“This was our very first time leaving our dog Scarlet with a sitter other than family and needless to say I was a bit anxious...but after our meet and great day I knew Patrick and Susan were the sitters for her! It was definitely like a home away from home feel. They had a great set-up in their home and yard for Scarlet to feel comfortable. They are very caring and went above and beyond with Scarlet. The day we were supposed to drop Scarlet off, she had developed a sore on her hind leg and Patrick and Susan were so wonderful and reassuring that they would take good care of it. We were taking a trip for a week out of the country and felt so comfortable knowing Scarlet was in great hands! All the photos, texts and updates on Scarlet were even more reassuring! She honors whatever your routine is, as I wanted my dog to sleep in her soft crate and be fed twice a day with pottie breaks every 4hrs. She is very reliable, dependable, efficient and a total sweetheart! She knows how to slowly introduce dogs and makes sure everyone is safe and comfortable besides having fun! I was so calm knowing that my Lola was in good hands and given so much attention by her, her family, and the other dogs! A definite 5 star rating in my book!”

About: Hello! I’ve been caring for animals since I was 12 years old and got my first dog sitting gig. Over the years, my family has had every kind of pet: horses, sheep, dogs, cats, birds, iguanas even! I find great joy in showing the animals I work with lots of love and guidance. I’ve trained my own and others' horses, dogs and cats over the years and it’s just the most rewarding experience. I work part time and mostly from home which allows me to be available all day to care for pets. I’m a big fan of a consistent routine with animals rotating stimulation (exercise, play, training or enrichment) meals, rest and balancing the three. I care for pets on my property which is almost entirely fenced in. I have professional kennels in a mixed use building with a residential portion attached. So I have the luxury of providing secure stalls with the addition of our open more homey areas. I can take most types of pets and I’m especially suited to care for animals that do not do well in large boarding facilities, don’t do well with other pets or just want a more personalized, quiet boarding experience. I don’t believe it is always necessary to socialize dogs with dogs and right now that’s not something I do (unless they are boarding from the same owners). I focus on routine, a bit of training and connection with humans! I have a fenced in run where dogs can be off leash for playing, enrichment etc. I designed our kennels myself and had them custom built. Each stall is separated by concrete walls to provide a private and safe space. I chose mental fencing for the top of the partition and the door. I chose this instead of the plastic, glass or solid door options because it provides optimal airflow and allows them to see out. I also have private suites separate from that area.

“Paul is a wonderful addition to my dog’s routine! I was scrambling to figure out what to do on my 12 hour days with my newly adopted rescue female pit mix when classes started this Fall. After reviewing a few profiles, Paul’s really stuck out as someone with both passion and genuine knowledge about dogs/dog behavior. I asked him to come meet my dog before we officially booked to ensure that she reacted well to him. Within the first few minutes, my dog was on her back requesting belly rubs. Needless to say, they hit it off! I feel very comfortable with Paul and SO pleased with how happy my dog looks in the pictures I get from their weekly walks. Even when she refuses to go outside in the rain, he spends time hanging out with her so she still gets some attention. I couldn’t be more appreciative and I’m sure my dog would 100% agree!”
About: I have been a lifelong animal lover since I was a little kid, My first pet being a sweet stray cat my family took in before I was even 5 years old. I have years of hands-on experience caring for and loving pets, my own of course and many others that have trusted me to care for theirs. I truly enjoy getting to know each pets personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable and loved while you're away on summer vacation or for a couple days on work. Regardless of age, energy level or if your dog/cat simply needs more snuggles, exercise or play time throughout the day. While I am new to Rover I have a lot of experience with things like daily dog walking, providing medications (pills, topical treatments,) house sitting, drop-in visits, dog walking and even boarding pets in my home. My home is spacious with 2 friendly cats and 2 well-socialized dogs who all coexist peacefully and are used to having new furry friends around for a temporary time. Pets in my home are all treated like family where they receive plenty of love, playtime, cuddles and socialized attention. My backyard is fenced in for safe outdoor exercise or just to hangout and catch a breeze on a nice day, my neighborhood also includes many quiet side streets for daily walking if needed. My home is air conditioned on those days that are just too hot and heated when it gets too cold. There is a big basket on the floor full with multiple types of toys, an easy accessible water bowl that's refilled at least 3xs per day, food or things on counter is not left anywhere that can be easily reached and harmful plants/chemicals to animals are not brought/used in my home.

Growing up I always had dogs and/or cats, as well as several other types of pets. I worked in a pet grooming salon for 6 1/2 years, and a doggy daycare for 1 year. I have also done pet walking and sitting for family and friends. I have owned and/or taken care of many different types of pets, including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, chinchillas, ferrets, rabbits, birds, hamsters, and mice. I do not currently own a dog or cat, but I volunteer with Our Companions in their Adopt a Shelter program spending time visiting and walking dogs in local shelters, and I have volunteered at their animal sanctuary in Ashford walking dogs. I am also in their Canine College program, taking and assisting in dog training classes. I enjoy using positive training techniques (treats and praise) to reinforce polite dog walking and attentive behaviors. I am comfortable walking dogs up to 70 lbs. I have recently retired, which gives me some flexibility, and I am participating in a Canine College dog training program. “This was our very first time leaving our dog Scarlet with a sitter other than family and needless to say I was a bit anxious...but after our meet and great day I knew Patrick and Susan were the sitters for her! It was definitely like a home away from home feel. They had a great set-up in their home and yard for Scarlet to feel comfortable. They are very caring and went above and beyond with Scarlet. The day we were supposed to drop Scarlet off, she had developed a sore on her hind leg and Patrick and Susan were so wonderful and reassuring that they would take good care of it. We were taking a trip for a week out of the country and felt so comfortable knowing Scarlet was in great hands! All the photos, texts and updates on Scarlet were even more reassuring! She honors whatever your routine is, as I wanted my dog to sleep in her soft crate and be fed twice a day with pottie breaks every 4hrs. She is very reliable, dependable, efficient and a total sweetheart! She knows how to slowly introduce dogs and makes sure everyone is safe and comfortable besides having fun! I was so calm knowing that my Lola was in good hands and given so much attention by her, her family, and the other dogs! A definite 5 star rating in my book!”
