About: Hi, I'm Susan! Animals have a way of making every day better, and I love returning the favor by giving them a safe, calm, and caring experience while their humans are away. I've been in Steamboat for over five years and have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets plenty of attention and reliable care. Whether your cat is playful and curious, loves chasing toys, or prefers a cozy nap in their favorite sunny spot, I'm happy to match their personality and routine. I understand that every cat is unique, and I take the time to earn their trust while making sure they feel comfortable and secure in their own home. I love taking pictures, so you'll receive plenty of photo updates to see exactly what your cat is up to while you're away! You can count on me to be: • Reliable and communicative • Patient with shy, senior, or independent cats • Respectful of your cat's routines and boundaries • Attentive to medications, feeding schedules, litter box care, and fresh water • Gentle, calm, and focused on making your cat feel safe and comfortable My goal is simple: I want your cat to feel relaxed and cared for while you're away, and I want you to have complete peace of mind knowing they're in loving hands. I can't wait to meet you and your feline family! Your pet's routine is my priority. I'll follow their usual schedule for meals, walks, exercise, potty breaks, playtime, medications, and downtime, helping them stay happy and comfortable while you're away. I'll make every day feel as normal and consistent as possible. I care for every pet as if they were my own, while respecting the routines and preferences you've established. Before we begin, I like to learn about your pet's personality, daily schedule, favorite activities, feeding routine, medications, and anything else that helps them feel comfortable. During each visit, I'll make sure your pet has everything they need, including fresh water, meals on schedule, exercise or playtime, potty breaks (for dogs), litter box cleaning (for cats), and plenty of attention and affection. Whether your pet is energetic and loves to play or prefers a calm companion, I'll tailor my care to what makes them happiest. When caring for pets in your home, I treat your space with the same respect I'd want someone to show mine. I'll keep everything clean and tidy, follow any instructions you've provided, and make sure your pet feels safe and secure in their familiar environment. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages after each visit, so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, well cared for, and in good hands.
“Hadley was wonderful with my older pup. She sent photos of their walks together and noted my dogs quirky behaviors. I will definitely use her again if I come back into town.”

“Elisabeth is phenomenal! She watched our pups for 5 days and provided them with the best care. She was very aware of each dog’s needs/rules and was so attentive. We also had some logistical complexity during our time in Steamboat, and she was so easy to work with, super communicative, and very helpful!”

I walk dogs at least 15 minutes every 4 hours.

“Our Murphy dog is a 12 1/2 year old Golden. Suzanne went out of her way to accommodate him and make sure he had both a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Suzanne was exceptional in her caretaking, and she has valuable canine behavioral training. I would not hesitate to book with Suzanne. We will be using her when we are back in Steamboat.”

“Jeannine took great care of my senior dog who required special medication and treatment during her stay while we were in Steamboat. Perfect place for her to nap and relax over the weekend!”

“Jessie did an amazing job boarding our dog for over two weeks during the holidays! Our dog made great friends with her Goldens. She gave us updates everyday. We'll be return customers for sure!”

“Suzannah did a spectacular job with our fuzzball while we were out of town for the week. Charlie (the fuzzball) has always been timid around new people and defensive around larger dogs. Suzannah gave him all the cuddles and tummy scratches Charlie needed to feel comfortable early on. By the second day, he was playing with the other dogs and begging her for attention just like he would with us. In fact, he seemed sad to be leaving at the end of his stay. Suzannah is 10/10 - I will be checking her availability first for our future sitting needs. Thanks Suzannah!!”

“Laura and her sweet family were fantastic with our pooch while we did non-dog activities in Steamboat! She was super considerate when she has an offer of another booking and asked great questions to ensure all of the dogs would get along together and that we were comfortable with the plan. Would highly suggest and use Laura and family again!”

About: What your pup gets on a stay stay with them: ~ At least 2 walks a day. (unless otherwise directed) ~ Affection galore (one of the most important parts, and they will still be happy to go home to you. :) ~ Feeding schedule and types of food stuck to (a change in food is one of the things that can make pups most nervous). ~ A peaceful time and place to sleep. ~ And, play! (if so desired) ~ and pictures and videos for you, depending on whether the pups keep doing what they are doing while I break out my phone. HaHa! My dear Poco has crossed the rainbow 🌈 bridge: April 29, 2024. She lived a very long a full life and I continue this work knowing she is still my “assistant”. I do sometimes have more than one sit at a time, so please specify if your pal(s) are amicable to making new furiends. My life is currently in transition. I am currently around quite often for your furpets' needs. I can also care for birds and small fuzzy creatures (hamsters, etc.) Making sure people's fur-children are safe is my number one priority. I take safety measures such as always checking leashes and harnesses are secure and tight enough so they won't slip out. I wrap the leash around my wrist in a way that will keep them secure even if they get startled. I check areas to make sure there are no tempting things to eat on walks or in any areas. I listen to pet "owners" regarding what they know about their "kids" and make sure to follow instructions.

We have a large yard that is great for active dogs. I enjoy being around dogs, and feel comfortable dealing with some simple behavior issues. I am very specific with my dog and willing to be as specific with yours if needed. I am active and can give walks daily. Please don't hesitate to let me know if any special needs and I'll do my best to be accommodating.

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life! I’ve had all types of pets ranging from dogs and cats to horses and reptiles and have 15+ years of experience in pet sitting. I have extensive experience with horses and farm animals as well, through riding, competing, and training horses for most of my life. My 1.5-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog, Ruger, comes with me to any stays that I book. He is very well behaved and friendly with all animals. When I am not at your house (at work, errands, etc.), he goes back to stay at my house. If you have ANY questions at all about me or my services, feel free to reach out and I would love to get to know you and your furry friend! I work Monday – Thursday at the hospital and have short mid-day lunch breaks, but if you live within 5 minutes of the hospital, I can often make mid-day potty breaks work with my schedule.
