smoothly. Jessica’s dog was in a kennel when we arrived to make drop off less stressful for both dogs. We received photos and updates during our whole time away and knew Blanca was happy and safe. We would be happy to use Jessica again in the future!”

“Alexandra was, as always, the perfect cat sitter. Her expertise really showed in her ability to get my crabby older cat to take daily meds. Incredible work!”

“I have nothing but positive things to say about Kassy. I went out of town for the holidays and had someone lined up, but unfortunately they weren’t able to pull through last minute. I reached out to a couple of people, and Kassy responded quickly and confirmed her availability right away. From the start, I got a great vibe from her. She was kind, professional, and very personable. She immediately took a huge weight off my shoulders. I really appreciated how respectful she was in my home; she always asked before looking for anything and made sure she was doing things the way I was comfortable with. That meant a lot to me, especially since I’m not someone who easily lets just anyone into my space. Her communication was excellent throughout the entire visit. I loved the updates and photos. They gave me real peace of mind while I was away. This was also my first time using Rover, and I genuinely feel like I got lucky finding her. I trusted her completely and felt very comfortable knowing my little guy was in good hands. I highly recommend Kassy and will absolutely be reaching out to her again in the future.”

“Jaden cared for our cats with drop-in visits while we were gone on a trip. She came to meet our two cats and learn their routines in advance, and captured pics each day when she visited. Thank you, Jaden!”

“Geni did a fantastic job watching our cats! She was dependable, took great care of them, and kept us updated with pictures while we were away. One of my biggest concerns was that our cats would be stressed, but it was so obvious from the pictures that they were comfortable, happy, and really liked Geni. That gave us such peace of mind! We couldn’t have asked for someone better and would 100% recommend Geni. We’ll definitely be asking her to watch our cats again! 🐾❤️”

“Rachel did a great job taking care of Remy and spoiling him while we were away. Our pup is very timid and he did great with her. She also hauled in quite a few packages that arrived earlier than expected before they could get soaked with snow!”

“Troy was awesome with Asher!! Left very detailed feedback, and got him some much needed exercise during the day while I'm gone. Asher was very tired after, which is the goal! I have no complaints and would recommend to anyone looking to supplement some socialization and exercise for their pets.”

About: I have been a pet parent for over 15 years. I currently have a 4 year old German shorthair pointer named Draco and a 11 year old cat named Rubeus. Draco is a big goofy lover. Very good with other dogs. We recently lost our older dog and Draco is missing having a buddy to run around with. I am a stay at home mom so I am home most of the day. We are very active with playing in the yard and going for walks. I have a huge fenced in yard and live walking distance to a couple parks. Dogs are free to roam my home and be on furniture. Can kennel overnight if preferred.
“Meghann was so responsive when we reached out somewhat last-minute and communicated seamlessly while providing care for Monte. Would absolutely recommend Meghann and we’ll be using her again!”

About: My experience in the dog industry goes beyond just boarding or sitting. I have the knowledge, skills, and experience training dogs of all ages and breeds, including service dogs. I currently work part time teaching group classes, leaving quite a bit of my time available to do other things involving dogs. In addition to a safe and friendly place to stay, your dog will get daily enrichment activities and, if needed, house manners training (go to place, leave it, keeping all 4 paws on the floor, going in/out of doorways). I work part-time training group classes, which allows me to have the time needed to care for the dogs staying with me. I'm available for boarding during the week, weekends, most holidays, single overnights and extended stays. My availability for day time sitting can vary but my calendar will always be updated with those times. All interactions between dogs are supervised to ensure those interactions are a positive experience and a safe experience. I don't have a fenced in yard so each time going outside is on leash, so leash manners will be worked on. I have crates and exercise pens for dogs who get crated at night. During meal times dogs are separated from each other as a precaution to prevent resource guarding. I do have a "gated community" inside my house to prevent mischief in the kitchen or going upstairs to bedrooms.

“Isabella was fantastic with Monte! Monte hadn't met her before she dog sat him and he immediately walked into her home and seemed comfortable. She was communicative through his stay with her, sending photos and updates. Will definitely be using Isabella again!”

About: I have personally had a pet or 3 since I was 13 years old. I begged for a cat for years and once I got one, I never have been without at least one pet. I have been volunteering with the ARL since 2005. I have had 30+ foster dogs through them as well. I just love animals. I do have weekends blocked but just ask about availability! I am retired. I enjoy going for walks with dogs and depending on the dog spending time outside in my fenced in backyard. I have a 6 foot fence. Your dog will have the ability to be part of our family and our family pets are on our furniture. We do separate our home animals, fosters and house guests at night. The "regulars" get to sleep in our beds while our guests get other accommodations. It makes for better harmony for us. Because we foster on a regular basis our animals are very used to different dogs coming into our home. Our home is pretty quiet and relaxing.
About: Hello! My name is Rachael and I live in Windsor Heights! I’m happy to help take care of your fur babies! I currently own two rescue dogs and a cat (Baloo Galaxy and Amelia)! I’m happy to help with your dog walking and dog boarding needs as I am able! I enjoy running and walking and love exploring new parks. I have a fenced in yard. I currently work from home and my schedule is very flexible! I was raised with dogs and got my own dog after I graduated college in 2009. My second dog was a foster that I found in 2015. Both typically get along well with other dogs after a meet and greet. I look forward to talking to you soon!
“Melanie and family were so friendly that my dogs—a 4- and a 12- year-old Havanese—relaxed immediately. Melanie met us in the yard and the dogs trotted away with her without looking back. The dogs were with her for 6 hours and she sent multiple photos and status updates. We would definitely ask Melanie to watch our dogs again!”

“First time ever using this app and Lucia made it easy to book with her, nice and responsive! She sent me a video of my dog and that was comforting! Kona was happy and got to play her little heart out! Thank you so much!”

“Was awesome with a last minute booking, easy to meet with and flexible with the pickup. My dog looked very happy and healthy at pick up and seemed to enjoy his time.”

“Kelsey was wonderful with our girl Bonnie! Bonnie is a little anxious at first and has a bit of a loud mouth 😂but Kelsey was patient and had her relaxed and playing/napping in no time. We will absolutely trust her with Bonnie again.”

His attention to detail extends to maintaining routines, whether it's administering medications or sticking to specific dietary requirements. Additionally, Ezequiel values open communication with pet owners, providing regular updates and photos to reassure them that their furry friends are thriving. With his responsible and warm-hearted care, Ezequiel R. truly stands out as an exceptional pet sitter.”

“Maren was AMAZING! My dog gets hot really fast and she could see the signs of him overheating. My dogs seemed to really get along with her! She is always quick to answer a text. She also listens to all my care guidelines no matter how long I make a paragraph 😂. I will definitely be booking again.”

“Cory is matter-of-fact, flexible, and a good energy for our hyper lab mix. We were able to schedule an additional walk during our vacation which we really appreciated. We received updates each time he stopped by. Big fan!”

“Ali is wonderful! She walks my dog, Lettie, during my long workdays and has been incredibly helpful and flexible with my schedule. Her communication is fantastic, and she’s even been helping reinforce Lettie’s ongoing training. Lettie loves her, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive dog walker.”

“Jessica was great! She took time out of her night to come visit Koda the night before she walked him and see how they did with each other! She was also a great walker and was willing to just hang out with him outside of his kennel and play with his toys! We will definitely be going back to Jessica again!”

About: 1 year of professional dog and cat daycare and boarding experience. 2 years of dog and cat fostering including disabled kittens. Current loving home of 2 cats and a dog. I'm currently living at home after high-school and am unemployed. I used to work at a dog and cat daycare and boarding facility, but decided I wanted to make my own schedule. I'm not very social besides with animals so my schedule is open and flexible. I own 2 cats and a dog so I'm unable to board or pet sit at my own house, but I can travel to your house and look after your furry friend in an environment I'm sure they're more comfortable in anyway.
“It’s clear Meghan enjoys dogs - she loves on Winnie as much as I would! I know she’s getting plenty of love and attention when she’s spending time with Meghan.”

About: Hi! I’m Rachel, and animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. These days, my family includes my partner, four kids, and what we lovingly call our “mini zoo”: dogs, cats, a bunny, ball pythons, a bearded dragon, mourning geckos, and multiple aquariums full of fish, shrimp, snails, and dwarf crayfish. Caring for such a variety of animals has made me comfortable with everything from energetic puppies to reptiles and aquatic pets. Since joining Rover, I’ve had the opportunity to care for pets with all kinds of unique needs. I’ve worked with raw-fed dogs and cats, chickens, senior pets, anxious pets, and plenty of quirky personalities. Along the way I’ve even found myself handling unexpected adventures like moving fallen tree branches after storms, making small home fixes, collecting fresh raspberries from clients’ gardens, and convincing stubborn geese to cooperate. Every home and every pet has its own story, and I love being someone families can depend on. My experience goes beyond pet sitting. In high school I volunteered regularly at a local animal shelter, gaining hands-on experience with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. I later worked as an assistant dog trainer, where I learned to read canine body language, encourage healthy play, and build trust through calm, confident handling. Whether I’m caring for one pet or an entire household, I believe great pet care is about more than feeding and potty breaks. I pay attention to routines, behavior, enrichment, and the little details that help pets feel safe while you’re away. I also keep an eye on your home, bring in packages, water plants if requested, and communicate with plenty of updates so you can truly relax while you’re gone. For families who enjoy it, my animal-loving family is often part of the fun. My oldest daughter, Bella, enjoys helping give extra attention, playtime, and companionship to many of our pet guests (always under my supervision). If your pets love people, they’ll have no shortage of affection and enrichment while they’re with us. My goal is simple: to care for your pets the same way I’d want someone to care for mine, with patience, respect, and lots of love. I work as a school bus driver primarily so it leaves my summer & most major holidays pretty open! When I am at work my wife is usually home with some or all of the kids, so even when I’m busy- we have the ability to care for pets. I am pretty flexible but my main priority is making sure I am respectful of your space as much as I would want someone to be respectful of mine. Taking photos and communicating heavily with pet parents is top priority for me. If you wish to have less communication, just let me know so I don’t send too many cute pictures of your pets! I know what a big deal it is to leave my pets in the care of someone else and as a result, I take the responsibility very seriously myself. We have a very large unfenced yard. We do not use any pesticides on our yard to protect the environment and animals of all kinds. 🌎🐝🦋 In the warm months, you’ll see lots of native plants, wildflowers and butterflies in our yard as a result. Please note: While we welcome pets of all kinds, we do not allow pet parents into our home. We want to make sure we are protecting the privacy and security of our children and their space. Also: we have 4 kids (see: mini-zoo reference above) it can be a mess up in here sometimes! 🤣
“I was able to book Troy on short notice, which was very helpful. He was prompt, friendly, and my dog was instantly comfortable with him. I’d definitely recommend Troy and plan to book him again in the future!”

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and have over 7 years of hands-on pet care experience. Growing up with dogs taught me how to understand their different personalities and needs. I also have a Shih Tzu of my own, so I know how important it is to provide pets with love, patience, and a safe environment. In addition, I’ve cared for my sister’s dogs, helping with feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, and making sure they feel comfortable while she’s away. I understand that every dog is unique, and I’ll treat your pet with the same love and care I give my own. You can count on me to provide reliable, attentive, and compassionate care while you’re away. I currently work part-time at a daycare, which has helped me become responsible, patient, and dependable. I’m fully available on Thursdays and Fridays, and I’m available Monday through Wednesday after 8:00 p.m. I’m hoping to make pet care my full-time career through Rover, so I’m committed to providing reliable, loving, and attentive care for every pet. I’ll always make sure your furry family member gets the attention, exercise, and affection they deserve while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I’ll take the time to learn your dog’s routine, feeding schedule, and any special needs so they receive the best care possible. I have a friendly Shih Tzu of my own, and I always make sure introductions are done safely and only if everyone is comfortable. Whether we’re going on leashed walks, playing, or relaxing at home, I’ll provide a safe, clean, and loving environment. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands.
About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover with years of hands-on experience caring for pups of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I’ve grown up around dogs, have two of my own, and have also spent time fostering dogs—so I’m very comfortable caring for dogs from all kinds of backgrounds, including those who may need a little extra patience, attention, or love. I provide attentive, reliable care tailored to your dog’s unique needs—whether that means long walks, playtime to burn energy, or a calm, comforting environment. My fostering experience has taught me how to read different behaviors, adapt quickly, and help dogs feel safe and at home. You can expect regular updates, clear communication, and peace of mind while you’re away. I treat every dog like they’re part of my own family and strive to make their time with me fun, stress-free, and full of love. I’d love to meet you and your pup! I work remotely and have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to give your dog plenty of time, attention, and care throughout the day. I’m able to prioritize their needs—whether that’s sticking to a specific routine, getting outside for walks, or just providing companionship so they’re never left alone for long. My flexible schedule also means I can easily adapt to what works best for your pet, helping them feel comfortable, relaxed, and right at home. I’m great at adapting to each dog’s unique personality and energy level. If your pup is high-energy, I’m always happy to go on long walks, runs, or have active play sessions to keep them happy and engaged. If they’re more of a couch potato, I’m just as content slowing things down—whether that means relaxing together, giving plenty of pets, or simply keeping them company. My time as a foster dog mom has given me experience with all kinds of temperaments, from shy and nervous to energetic and playful. I’ve learned to be patient, attentive, and responsive to each dog’s needs, always taking the time to help them feel safe, comfortable, and at ease. My goal is to meet every dog where they’re at so they feel understood, supported, and truly cared for.

About: Interacting with animals has always been the highlight of my day. I have a decade of professional experience with pet care, primarily dogs and cats, but small animals and exotics as well. I have a beloved senior dog and a giant day gecko at home, but I grew up around a large range of animals, including dogs, birds, lizards, frogs, rodents and sugar gliders. I also have a bachelor's degree in biology with a particular interest in animals and plants. As a result, I have the experience, knowledge and passion to provide the high-quality care you're looking for. I currently have a very flexible schedule, which means that I am able to devote plenty of time and attention to your animals. I will keep in touch with you while your precious pets are under my care, so you won't have to worry about their safety and comfort. I am happy to provide detailed updates and photos of the time they spend with me. I would love an opportunity to work with your family! I'm between jobs right now, so I'm able to provide even more time for your pets. When I do find my next job, I will be sure to give advance notice to any clients potentially affected by the change in addition to updating my profile. I will respect any rules and routines of your household so that you and your pets will be as comfortable as possible. I am always careful when opening doors to prevent escapes and take any specific safety concerns for your individual pets into account.

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life, of all shapes and sizes. I love all animals. I’ve grown up with working dogs, big dogs, feral cats, farm animals, horses, and everything in between. I am always willing to go for midday lunch walks (in the Ankeny/Polk City area) or weekend check ins in the metro, while you are out and about being social. My husband works blue collar, so sometimes I have a lot of time to myself while he’s working, I’d love to fill in with walks at night or weekends in the Highland Park/Saylor TWP/Beaverdale areas, but willing to venture out into the metro. I am always very cautious when going in for my furry friends for walks, making sure they are safe. I’m full of love and attention and energy to burn so I’d love a buddy. And if any of you are owners of little anxious dogs you know this is a big deal!! Missy also did a great job communicating with us and sending tons of photos which we appreciated. Having Bella stay with Missy made us feel at ease, allowing us to enjoy our trip to the fullest knowing Bella was in good hands. Would highly recommend booking with Missy and I’m sure Bella looks forward to her next visit!”

“Shaelea is great to work with. She has watched my dog twice now. She is very friendly and a great communicator. She accepted my fairly last-minute request, which was so helpful. I highly recommend her to others.”
