“Background: First dog ever. 4.5 month old German Shepherd puppy that we had only owned for 1.5 months. We had purposely kept her away from other dogs due to vet recommending we wait until she received her 2nd round of shots. Also have not had much chance to socialize her with new people. Simply put, we didn’t think she’d be an issue with other people and dogs but didn’t know for sure. Needed a dog sitter due to flying out of state to attend a funeral. Zara was hesitant since we hadn’t had her long enough to know what her reaction would be especially since she had 3 dogs herself, one being a little chihuahua, but was willing to give it a try since we had no one else (all our friends and family had already said no). She volunteered to watch our puppy for one night, free of charge. That night went really well, at which point she was willing to take the job (and even gave us a large bag of puppy food she had received for her rescue!). We think it was a good experience for our puppy - she had a chance to run around and socialize with dogs of all shapes and sizes. And due to her experience with rescuing and working with dogs in the past, we have a better idea of what training we need to work on with our puppy and what areas we need to concentrate on. And as a new dog owner too new to know how dogs behave and how to address certain issues, she’s given me tips on what to do and has offered herself as a future resource for advice (of which I fully plan to take advantage of). I would definitely re-book Zara again. It was a good experience not just for our puppy, but for us as well.”

About: Dogs have always been part of my family, from Beagles to Bullies and up to three in a home at a time. Friends and family have trusted me with caring for their animals on a fairly regular basis doing anything from food/bathroom check-ins to walks and dog park visits. Experienced walking three medium sized dogs at once. Comfortable with elderly dogs and their needs, including handling seizures and the appropriate care. I'm less experienced with cats but have had and loved them all the same, my only hesitation being allergies from extended exposure to some. Currently open to just about anything. I'm recovering from health issues and have much more free time since losing my dog, they just bring me a ton of joy and caring for them is good for the soul. I'm very affectionate with animals and rely heavily on positive reinforcement/praise, they're very much part of the family and not just pets to me. I understand their physical, mental and emotional requirements and do my best to meet or exceed them. About: Hi paw friends 🐾 I am somewhat new to Rover but I have grown up with dogs my entire life. I have always helped my family and friends care for their animals and I always enjoyed doing it. My husband and I got married four years ago and our little girl is three. It's amazing to see her interact with the dogs because she gets more comfortable and happier each time. We will eventually get a dog when the time is right, but I love Rover because it’s give me the opportunity to still bond with pups. I truly love being around animals. Our families sometimes come to stay with us with their dogs and I get a crazy burst of happiness every time. We are back to boarding pups after taking a few years off, but we are still just as dedicated to providing top notch pet care as we were when we started. Brief summary of what you can expect: We offer outside playtime morning, afternoon and night, frequent access to our large fenced in back yard, LOTS of hugs and kisses for all fur children and the occasional treat as well. Your pup will have free run or our home, sleep where they want and be treated as part of the family, which means they will be spoiled! To help determine if your pup is a good fit. please note: - WE DO NOT TAKE AGGRESSIVE dogs under any circumstances - Unfortunately, we no longer take special needs dogs suffering from incontinence, sight or hearing impairments - We do not provide 24/7 coverage during weekdays and dogs may be left alone for roughly 4 hours a couple times during the week - All dogs must be able to navigate stairs to gain access to the backyard - We aim to be flexible with drop off & pick up times on weekends, but during the week hours are from 2:00 to 7:00 PM We are pet parents 24 hours and include the pets in all our activities. I provide a premium, low-volume dog care experience for owners who want their dog to have more one-on-one attention in a calm home environment. Your dog won’t be just one of many in a crowded space. I have a big yard for dogs to enjoy, but my indoor space is smaller, so I am very intentional about keeping the number of dogs low. About: I have several years of paid and volunteer experience with all animals, including dogs, cats, fish, chickens, rabbits, horses, and goats. Growing up, I had two dogs, one small and one medium. I also used to volunteer at a therapeutic horse-riding center for people with disabilities, where I groomed horses and cleaned their barns. “Kevin was amazing. My dog, Scruffy is very shy, but he got comfortable with Kevin and his dog very quickly. It was evident that Scruffy had a pleasant stay with Kevin, and he’ll be back soon 👍 Bonus: Scruffy also smelled nice (like himself) when he got home. When Scruffy stays with other sitters, he usually comes home smelling like other dogs for a few days. It was definitely a bonus (for me) that it didn’t take a few days for Scruffy to smell like himself again, haha.”

Communication was easy and consistent, and we felt completely comfortable knowing our pup was in good hands. Sampson is pretty easygoing, but it was clear he was treated with attention and kindness. “Alan and Luis take such great care of our Hiro. He now knows their house and gets so excited in the car when we pull up to the driveway he can barely contain himself. He does still act like a lab puppy, and tends to try to eat everything, but they have always been very patient and understanding with him. We trust them completely to take great care of our boy when we are out of town.”

“We are so grateful to have found Jill and her family to watch our Charlotte! What a lovely and comforting experience. We met Jill a month before Charlotte stayed with the family, and she was gracious and kind. Gave us a tour of her home and some time for Charlotte to meet her and their family dog Tucker ( a super sweetie). Jill was super flexible about pickup/dropoff, and responds quickly. We very much appreciated all of the pictures she sent to us of Charlotte during her stay (it looks like she rotated between everyone's laps - her favorite thing!). When I picked Charlotte up, she was calm and happy. She got along fine with Tucker which makes us happy for him too, and Jill's daughter's were super sweet with her. It's a comfort to know that Charlotte is being loved when she stays will Jill just as she is when home with us, and now we can go away with peace of mind. Definitely recommend Jill and her lovely family to care for your furry children.”
