Right now, we have a sweet 2-year-old Italian Greyhound, so I understand the energy, patience, and consistency that come with caring for a young dog. About: We adopted our first pups in 2004 and cared for them for 18 pup-snuggled years. During that time, and since then, we have rescued, fostered and adopted animals of all kinds to include chickens, ducks and a pig named Kevin Bacon! Currently, we're home to Guinevere, the mild-mannered, 6 year-old rescued mutt. We do have an 11-year-old hooman "puppy" who is just as loving and respectful of animals as we are. We will love and care for your fur-babies as if they were our very own. We are home almost all day, every day, so your pet will never be alone. I homeschool our son, and my husband works from home. Your pet will have ample opportunities to play outside in our 1/2 acre back yard. Our neighborhood is very quiet with houses situated on ~acre lots. We have neighbors with dogs, but they usually just run over to the fence to say hello and then go about their business. In our home, your fur-babies can roam freely, and they will have access to our 1/2, partially shaded, completely fenced-in back yard as often as they need. If your dog is one who prefers walks, our peaceful neighborhood has lots of places to explore; there is a nice park 1/2 mile away where they can sniff around where all of the turtles and ducks like to hang out. Pups who stay with us overnight are welcome to stay in their crate (if that's what they prefer), anywhere in the house, and, likely, on one of our beds.

About: Dogs are a gift from heaven. It’s important to understand them and give them the same unconditional respect, compassion and love they give to us. I am a mother of two beautiful dogs one named Simba (with mom in France), and my princess named Angel. She was in the shelter her whole life. I was told it would be tough to accommodate her to a normal life, but I realized that all she needed was to feel loved, safe and mostly by my side forever! She understood from the moment I rescued her that she had a furrrever home :) Also, I’m a dual citizen, French and American, so if your dog comes home speaking French don’t be surprised 😁 Availability is based upon demand. I accommodate as much as possible to make sure your baby will be taken care of at the time needed. Learning more about the pet by asking their owners the routine, character, likes or dislikes, but mostly I observe the pet and follow directions given to me.

Currently, I have a healthy 5 year old Merle long haired chihuahua named Hugo. He is the alpha and prefers to be with female dogs that are calm and submissive. He likes to sleep for most of the day. If I am watching your dog at my house and your dog and Hugo don’t get along, Hugo is happy to go over to his grandparents house to get spoiled by them :) In 2022, my 18 year old chihuahua and best friend passed away. He had a long life and during his last few years, I put my RN experience to work and became his dog nurse giving him eye drops, ear drops, and oral medications. I've had roommates with cats and large dogs (Lab, pit bull, corgi) in the past, and I have experience helping to take care of them as well. About: While I’m new to Rover, I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life and have always been a big dog lover. In 2022, my family got our dog Roxi, who is like my best friend. With Roxi, I’ve been fully involved in everything, walking her, feeding her, training her, and making sure she stays active and happy. I’ve also grown up helping to look after family dogs when relatives go away, so I’m used to different personalities and routines. I’m originally from Ireland and recently moved to Florida after completing my MBA at Marshall University in West Virginia. I now coach youth soccer, so I’m very active, responsible, and used to being around people (and animals) all the time. Moving to the U.S. has been a big change for me, and being away from my family and my own dog has definitely made me miss them a lot, and it’s made me appreciate even more how much I love being around dogs every day. I’d say I’m quite laid-back, reliable, and easy to get along with. I like being outdoors, staying active, and I’m always up for a walk or keeping a dog company rather than just sitting around. I’m also very respectful of people’s homes and routines, and I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. I know how much dogs mean to their owners because mine means everything to me, so I always treat every dog like they’re part of my own family. I’m happy to send updates and photos as well, so owners feel completely comfortable while they’re away. Right now, I coach soccer in the evenings during the week and sometimes on weekends, usually for a couple of hours. Outside of that, my schedule is very flexible. I’m generally available in the mornings, afternoons, and often evenings for walks, drop-ins, and house sitting. My coaching hours are not long, so I’m able to work around pet care easily and adjust my schedule when needed. I take care of pets in their own homes so they can stay comfortable in a familiar environment. I make sure they’re well looked after with things like feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, and giving medication if needed. I also keep things clean and stick to their usual routine as much as possible. I always spend time with the pets too, whether that’s playing with them or just keeping them company so they don’t feel lonely while you’re away. I’m happy to send regular updates and photos so you know how they’re doing. I treat every pet like my own and make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for the whole time.

About: I've had pets for many years now, ranging from cats and dogs to fish. I've had experience caring for both senior dogs and cats, as well as kittens and puppies, and pretty much everything in between. “I am so glad I chose Laura to watch my dog on my four day family trip. I had never left my girl with anyone other than family members before, and had no idea what to expect, and it ended up being so simple and more than just pleasant for myself and my furbaby. She was given the best treatment, was treated like my family treats her, maybe even better for those four days, and I got updates with pictures and videos everyday, which was so nice since I am a self proclaimed obsessive dog mom. I never had to worry from the start because Laura was so communicative. She got tons of walks and treats, was allowed to live in her house as apart of their home/family for that time, and quickly got comfortable, likely because of the welcoming calming energy Laura and her home has. My girl is well behaved but I know that Laura actively prevented any anxiety to the best of her ability which guaranteed her best behavior.
