She was friendly and welcoming, her down to earth demeanor spoke volumes. My son and I liked her right from the start. About: Hi, my name is Bradley. I am retired from a career in law enforcement in the Great Lakes. Today, I call the city of Sacramento home. I have 21 years of experience raising cats (or is it the other way around?). In 2005 I drove two states away to rescue our first cat, Jed, a very large Bengal mix. He and his mate, a local cat we adopted were valued members of the family. Fast forward to a few years ago, my spouse and I adopted two kittens from a feral mother's litter. They were born outside, but adjusted to a quiet, stable home very quickly. They taught me that some cats need more attention or sometimes just different attention. We did a meet and greet, followed by a test overnight board and test daycare. It was incredible to see how well my dog settled in with her. You can tell she cares a lot about the dogs she watches. About: I started volunteering at the Antioch Animal Shelter in the 4th grade. Since then I have volunteered at numerous shelters and rescues, including the emergency animal shelter in Oroville after the Camp Fire. I'm Disaster Animal Rescue Team (D.A.R.T.) trained, animal CPR and first aid certified, and have years of TNR experience. I have had many exotics as pets, including a reef tank at one time. I have no issue feeding crickets and worms, but I can't feed snakes rodents. I'm a lifelong vegetarian, so that would traumatize me. Lol. I also love rodents, and currently have 2 rescue guinea pigs. Animal care and nutrition are a passion of mine. I'm also an expert teeth brusher! I brush my cats and dogs teeth every night and some of my pet sits as well. I'm very experienced giving medication, even pills to cats and my recently adopted cat Ricky is diabetic. Two of my regular cats I sit take meds, and one gets insulin injections, so I'm very comfortable with both and also know how to check blood glucose. Animals are allowed on the furniture in my home, even the bed. A couple of dogs I regularly sit sleep in the bed with me and my dogs. I treat other people's furbabies the way I would want my furbabies treated. I'm a helicopter pet parent so I totally understand how hard it is to trust someone with the ones you love. If I ever thought something was wrong with your pet I would notify you asap, and I have no issue taking an animal to the vet. I have a rescue dog who has occasional seizures and a rescue kitty with kidney disease that I give sub-q fluids to every day, so I am very comfortable with special needs animals. I'm pretty OCD when it comes to pet care. I actually have a pet thermometer and carry a microchip reader in my truck with an extra leash. You'd be surprised how many times I've used that chip reader! Being a helicopter pet parent I NEVER EVER leave an animal outside alone, not even in my fenced in yard. I don't take chances. I'm also obsessively clean, so your litter box will not be a hot mess when you return, and if your dog uses a potty pad no problem. I also have waterproof vinyl plank flooring so accidents and kitty puke is easy to clean up. :-D. When I board animals it is very much mi casa esu casa! I'm also more than happy to water plants when I do drop-ins as well, since I have them myself and am also a gardener. :-) I work from home 3 days a week and the other 2 days I come home for lunch since the office is only 2.5 miles from my house. I'm home most weekends as well. I follow the care instructions to the letter. If your pup requires a crate it must be brought with them, since mine are not crated. I am comfortable giving medication and supplements, measuring food, following a raw food diet, feeding exotics, etc. I'm also comfortable grooming for an extra fee, but will never ignore a mat in their fur or charge extra for daily grooming like toothbrushing.

About: I may not have dogs of my own but I sure do love being around them. Before moving I use to volunteer at an animal shelter and I loved it there just to see how dogs were able to have at least a couple of minutes of happiness from pups to seniors. I also foster kitties and have two of my own! I am currently attending nursing school, so can’t fit a full time job into my schedule. This is the best option because it’s something I love and I can still complete my studies! I would first build trust with the animal ensuring they are not frightened by me. About: As a teacher my summer schedule has allowed me to dog sit for families while they are on vacation. I was the main caregiver for my dog for 11 years, so I’m very used to daily walks, feeding, playtime, cuddles, and making sure pets feel safe and happy. Since then, I’ve also volunteered at animal shelters, fostered cats, cared for neighbors’ and friends’ dogs, and I even had 3 bunnies myself, so I’m comfortable with all kinds of personalities and energy levels. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pets, because they really are family. Whether your pet is playful, shy, energetic, or just wants company and affection, I’ll make sure they feel comfortable, loved, and cared for while you’re away. I’ll treat them like they’re my own❤️❤️ I currently work part time starting around 4 PM, and my husband gets off work around the same time (3:30pm) so there will almost always be someone home to care for your pet. I also have a lot of free time and love to stay active during the day, I love to walk, hike and run,so pet care fits very naturally into my routine. I’m excited to give your pet lots of attention and care while you are away! I always want pets to feel safe and comfortable in my home. We recently moved into our apartment, so there isn’t a lot of clutter or things pets can get into. Our cat is also very nosy, so we’ve already made sure our home is very pet-proof and safe. I pay close attention to each pet’s routine, personality, and any instructions from the owner. Whether that’s walks, feeding schedules, playtime, medication, or just giving them extra attention and comfort, I’ll make sure they feel cared for and at home while you’re away. I also love going on walks and staying active, so dogs will get plenty of exercise, attention, and outdoor time with me💓

“Achara was such a blessing for us. We were literally leaving in 1 day, down to crunch time, and freaking out because our girls have never been away from home. She did a meet and greet that afternoon, and was so easy going, very friendly, and even suggested if we wanted to make the transition for our babies easier, that we could bring them that same evening, as an option too. She was friendly and welcoming, her down to earth demeanor spoke volumes. My son and I liked her right from the start. Once we received our first update text and picture, my husband felt reassured, more and at ease in our decision. She kept in communication with us, put us at ease with the whole process (clear communication, the payment process because it was our first time with Rover as well) and gave us both pictures and updates of how they were doing. She respected our dogs' boundaries, as well as gave them options with sleeping arrangements. We knew our dogs were in the perfect hands while we were gone. We definitely will be making plans in the near future, either for over night or even just for the day. While also having a family and pet herself, Achara did an amazing job balancing our family with hers, and we definitely with be using her services again. Thank you!”
