“Hugh and Mary were absolutely amazing with our girl, Olive! We boarded her with them from Friday through Monday while we were in Big Bear, and they made the entire experience so easy and stress-free. They sent us tons of photos and updates throughout the day of Olive playing with the other dogs, which we loved. You can tell they genuinely care about the pups they watch. They were also incredibly flexible and accommodating - they even told us we could pick Olive up anytime for walks or outings while we were around town, just with a quick 5-minute heads up. One thing that especially stood out was how seriously they take dog safety and temperament. During the initial introduction, they made sure Olive was not aggressive because they are very intentional about maintaining a safe, positive environment for all the dogs there. That immediately made us feel comfortable and at ease leaving her with them. Their home was basically Olive’s dream scenario - a 24/7 dog park with dogs playing, lounging on couches and beds, and getting tons of love and attention. She was truly living her best life. We would absolutely book with Hugh and Mary again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring, communicative, and trustworthy sitters!”

About: I can’t imagine living a life without being a dog mom. I’ve had dogs since my childhood and practically my entire adult life. I’ve had heartbreak from losing them because they were so loved. I’m retired and home mostly except for when I travel. I’m available to walk dogs and to play with them in fenced yard. I have a soft spot for all animals. My dog Holly is mostly an inside dog but always has access to fenced backyard through doggie door. The same would apply for any dogs I care for.

About: I’ve taken care of both large and small breed dogs and currently have a cat of my own. I also grew up caring for reptiles, specifically snakes and lizards. I’m a full time student, but I am available on the weekdays in the morning and in the evenings! Some days I am able to spend afternoons as well. As I was traveling to the area with an unknown schedule, Elizabeth was super flexible in scheduling, and extremely accommodating where she was willing to watch my pup at a different location than initially scheduled- was a HUGE blessing as my puppy is extremely sensitive to change and has a very high level of anxiety. About: After years of caring for all my friends pets when they go out of town I decided to give this a try! I love all animals and now that I work part time at home I am always available. I am a very active person and love the outdoors so I have no problem spending time outside with your pet. Living in Big Bear there are plenty of trails and dog parks available to visit within walking distance of our home. We also have a doggy door and a fenced in backyard. I’ve helped raise several litters and rescue any dog I see in need. I have to actively stay off Facebook as to not fall into fostering or taking in any animal in need. About: I have taken care of many animals since I was around 12 years old. For years, people within my community have come to me to take care of, or spend time with their sweet (and sometimes not so sweet) pets while they were away, and because I am so used to caring for children, I have a special place in my heart for pets of all kinds. I am very patient and nurturing and have many pets of my own back home in GA where I grew up, but because I am away from my own fur babies, I am hoping to have the opportunity to spend time with yours, just as if they were mine. :) My typical full-time job is within the film industry, which is shut down for the time being due to a writer’s strike that has forced thousands out of work for an unknown amount of time. With that being said, I’m spending a lot of time at home and have a completely open schedule for pet care! The writer’s strike likely will go on for months, so I am fully available now for full-time pet care and will still be available part time once the film industry is back up and running! I have always felt comfortable having pets on my furniture as well as in my bed, as I grew up with three “lap dogs” who crave constant attention and cuddles. I understand that not all pets prefer to be touched or held, but I like to give pet owners that option. :) I am a pretty active young adult, so I love dogs that like to go on hikes or walks around our nice, friendly neighborhood. (or yours!) I never let my own animals’ food or water bowls go empty, so I make sure that the pets are always well maintained and taken care of. About: After years of caring for all my friends pets when they go out of town I decided to give this a try! I love all animals and now that I work part time at home I am always available. I am a very active person and love the outdoors so I have no problem spending time outside with your pet. Living in Big Bear there are plenty of trails and dog parks available to visit within walking distance of our home. We also have a doggy door and a fenced in backyard. We do not have pets of our own but look forward to meeting and caring for yours! I know leaving pets can be stressful but rest assured your pet will be happy and cared for.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and had dogs of my own throughout the past 40 years. I treat all dogs and cats as if they are my own and am affectionate, kind, and playful. I work for myself as a handyman throughout the San Bernardino mountains and can set my own schedule. I’m currently training to be a dog trainer as well. It’s important animals feel safe and secure in their environment and the care taker is available to them on the animals timeline. I’m incredibly patient and kind and make a concerted effort to gain their trust as well. Ensuring they always have food and water, get ample bathroom breaks, and have access at all times to their creatures of comfort such as toys and bed. I’m very tall, and as a result often get on the ground or at the level of the animal to see them at their level. I walk quietly, I don’t slam doors, don’t smoke or consume alcohol that could be disruptive to their senses, and am highly aware of their need for affection, play time, or being left alone.

About: I have always been an animal lover so I figured that being a pet sitter/dog walker would be a great job for me! I’m currently going to college to be a Veterinarian. I have had tons of experience working with animals, including working at a petting zoo and on a small ranch which I thoroughly enjoyed! I currently have a dog, 2 hamsters, and a fish whom I love and spoil endlessly. I have had many many dogs in my lifetime. My first dog was a rescue from YAPS who, in her old age, became blind and deaf requiring a lot of extra care. My current rescue is a Boxer/Bull Mastiff mix that has severe anxiety and does not get along well with other dogs so I have learned how to handle dogs with an assortment of disabilities. I’m just looking to spend time with animals while earning money to put myself through college!
About: I’ve taken care of both large and small breed dogs and currently have a cat of my own. I also grew up caring for reptiles, specifically snakes and lizards. I’m a full time student, but I am available on the weekdays in the morning and in the evenings! Some days I am able to spend afternoons as well. I currently have a domestic short hair who is both outdoor and indoor, but she usually just follows me wherever I go. She gets fed twice a week and her litter is cleaned continuously throughout the day. I also have a snake who I feed weekly where she receives a cleaned habitat and water when in her feeding cage. When I am able I try to handle her often to keep her familiar with human touch.

We boarded her with them from Friday through Monday while we were in Big Bear, and they made the entire experience so easy and stress-free. They sent us tons of photos and updates throughout the day of Olive playing with the other dogs, which we loved. You can tell they genuinely care about the pups they watch. They were also incredibly flexible and accommodating - they even told us we could pick Olive up anytime for walks or outings while we were around town, just with a quick 5-minute heads up. One thing that especially stood out was how seriously they take dog safety and temperament. During the initial introduction, they made sure Olive was not aggressive because they are very intentional about maintaining a safe, positive environment for all the dogs there. That immediately made us feel comfortable and at ease leaving her with them. Their home was basically Olive’s dream scenario - a 24/7 dog park with dogs playing, lounging on couches and beds, and getting tons of love and attention. She was truly living her best life. We would absolutely book with Hugh and Mary again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring, communicative, and trustworthy sitters!”
About: I can’t imagine living a life without being a dog mom. I’ve had dogs since my childhood and practically my entire adult life. I’ve had heartbreak from losing them because they were so loved. I’m retired and home mostly except for when I travel. I’m available to walk dogs and to play with them in fenced yard. I have a soft spot for all animals. My dog Holly is mostly an inside dog but always has access to fenced backyard through doggie door. The same would apply for any dogs I care for.
