Great accommodation for our dogs Shirley and Momo. They seemed to have a great time at summer camp with Julie! They got plenty of socialization with other dogs and Julie was very kind to provide us with updates, photos and videos of our dogs playing while we were away. Thanks Julie!

Wow! Auntie Kathy and her gorgeous gaggle of goldens are the BEST! I cannot say enough about how incredible our experience with Kathy was. She is beyond the best. She is super responsive and took incredible car of my guy. Daily walks to the park, tons of exercise, wonderful homemade treats, big yard, and great company. What more could a golden want? I highly recommend — your pet will love her!

Diane was a tremendous host. My dog, Buddy, was welcomed in by her and her ohana with open arms on relatively short notice without hesitation. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and wonderful person to watch your dog on Hawaii island.

Dale and Miyi were absolutely wonderful with my dog, Rio! From the moment we met, I felt confident leaving Rio in their care. They kept me updated with messages and photos, and I could tell Rio was having a great time going on hikes, playing at the beach and hanging with their sweet dog Malo. When I returned, Rio was happy, healthy, and clearly very well looked after. It’s such a relief to have someone I trust—I'll definitely be using their services again!

I visited Randy at her home beforehand and immediately felt comfortable leaving my dog in her care. She welcomed us with a very friendly dog, and it was clear right away that she truly loves dogs (and other animals). Her place is wonderful for dogs — spacious, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. Randy is warm, friendly, calm, compassionate, and very accommodating to your needs. I’m sure my dog had a great time with her and made some new dog friends. I would happily leave my dog with her again. I also briefly met her husband, and he seemed very kind and sweet. Thank you, Randy and William, for taking such good care of my dog!

About: I have had both cats and dogs since I was in Kindergarten. Friends and neighbors have trusted me with their pet care needs for years. I have been on Rover for over 3 years now and am a trusted and reliable sitter. I oftentimes watch senior dogs, some with medical needs. I am very attuned to what animals need and give them tons of love and attention. It is a reciprocal relationship where we both appreciate the company and cuddles. When boarding dogs, my mom also loves dogs and is able to provide them with much love and attention when I need to be at work. She lives in the house and enjoys helping out with our furry guests. Your pet will most likely not be alone for more than an hour. I am very active and enjoy taking dogs on long walks. I always adhere to the pup's acitivity level and age. I have also cared for a neglected pitbull terrier in my old neighborhood. The dog was chained all the time and not cared for. I asked the owners if I could walk him daily. I have removed ticks and groomed him in an effort to provide some much needed attention and TLC. I have sought out medical care for the dog and helped to build a better shelter. I have also worked to educate the family on what it means to be a dog owner and treat the pup like a family member. Dogs just yearn to protect and be close to thier pack (owners). I still walk him to this day even though I no longer live in the neighborhood. The dog can be aggressive with other people and animals but is always affectionate towards me. I had to train the dog how to walk on a leash as it had not been walked in years. At first, the dog was a bit wild and did not know what to do. Now, he can heel and listens to commands. He even sits for some treats! I know how to use caution and practice safety measures when walking the dog so that others and the aggressive dog are kept safe and unharmed. I have a bleeding heart for animals. I am great with animals of all ages, personalities, and fitness levels! I am a social worker and love to give pets as much attention as possible! I am sensitive to their needs and always make sure your pet is comfortable. I treat them as one of my own. I am available to dog-sit/ house-sit or board most dogs as long as they are house trained.

About: Aloha! I'm Shanon, a naturopathic physician who loves to take care of pets in people's homes. I began caring for my neighbor's cat when I was 10 years old, graduating to dog care in my teens. Since then I have done pet sits in many states and countries, seeing some pets through their lifetimes. My clients have included dogs, cats, bunnies, tortoises, snails, fish and birds. I have also cared for chickens and horses and am willing to look after small farm animals such as goats and sheep. If requested, I take care of gardens/plants, mail/packages and any other issues that may arise while you are gone. Want local or distance references? There are many. Please ask for them! I look forward to hearing from you. Aloha, Shanon Much of my work is online so that I can spend the maximum amount of time with your furry, feathered and scaled friends - I aim to be at home 75% of the time. I treat all pets as my own so they get the attention, love and care they deserve. My services can also include administering medication (pills, subcutaneous injections for cats, insulin shots etc). I strive for your home to be in the same, if not better condition than when you left, and for your pets to be as well-tended to when you are away as when you are home.

About: I approach every job with a heart of service, integrity, and compassion. I believe animals are a beautiful part of God’s creation, and I’m committed to caring for every pet with the same love, patience, and responsibility I would want for my own. My goal is to provide each pet with a safe, loving, and nurturing environment while giving their owners peace of mind. Pet care isn’t just a side job for me—it’s a meaningful part of my daily life. I structure my schedule around the pets I care for, giving each visit the time and attention it deserves. I care for pets in their own home, where they feel most safe and comfortable. I stick closely to their normal routine, including: Feeding and Medication: I follow all meal schedules and medication instructions exactly as provided. Cleanliness: I refresh litter boxes, clean up any messes, and ensure food and water areas stay tidy. Exercise and Play: I engage with your pets through play, walks, or enrichment—depending on their age, energy level, and personality. Updates for You: I send daily photos and notes, so you never have to wonder how things are going. Home Care Touches: I also bring in mail, water plants, or adjust lights and blinds to give your home a lived-in feel while you're away.

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve cared for dogs, cats, small animals, and hoofed animals, and my experience extends far beyond pet ownership. I hold bachelor’s degrees in biology, psychology, and anthropology. My studies in animal behavior, physiology, and research help me better understand animal body language, behavior, and individual needs. Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide variety of species, including exotic hoofstock and birds in a zoological setting, as well as pigs, goats, and birds through wildlife rescue and animal care work. I also volunteered in an animal shelter environment for approximately three years, where I handled and photographed thousands of dogs to help them find loving homes. Through that experience, I became comfortable working with dogs of all sizes, ages, temperaments, and energy levels. I have experience administering medications and genuinely enjoy caring for senior pets who may need a little extra patience and attention. I’m also passionate about exercise and an active lifestyle and am happy to provide outdoor walks and enrichment for energetic pets. In addition to my animal background, I hold a master’s degree in counseling, which has strengthened my communication skills, patience, and ability to remain calm and attentive in a variety of situations. Whether your pet is outgoing, shy, energetic, or senior, my goal is to provide reliable, compassionate care tailored to their individual personality and routine so both you and your pet feel comfortable and at ease. I’m a small business owner and public school teacher, which gives me a structured yet flexible schedule that works well for pet care. I generally have the most availability on weekends, school holidays, and breaks—especially during the summer months—when I can provide extended, consistent care and house sitting. During the school year, I’m typically available in the mornings and evenings on weekdays, with greater flexibility on weekends. I’m always happy to discuss specific dates and needs to see what works best for your pet’s routine. I value consistency, communication, and reliability so that pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for, and owners can enjoy peace of mind while they’re away. I provide pet care in my clients’ homes, where I focus on maintaining each pet’s normal routine in the environment where they feel most comfortable. I follow all care instructions closely and make sure feeding, walks, medication, and daily routines are completed on time and as directed. I treat every home with a high level of respect and care, keeping spaces clean, organized, and exactly as I found them. I’m mindful of both the pet’s needs and the owner’s home, and I prioritize reliability, safety, and consistency in every visit or stay. I also believe clear communication is essential, so I provide updates as needed to give owners peace of mind while they’re away.

About: I've been involved in animal care since I was child. From new born pups needing bottle fed to senior dogs needing meds, I've done it all. I enjoy all animals, but big, active dogs who love exercise and mental stimulation really bring me joy. I've dog sat for Great Danes, Mastiffs, Pitties, I have no problem with size and strength. Special diets, picky eaters, no problem I am an artist and house/pet sitter. I often have sits scheduled months in advance, but sometimes there are empty spots in my schedule that can be filled with a weekend sit or daily check ins. I’m an active person and walking/hiking is always better with a furry companion. I really feel that keeping animals comfortable in their own homes while your away is much less stressful and better for your pet. Missing their humans is stressful enough, keeping them in their environment where they feel safe and connected to their humans means a lot. I don't mind lap dogs or snuggle bugs, and have no problem if they are used to sleeping in the bed with humans. If they are not allowed on furniture and beds I'll follow your rules and wishes. My dog was my world so I understand how important it is to have someone treating your pet like a family member.

My husband and I were nervous about leaving our 8 month old blue heeler with a dog sitter because we had never left him with anyone before. Zakk was a very soft spoken easy going dog sitter that our energetic blue heeler pup took to right away. Zakk met us a local dog park, and to our surprise, Jax hopped right into his car to go spend the day with him. Zakk and his dog played with Jax and him on a hike. When we picked Jax up at the end of the day he was exhausted and happy.

Katy is great with my dog Charley. She is very reliable and on time. Whenever I mention to Charley that he needs to get ready for his walk with Katy, he gets so excited as we put his collar on. About: Aloha: My experience goes back to my childhood, where I helped my mother breed and raise Cocker Spaniel puppies. I have always owned animals, including cats during my college years, and our family has cared for goats, dogs, chickens, and rabbits. I am very comfortable with puppies and experienced in fostering their training process, committing to the consistency necessary for a dog's development. Furthermore, I have experience caring for elderly animals at the end of their life cycles, including administering medicine and providing extra care. I have also attended to animals with various injuries. My primary strength is maintaining consistent routines, which I believe is essential for helping an animal feel loved and safe. Regarding equine experience, I have basic ground work skills with horses and donkeys. As my children have been riding since age three, I have had many opportunities to groom, feed, clean hooves, and ensure there are no external injuries from the ground. I appreciate your time and consideration. Aloha:  Our ohana owns a 3-acre property on the Big Island, where we are blessed with three outdoor rescue cats, three rescue dogs, and two Nubian goats. As a dedicated mother and wife, caretaking is truly my blueprint. Caring for animals and providing house-sitting services for a "staycation" fits perfectly with my passion for animals. It also provides me with a wonderful opportunity to take some time for myself to relax and rejuvenate. I love to excercise walking dogs is my joy. I love to nurture and cuddle animals . I am a mama of 2o yrs thus I am always detail oriented regarding health. Our ohana is currently blessed with three rescue female dogs, three female outdoor rescue cats, and two Nubian goats. As they are a vital part of our family, they receive a high level of love and nurturing daily. My responsibilities and experience in caring for them include: - Daily Care: Managing daily feeding schedules and ensuring all animals are well-nourished. - Exercise and Training: Taking the dogs on regular walks around the neighborhood and maintaining up-to-date training. I have also personally trained our puppies. - Health and Wellness: Regularly checking all animals for health irregularities, administering natural medications when necessary, and staying current on goat vaccinations. - Goat Management: Grooming the goats, cleaning the barn, and providing them with nutrient-rich supplements. We take great pride in providing a healthy and loving environment for all our rescues. Please let me know if you need any further information.

I also have reviews on airbnb. have over 10 years of experience in shelter, boarding, and clinical care environment. My family also has 3 pets, (2 cats and 1 dog), that lives at my parents house. I truly enjoy interacting with and caring for animals. I believe every animal should be treated the way you want to be treated. I do understand the necessary care for your animal. I know I will be a great fit for you and your pet. I am also am a pet/house sitter on house sitters of America. I have traveled all over the country pet sitting. Each sit is customized based on your specific requirements, ensuring the best care for your fur baby.

Athena was great to work with. She responded right away to our dog-walking request and even rearranged her schedule a little bit to make sure she got to meet our two dogs (they liked her immediately). She is great about communicating. She sent photos and updates after each walk, which made me feel reassured that they were in good hands. I would not hesitate to use Athena's services again!

About: **I AM TRAVELING OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY STARTING 5/20/26 AND WILL BE BLOCKING MY CALENDAR TILL I KNOW I WILL RETURN. ** I travel off island often and can't have my own puppy family, so I will watch your fur-babies like they are my own! I enjoy the adventure of pup-sitting at homes all over the island. I work remotely so am able to be away from my place for long stretches of time. While I like to explore the local areas I stay in, I will mostly be snuggled up with your fur-babies typing away. I am a veteran with Rover- In fact I have been pet-sitting before Rover existed using Craigslist. I have a huge love for all animals and am very experienced with caring for different types of animals and breeds. I am patient, and gentle with a huge heart for animals. I understand every household has different culture. I always try and mimic all the rules of the home. Pets not allowed on the couch? no problem. Dogs like to sleep in the bed with owners? I am an expert puppy snugger. Perhaps the best. I will try and reinforce all commands and rules so there is a seamless transition upon your return. When dog-sitting in your home I will leave it better than I found it and happily respect boundaries and house rules. * My property is in Hilo but I am open to sitting at homes all over the island. In fact, I love to! I will text picture updates to my clients so they feel comforted that their sweetheart is being loved on. Why I love dog sitting: I had a Golden Retriever rescue for over 15 years till he passed 10 years ago. I travel a lot and didn't think it was fair to get another dog, but have been pet sitting since. I LOVE having dog energy still around... and the friendships I have made with my puppy parents. For my lifestyle it's the best of both worlds! I work remotely so am very flexible with my schedule and love having pets around to love on while exploring new and interesting locations on this beautiful island. My place is in Hilo but am open to doing pet sit stays all around the Big Island. Initial meeting can be done with a zoom call before meet and greet if too far from my area. I can also do house drop in visits if it coordinates with my location at the time needed. Right now I am primarily house sitting since my property does not have a fenced yard. I will match your schedule as best as possible and take care of your place the way you desire.
