I grew up with cats and a dog but once I got married my husband was allergic to cats so I never got to own my own cat. But I foster dogs on the side! About: I had three miniature dachshunds until they all eventually passed away from old age. I treated them as if they were children. I am very in tune with an animal’s needs and emotions. Animals that I have never met before, usually take to me right away. When I cared for my father-in-law’s dog for two weeks, he did not want to return home with him….lol. I hate to see any animal suffer or be in danger. I go as far to remove turtles from the road so that they do not get hit and I have tried to save numerous injured birds in the wild. Animals, especially, dogs, provide so much unconditional love. I am a retired law enforcement officer. Thus, I have a lot of availability. I am available Sunday-Saturday 24 hours as long as I am provided at least a short notice. I have a fenced in back yard that I always ensure is securely locked at all times. I would pet proof home ensure no medications or cleaning products, etc are accessible to pets. Also, I would only feed what the owner wanted the pet to be fed.

I work full-full time, M-F 7am-4:30pm. I enjoy running and also hiking the various mountains around the North Georgia area, but also love to curl up on the couch and watch TV for hours at a time. Whatever amount of activity your pet may need I am able to provide it. I have been a [people] nurse for 20+ years, giving me the confidence to take care of daily medication and/or exercises that may be needed for your pet. House sitting can be arranged for extended periods, but please note that I do work away from home 40+ hours a week M-F. I do not care for pets within my home any longer but would love for you to trust me to come into your pets home and provide the level of love and care that you give them when you are home. Each pet has different needs and I try to quickly figure out how much attention and care they need to not feel sad that you are not home.

I pay attention to feeding schedules, walking routines, playtime, and any specific instructions provided. About: I’m a biggg animal lover, a vegan of 10 years, former animal shelter worker & doggy foster mom🤍 a few years ago, I rescued my dog, Blue. Working with trainers for my own dog has deepened my commitment to positive reinforcement and understanding each dog’s unique needs. I currently only work 3 days a week, so I’m usually free the rest of my days off. I’m pretty flexible on scheduling things if you have any last minute needs. I work night shift, so if your dog is fine being left alone overnight let me know and I can board longer than my listed days! I have a pet cam to keep an eye on them overnight. Dog walking/drop-ins: I can come to your home, feed your pup breakfast/dinner, take them out for a quick potty break, play time, or go on a super long walk to tire them out! I’d love to know your dog’s routine, likes/dislikes, an level of energy! Doggy day care: Your dog can hang with me & mine for the day! Guaranteed fun times, cuddles, walks! I love making my space a welcoming & calm environment. I consider myself active, so if your dog is up for adventures/hikes, let me know! Your dog must be house trained & friendly with other dogs. Boarding: If your dog is being boarded with me, they’ll need to be friendly with other dogs, including my playful pup and occasionally my roommate’s small Shih Tzu-Yorkie mix. They also must be dropped off with a crate. I want to make sure they are safe & happy!
