For the last 15 years, I’ve owned very high energy hunting dogs, and love being able to take them on long walks, hiking in the mountains, or just play ball in the back yard. I’ll help with any kind of training/socialization a puppy or dog might need, you just have to let me know if there are behaviors you need help working on. I’m happy to drop in to check on dogs and cats of any size. If I can help out by taking a pup for a wash or anything extra like that, just ask. Willing to help transport, can come feed and medicate, as well as hang out and play for a while. I do have my own pups, and so I cannot do overnight stays at this time. Weekdays, I am only available after 6pm! I just moved back to the Grand Junction area and am working at settling into life back in the valley. I’d love to help you out with your animals! My pups are my family, they go every where with me (unless it’s to someone else’s house, of course). They get daily off leash runs in the north desert or at the family farm in Fruita. I’m not offering boarding at this time because of my own pups and lack of space.

My entire professional career has been in the animal welfare field. I've worked as a cruelty investigator in both major metropolitan as well as rural agricultural regions. “Like many others, I am an anxious dog mom and can be a bit nervous trusting new people to take care of my girl, Jagger. She’s a sensitive soul, and I’ve had a few bad experiences in the past. However, I’m so happy to say that Dan exceeded expectations with my pup! I took her to his home for a day of daycare, and she had the best time. Dan has a nice home and spacious backyard, which is great for my dog since she’s a big girl and enjoys sniffing, running around and basking in sun like a lizard. He has two dogs of his own, which was a huge bonus for her since she loves making new friends. She loved Dan from the moment they met and loved him just as much (maybe even more!) when I picked her up. Seeing how she acts around caretakers is a huge indicator for me about how comfortable she is and how well she’s being taken care of while I’m away. Dan gets 10/10 stars for this. Even when I came to pick her up, she was still running over the Dan for pets and lovins! She was happy to see me and ready to go home but not in a “please get me out of here” way that I’ve experienced before with other daycares and caretakers. What’s more, whenever I reached out to check on how things were going, Dan responded to me in a timely manner. It was also extremely comforting to know that Dan has such an extensive background in animal care/welfare. It reassured me that he knows what to do if something is wrong with my pup. Overall, I’m really happy with Dan and how he cared for my sweet girl! I’m so excited to have found a good fit for my dog!”

While I don't care for animals in my home, I will always treat your home as if it were my own. I am respectable and will always clean up after myself and the animals in my care - even the grossest of animal messes are not an obstacle for me. I am comfortable crating dogs, or making sure there are no potential dangers for a free roam dog to get into trouble with. Fresh water and food will always be provided during my drop-in visits (in alignment with feeding schedules, of course) and I will always make sure they potty on walks and during drop-ins, even if I have to stay a little extra to make sure 😊

I had a last minute hunting trip that my dogs could not be a part of, and Katelyn answered me quickly, arranged boarding and my 2 dogs quickly became part of her little dog pack! Katelyn’s property is perfect for watching dogs, off the road, large grass flats in front and around her home, with a large fence in the back, all surrounded by grasslands and farms! A pup parent’s paradise! Katelyn sent me pics throughout the stay and her dogs meshed super well with my dogs! We are already discussing our next trip and will definitely be booking Katelyn again!”
“Daniel was friendly, helpful, flexible, and communicated with us promptly & sent lots of pics. Our dog had a great stay & must have felt safe, happy, and loved because he ate well. (Our pup will go off his feed when feeling out of sorts). Plenty of room for fun play inside the house and in the fenced backyard. We will definitely use Daniel for our Rover next time we are in the area.”

About: I am a stay at home mom with the time to care for your pup as well as mine. Our kids and dog love to play with other dogs. We often take walks in the neighborhood and play fetch in the backyard. I'd be happy to have your dog join us! There is a good amount of lounging on the couch as well! My schedule is flexible and I can accommodate your pups needs. My kids are in middle and high school so we work around the school district schedule. I have a fenced yard in a great neighborhood. My pup will keep your pup entertained. I can crate your dog if needed during the day or at night.
