I work about 45 minutes away from their house so he would have been alone for 12 hours as his doggie daycare was full. Kara was extremely responsive and helped guide me through the process of how to use rover (as it was my first time). All responses were probably within 15 minutes of my messages so I felt good about the booking. She stopped by twice during the day to let him out into the yard for some potty and play and from the many photos that she sent he seemed to absolutely love having her there with him! She followed all of my instructions perfectly and had no problem figuring out what to do while I was at work which helped take some of the stress off of me. My only complaint is that she doesn’t live closer to my own house so that I could book her as an ongoing client because it worked out so well! I wanted to start dog sitting specifically for military families, so you can be confident your pets are in good hands for an affordable price when you need to leave the island or are working long hours! About: I have taken care of animals ever since I was 5 years old. I owned 4 dogs, and my oldest childhood dog was an 16 English cocker spaniel. I also have taken care of my eldest sister’s two dogs named Duke and Rousey who are high energy dogs that I take on walks at least twice a day. I have another childhood dog I take care of, Lily who is a Labrador Chihuahua Mix with a little social anxiety. I know how to give dogs oral medication to making sure that they are well taken care of if given a strict schedule. Senior care is a skill of mine, especially having to learn how to take care of my own senior animals and how important it is when it comes to comfortability and making sure they have enough loving to keep them calm throughout the day. I am currently a student at University of Hawaii West Oahu and all my classes are online so my schedule is extremely flexible if anything is needed. Before our trip, she took the time to meet with us and show us where our puppy would be staying in her home, which made us feel so much more comfortable and confident. While we were away for nearly two weeks, Samantha kept us updated with frequent messages and adorable photos. It meant so much to know our puppy was happy, safe, and well cared for while we were gone. What impressed us even more was that she actually helped reinforce our puppy's potty training during our time away. We came home to a puppy who had continued making progress, which was such a pleasant surprise! About: Dogs have always been a big part of my life, and I have experience caring for them at every stage—from raising two puppies to rescuing a dog and caring for my Siberian Husky (Madden) through his senior years until he was 14. That experience taught me the patience, attention, and specialized care that older dogs often need. I also currently have a happy, active 4-year-old setter/pointer (Savannah), so I understand the importance of exercise, play, and maintaining a consistent routine. My goal is to make your dog feel safe, comfortable, and loved while giving you complete peace of mind. I work from home full-time, your dog will receive plenty of attention, supervision, potty breaks, and companionship throughout the day. Every dog is unique, and I'll provide personalized care based on their needs while keeping you updated with regular photos and messages. I have a fenced in yard for quick potty breaks. There is also a nice lagoon walk in my neighborhood for a nice longer walk. The beach is also only 10 minutes away and walks on the beach are always a plus!
About: I petsit frequently for family, friends and neighbors for weeks at a time in my home and their homes. I have years of experience around all kinds of different animals. I understand different personalities in pets and can work around them. I stay at home with my two kids, who love animals. My schedule is always open so I am able to follow a unique routine. I have a large fenced in yard with plenty of toys, energetic kids and two cats. One cat likes to play outside while the other stays inside. I have rooms set up in my home for animals who prefer to be by themselves.
“Let me first preface with there's not enough good things to say about our experience with Ashley! She deserves more than 5 Stars! Suffice to say, we have found a permanent boarder for our Husky, Hana! Quick, efficient and detailed updates and correspondence with plenty of photos. Our puppy Hana, is a delicate flower, very timid and practically scared of her own shadow when around strangers or in public, but it was in her stars to have someone like Ashley whom gave her the compassionate, loving care she needs. It's obvious the experience was exceptionally good for her, as she has matured so fast in just 2 weeks of boarding. We have to be thankful as well of Ashley's fur-baby Apollo, as having a grown husky to show our pup the ropes has helped her come out of her shell further. Ashley then went a step further with follow up correspondence to ensure Hana had a nice transition back home. We're so thankful, Mahalo nui loa!”
