“Kyley took amazing care of our sweet old hound Georgia, including taking her out hiking and swimming, her favorite things to do! Georgia was super happy in the photos Kyley shared and also when picked up. Kyley communicated well and was very flexible about my request for an early pickup. I would definitely work with Kyley again!”

“Could not have been a better experience! Our puppy dog Tito was treated as family during the course of his stay. Andrea was amazing at letting me know he was doing ok and I think Tito has found a new best friend with Henry! Thank you all so very much !!!”

“We left our beloved Poodle and Airedale plus another Poodle we were babysitting while we were at a destination wedding in Tahoe. This was a difficult decision for us as our dogs have never ever been left with someone else. We couldn't have been more happy. Beautiful home, Beautiful yard and loving care. My dogs, while confused, were instantly at ease. Kathy sent pictures and updates though out the dogs stay. It was easy on us and easy on the dogs. I would recommend Kathy in a second and if I have the chance to go to tahoe again, I would use her again in a second. The best picture was the two standard poodles sitting with her on her couch one on the left and one on the right. Thanks again Kathy.”

“We left our 1-year-old pup with Nayla and Zeina for 5 days and they took SUCH great care of him! He loves being outdoors and Nayla took the dogs on off-leash walks twice a day, as well as made sure our pup was comfortable and ‘at home’ in her home. It was our first time leaving him with someone and Nayla very kindly sent lots of photos and videos. It was clear our pup was LOVING his time playing with Nayla, Zeina, and their many other dog friends too. Nayla was also super helpful and flexible in coordinating drop off and pickup for times that would work with our flights. Overall it was such a great experience and we can’t recommend Nayla enough!!”

About: Compassionate and dependable animal caregiver with 5 years of hands on experience caring for four Goldendoodles and one Black Labrador. Skilled in providing daily care, including feeding, exercise, maintaining routines, and ensuring a safe, healthy environment. Experienced in managing multiple dogs at once, recognizing behavioral cues, and meeting each animal’s unique needs with patience and attention. Dedicated to promoting the well-being, comfort, and happiness of every pet while building trust with both animals and their owners. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I already enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors. I regularly go on runs, walks, hikes, paddle boarding trips, and swimming, and I would love to have a dog accompany me during those activities. Caring for pets would add structure and purpose to my day while also keeping me active and engaged. I also work full time as a medical assistant at Tahoe Forest Health System Monday through Thursday from 5:45 AM to 4:20 PM, so I really value making the most of my time outside of work. Having pet care responsibilities would be a great way for me to stay busy and active after my shifts or on my days off. Since I don’t have much family or many friends in the area, I genuinely enjoy the companionship of animals and would love to build a bond with your pets. Spending time with them would not only keep them happy and exercised, but also keep me motivated, fulfilled, and connected throughout the week. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent, comfortable, and stress-free as possible. I make sure they are fed on schedule, get plenty of exercise through walks and playtime, and receive lots of attention, companionship, and supervision while in my care. I also pay close attention to their behavior and needs to ensure they feel safe and well cared for in their own environment. When I lived in Cameron Park, I cared for five dogs of my own and kept them all very active through daily walks, outdoor time, and structured routines. Since moving, I no longer have pets of my own due to limited space and financial stability, but my experience with multiple dogs has given me strong hands-on knowledge of managing different personalities and energy levels at once. This experience has helped me stay confident and attentive when caring for other people’s pets, and I treat every animal like they are my own while they are in my care.
“Melissa is the best host for my dog Euler. He loved it there, and is bestie with her own dog. It feels like we’re giving him a treat by letting him stay with her”

I will always walk your dogs on a leash unless otherwise informed by owner to let run free in the woods and trails. I am very safe and responsible.
“Melanie took great care of my dogs and dropped them off before we arrived! She was lovely to communicate with and my dogs seemed happy and healthy when we got him. Her place on the hill with the fenced in area looked lovely for the dogs. Will definitely use Melanie again!”

“Aaron and his family are always so wonderful to my Maddy girl. She looks forward to spending time with them and every time she comes home I can tell how much they have worked with her and kept up her hard earned skills with obedience training.”

About: I'm Rachel, a writer with a flexible schedule and a love of all things canine. I live with my husband, and my chocolate Labrador retriever, Ellie, in our West Shore cabin near Homewood. I signed up for Rover because dog sitting helps me get my fix for having a doggy harem. I would love to shower your dog with attention and affection. I volunteer at the local humane society, so I'm very adept at adapting to your dog's needs. I particularly love active dogs, and I'm happy to take your pup on hikes and swims in the lake. I'm also happy to hang out and have a more relaxing day with older, less active pups. Ellie (13) is very well-socialized, and she gets along well with dogs of all sizes. I work from home with a very flexible schedule, so I’m always happy to go out for a walk or a hike. Ellie, my 13-year-old Lab, is always up for meeting a new dog friend. Daycare Rates & Information: Daycare is up to 8 hours of care. Anything longer than that time, please book a boarding stay. Drop-offs anytime after 8 a.m. Pickups before 8 p.m. Although there is a nice buffer of woods near my house, the yard is not fenced (hopefully soon). I’ll be sure to keep your pup on a leash just in case! There’s an enclosed deck for sunbathing and watching chipmunks.
About: As a pet lover and dog mom myself, your pets are my priority and I love getting to meet new dog and cat friends! I am comfortable with pets in all shapes and sizes, and have extensive experience with anxious animals, as my own dog is quite the shy guy. I live in Alpine Meadows and work at Palisades Tahoe, and am happy to give your pets the care they deserve on my off days and before/after work! I work at Palisades Tahoe as a ski instructor and live in the Donner Lake area. I typically work Friday-Sunday with evenings off. I can be flexible if needed! My dog is super friendly and he gets taken out every 3-5 hours if possible. I try to walk him every day, as well as letting him socialize with other pups!
About: I have experience working at a doggy day-care. I was responsible for watching and entertaining up to 25 dogs at a time of all ages and sizes! I work 10 hour shifts 4 days a week Tues-Fri. I am not home for pick ups/drop-offs between 7:15 AM-6:30 PM on those days. However my 3-day weekend gives me plenty of time to give your pup the love and attention they deserve! I hope to find some canine friends to hike with me on the weekends. I can cater to whatever your dog needs as I have plenty of experience working with different breeds, sizes, and ages. Just let me know and I will provide.
“Tasha was so lovely! This was my first time leaving Rocky due to a last minute family emergency and it was a great success :) we came by for a meet and greet prior to drop off and it felt great to be so confident Rocky would be in great hands. He had so much fun, lots of activities and play time. Tasha was communicative and sent lots of adorable pictures and videos. Rocky is not great with recall so Tasha’s husband made a zip line so Rocky could easily explore as much of their property as possible! They really went above and beyond in so many ways. Thank you so much will definitely reach out to Tasha again if Rocky needs a sitter in the area!”

“I’m very pleased to have found Ron and Lexi to take care of Jax. This was our second sitting with Ron and once again I have only wonderful praise for the care and love given. Jax is so at home there, I appreciate Ron and Lexi for making sure Jax is safe and loved.”

About: I grew up with dogs and cats, however, as a renter, I have not committed to one of my own. I have many years of experience loving and taking care of animals of all ages. I have experience with puppies and taking them to training classes. Each dog has it's own personality and quirks and I am happy to get to know them and their needs. I am happy to learn your expectations and meet them to provide your animal with the best care possible. I love going on hikes and would love to bring your pup along for the company! I am a student and work for a family near by. I am mostly studying at home or have time to let the dogs out as needed. I am happy to listen and abide by all of your pet's needs to keep them safe and loved. I believe that exercise is crucial so I will get them out as often as possible for adventures.

“Julia was great, able to watch our pup overnight after a last minute booking. She was great with our separation anxiety dog, took plenty of walks and potty breaks, and kept us updated through the stay. Will definitely book with Julia again when we have future needs!”
“I’ll be honest, Chelsea didn’t have a ton of reviews when I first reached out, so I was a little hesitant at first, especially since our previous dog sitter moved away and Blue is truly our baby. I’m so grateful I decided to take a chance because Chelsea was absolutely wonderful. From the beginning, she was kind, communicative, and very flexible, which immediately made me feel at ease. Throughout our week-long vacation, she sent regular updates and photos that meant so much to me and made it easy to relax knowing Blue was happy and well cared for. He settled in so naturally that it felt like he was staying with family, not just a sitter. Coming home to a happy, calm dog confirmed everything. It was clear she treated him with so much love and attention. Chelsea is someone who genuinely cares about animals and takes great pride in what she does. I felt incredibly safe leaving Blue in her care and would not hesitate to book with her again. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter they can trust and feel confident with.”

“Westin wasn’t available over my dates but his parents stepped in to care for Riggs and it was the perfect fit. Great communication and I could tell Riggs had a great and loving time. Will definitely reach out again.”

About: I love my dogs , and will love yours just the same! My home is small and cozy, with near access of hundreds of acres of woods with amazing hiking trails! A number of dog friendly beaches are close by for summer swimming as well. I prefer pups that are ok off leash for romps in the woods, as I take my dogs there for exercise daily. But leashes are certainly ok if that is preferred. My 2 pups, Oki and Cassidy, are very loved and spoiled, and the same will go for any pup in my home! About this sitter: Hello! I am Brynn, and have lived in the Tahoe area for just about 20 years now! I am a Certified Natural Chef and own Nourish, a personal/private chef service. I love my dogs like children, and cherish every second spent with them. I am active, kind hearted and down to earth, and value the smaller things in life. Why I love dog sitting From as long as I can remember as a child I have always loved dogs...well all animals really, but dogs are special to me. I grew up on a small farm and had lots of dogs, mostly Australian Shepherd, German Shepherds and Saint Bernards. I spent most of my free time with them as a child. My parents got me into 4H at a young age and I began training and showing my Aussies. I can't ever remember a time in my life where I didn't have a dog! I moved to California 13 years ago, and it was then that I was lucky enough to meet Kai, the love of my life, a black tri female rescue Aussie. She was the greatest soul I have ever met. At age 13 she passed away from Lymphoma. She was so loved and lived a blessed life. Now I am blessed with two amazing pups that I love to the moon and back...I will always be a dog lover! About my yard I do not have a fenced in yard. My home is located in the Tahoe Donner neighborhood, and backs up to hundreds of acres of forest. That is where we do all of our adventuring. I am self-employed, and my work days typically start at 3. That gives ample time for morning adventures! Our current daily routine typically goes as follows - 7:30am wake up, on-leash bathroom time, breakfast, post breakfast snooze, 10am adventure, noon treats and chill, 3pm bathroom break, 7:30pm dinner, after dinner chill, bathroom break, 9:30 bed time! Most pups that stay with us fit very well into that routine. I am very hands-on and attentive to my fuzzy friends. My dogs are never out of my sight. They have full range of the house (couch, bed, chairs, laps!).
“Brittney did a great job with our two dogs while we were away! Brittney was very attentive and responsive and provided great (and appreciated) updates on our dogs. Super happy!”

About: I've had a dog since I was born and truly believe they are better than people. I've had a cockapoo, a couple of king charles cavaliers, a cocker spaniel, a doberman, and my current terrier mix I rescued, Paisley. I take care of dogs as if they are my own, and there's nothing I love more than coming home to my own pup. I'll send you photos and update texts while you're gone so you know your pup is doing great! Your dog will enjoy outdoor adventures, hikes, and couch time with plenty of tummy scratches. In all honesty, I'm offering my services just because I love dogs so much, and being an owner myself, know all too well the nervousness that comes with leaving your "child" behind when you go out of town. I promise I will bring that sense of ease to you that I too look for when I have to leave my dog behind. My schedule is fairly flexible, so just let me know what your pup needs, and we can figure out if we are a good match! I will make sure your dog is as comfortable as if they were in their own home. I can give your dog his/her own bedroom, or they can snuggle with me and my pup.

“My pup had so much fun with Lidia. When I picked her up she was calm, happy and content. She had the time of her life playing at the lake and sunning herself on the deck. I'd be thrilled to have her watching my dog again in the future!”

“Our 2 yo aussie-doodle Coro loved his four days with Nayla, going on hikes in the snow and playing with the other doggies. The moment they met, Coro walked off with Nayla and forgot about us!!! The instant connection was amazing.”

About: Dogs have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I raised a Beagle (Billy) from puppyhood and proudly attended dog training classes with him (Billy and I both learned alot !) I've also had the joy of rescuing Summer, a gorgeous ex-show dog Golden Retriever, who was by my side for 13 years. After that was Bammer, an Alaskan Husky Lab mix. He was my adventure buddy, and always kept me on my toes! Besides my own dogs, I've had lots of experience caring for my friends' dogs while they are travelling, so have been able to adapt to all kinds of personalities, temperaments and levels of energy. The silver lining is that I currently have no pets of my own, which means your dog will get all the love, attention, belly rubs, walks, playtime, and couch cuddles they can handle. Whether your pup is an energetic explorer, a pro napper, or somewhere in between, they'll be treated like part of the familly. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone else, and my goal is simple: to make sure they're happy, safe, loved, and maybe just a little spoiled while you're away. 🐾 I work from home and have a flexible schedule, allowing for plenty of attention, potty breaks, and playtime throughout the day. I also love getting outside for neighborhood walks, so your pup will get lots of fresh air, exercise, and cuddles. I have a fully fenced yard for safe play and potty breaks, and dogs are welcome inside the home as part of the family. I'll follow your pet's routine and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed while in my care.
“Kathy and her husband were so great! Very friendly, great communication, and they took wonderful care of our pup for the day and gave me updates along the way of how much fun he was having. Wouldn't hesitate to have them watch our dog again!”

“Larissa was amazing! Great communication, lots of photos and updates, and just so sweet and patient with our pup. We will definitely consider using Larissa again for dog daycare!”

“Malea was an absolute treasure and helped our vacation to Tahoe run smoothly through her sweet and accommodating nature. Setting all of that aside, she was so nice to my dog, Roscoe, who seems to have had a blast in her care. Malea sent lots of updates throughout the day, which, if I needed reassuring at all (I didn’t because I instantly trusted her), certainly did the trick. And she was very accommodating when holiday ski traffic was beyond ridiculous getting back to her place for pickup and even nicer when our ski plans changed necessitating a cancellation of our last day of daycare services. I cannot recommend Malea enough, and we will definitely be contacting her again on our next trip to Tahoe.”

“Johanna took great care of our little girl, introducing her to snow. Her dog Olive is super sweet and our Arrow fell in love with her. Great communication, easy and agreeable. We would definitely leave Arrow with Johanna again next time!”

About: I've been dog sitting and walking for over 13 years and have experience with many breeds. I live an active life style and would love to take your dog(s) on walks, runs, or hikes. I'm happy to get outside in the winter as well. I highlight the importance of exercise in my care and know that a tired dog is a happy dog! I'm also happy to follow any routines and dog-favorite activities of your own. I'm in grad school online and have pretty flexible hours. Usually my dog sitting days include a short walk (15-20minutes) in the early morning and a longer one mid-day to afternoon (45minutes - 1.5 hours) with another shorter evening walk. Weather and heat are always taken into consideration when planning daily walks. I'm also happy to follow the schedule and walk length that your dog is accustomed to. I believe personalized (or dog-alized) care is important. I'd love to be in communication with you prior to service in order to talk about dog needs and routines. I'm also always available for communication while with your dog and will send daily photos!

“Our dog had an amazing time! Great hikes in the area and lots of attention and care. I also enjoyed the human conversation at pickup and drop offs! We hope to be repeat customers next time we’re here.”

“Scott was absolutely fantastic in handling our two dogs, who are admittedly a little difficult at introductions to other new dogs. Scott introduced his pup Bree in a calm manner and by the end of the stay they were all getting along. He sent pictures and updates during the stay, which was very reassuring. Would recommend Scott to take care of your pups any day.”

“We can’t wait to use Lindi again. My dogs aren’t necessarily easy with their leash aggression and lack of social skills and she handled them so well. Not just anyone can walk my dogs and I knew they were safe in her hands. I’ll never hesitate to use her again. Thank you, Lindi!”

About: Hello, I am a local who lives full time in Tahoe City. I've been a pet owner with both dogs and cats for the last 30+years. I am a mother of two grown children that are now off away at school. I work at the local elementary school with young children of special needs. I am a fun, caring and loving person who loves both animals and humans. I am free to take care of your pet most days, nights and some weekends. I work from home during the summer months so my schedule is always flexible. I currently live in a condo down the street from Lake Tahoe. There are numerous parks at the lake as well as many hiking trails to walk your dog at that are close by my place.

I have experience with puppies and taking them to training classes. Each dog has it's own personality and quirks and I am happy to get to know them and their needs. I am happy to learn your expectations and meet them to provide your animal with the best care possible. I love going on hikes and would love to bring your pup along for the company! I am happy to listen and abide by all of your pet's needs to keep them safe and loved. I believe that exercise is crucial so I will get them out as often as possible for adventures.
“Westin wasn’t available over my dates but his parents stepped in to care for Riggs and it was the perfect fit. Great communication and I could tell Riggs had a great and loving time. Will definitely reach out again.”

“We remain lucky to have Sam sit our Zassha whenever possible, she always makes sure Zassha gets all her favorite socialization and exercise time in with her own dog and cat, and was extremely flexible when we needed to adjust drop off and pick up times as part of our travel schedule. Thanks so much again Sam, we wouldn't be able to travel stress free if it weren't for you, and Zassha truly loves being with you all every time!”

“Susan, we were SO happy with the wonderful service you provided for us in February and March. You were flexible, loving and so caring of all the animals. We highly recommend your services! Thank you and we will see you again another time.”

“Alejandra was an absolute lifesaver! We had another sitter flake on us last minute and Alejandra was more than willing to help us out. Plus, she took such good care of our fur baby! She treated her just like she was her own. We would highly recommend her and will definitely use her again.”

“Johanna was so great with our dog. She made sure to do lots of fun things with her to make it a great weekend while we were away. She took her swimming, which is Rooney’s all time favorite thing, took lots of pictures, and I know Rooney was well loved while we were away!”

“This was our first foray into using Rover. Megan wonderfully handled our Great Dane, Dakota, who's skittish and energetic. One her first visit, Megan took Dakota out for a walk and on our return visit the next day Dakota eagerly pulled herself to Megan's front door. Communication with Megan was excellent and we would use her again and recommend her to our friends.”

“Shannon and David were a delight to work with; prompt with availability, clear and responsive in communication, and so full of care and attention when watching Willa. For this past trip, I (the primary owner) was out of service and needed to connect Shannon and David with my partner. They were willing to accommodate this secondary contact. They also went above and beyond in picking Willa up from her previous sitter. All of the communication leading up to the trip made me feel like Willa would be in conscientious care and that proved true. Willa was excited to see me when I picked her up, but she also seemed at home and at ease. I highly recommend Shannon and David!”
