“We have a dog that is our whole world and we were in need of help boarding our “fur baby” for a trip we couldn’t reschedule, after we removed her from an established boarding facility when our dog suffered a brutal attack by another dog. We were petrified to leave our dog, with anyone ever again, but knew we would have to. So research began, prayers went up and then we came across Rover. After more research on sitters with Rover we came across Elaine’s and Marty’s bio. So we reached out to Elaine and Marty who seemed like a great fit for our needs. Wow! Elaine and Marty respond instantly. They were willing to have us come to their home for a meet and greet with our sweet Kaylee and we talked with them for over an hour and saw where she would stay so we could make sure the environment was safe and appropriate for her. We were still nervous, as this couple were strangers to us, but decided to take the leap to trust that they would care for our girl like she was their own. Let’s just say our dog is spoiled by us, and lacked nothing with them. We especially love that they are clearly animal lovers and that they board one dog at a time. Because we were a late board, in regard to our trip, they were still willing to take her as long as we were ok with a 24 hour overlap with another client’s little, social dog. Ours is super social too and we all (both dog’s owners and, sitter) agreed to this arrangement. When we returned to Elaine’s and Marty’s home to drop off Kaylee, as soon as they opened their door Kaylee pranced right in like she owned the place, tail wagging, and very comfortable to see her new friends again. She was so well taken care of! Elaine and Marty gave us daily updates with pictures and videos which made us so happy and helped us relax while we were away. Elaine and Marty exceeded all of our expectations! They even gave us a framed photo with two pictures of Kaylee as a thank you for letting her stay with them. We couldn’t be more pleased, have already confirmed another booking and have asked about a third. This couple is so gracious, so kind and loving, so trustworthy and thoughtful we couldn’t recommend them more highly! “Our dog, Sam, is a large black Staffordshire mixed with either Malinois or some say, black lab. He's high energy but very well behaved indoors, and he needs a lot of exercise or gets very anxious after a day or two without exercise. He's got a nice temperament, but can be very possessive about his blanket, or bed, if another dog challenges him. Sienna and her partner both enjoyed Sam, and obviously handled him well during his eight days, and eight nights stay with them. We picked him up on our way home from the airport, and he looked great. He looked happy, relaxed, well fed and nourished. He was very happy to see us, and was very much at home with Sienna and her partner/boyfriend, who both obviously love dogs and show great confidence an competence at caring for them. We will definitely use Sienna again, and are grateful to have a safe place to leave our Sam, where we know he will be well taken care of and come home in great shape, both physically and emotionally.”

“How very fortunate we are (Dustin dog and me), and what a huge relief it has been to have connected with Nancy and her sweet Roxy. When our Weimaraner got ill and died suddenly I needed to switch from having our pet sitter staying at our house to the sitter's house so Dustin wouldn't be alone several hours each day. He also needs canine friends but is often reactive (growl, bark, snap if he is scared enough) and needs exposure, time and patience when meeting a new dog. He is not comfortable being handled (he is 14 pounds) by new people. Nancy and Roxy have been wonderful in keeping him in his comfort zone and gaining his trust. After several successful short daycare sessions we will start short boarding stays before our out of town trip. Needless to say I give Nancy the highest recommendation.”

About: Hi! I'm Gabby, a recent CSU Channel Islands graduate with a B. A. in Psychology. I'll be starting my Master's in Counseling Psychology (MFT emphasis) at California Lutheran University this fall. I'm currently looking for part-time dog walking, dog boarding, and drop-in visits that work well with my graduate school schedule. I've loved animals my whole life and began volunteering with Ventura County Animal Services as soon as I turned 18, where I volunteered for about three years. I also started pet sitting in 2019 and have experience with dog walking, drop-in visits, overnight house and pet sitting, and boarding dogs in my home. I have two female Labradoodles and two cats, so any dogs staying in my home must be friendly with both dogs and cats. I'm comfortable caring for pets overnight and always strive to make them feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you're away! Pet care is a regular part of my daily routine. I have a flexible schedule while I’m in graduate school, so I’m available for daytime and overnight boarding any day of the week, as well as dog walking and drop-in visits. Since I have pets of my own, caring for animals is already a big part of my everyday life, and I enjoy making sure every pet gets the attention, exercise, and love they need while their owners are away. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, my goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. My two Labradoodles are indoor dogs, but they have access to a large, securely fenced yard where I let them out throughout the day to run, play, and get plenty of exercise. I don’t have a doggie door because my two cats are indoor-only, so all outdoor time is supervised. My dogs are very friendly and love meeting new dog friends, and my cats are comfortable around dogs, so I only board pets that are friendly with both dogs and cats. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to maintain their normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication (if needed), and lots of love and attention. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always prioritize their safety, comfort, and well-being. At night, my pets have their own comfortable sleeping routines. My older Labradoodle sleeps with my parents, and my younger Labradoodle sleeps with me. Any dog boarding in my home is welcome to sleep in my room if that helps them feel more comfortable, or I’m happy to follow whatever routine works best for them and their owner, such as sleeping in a crate or their own designated sleeping space.

“Our dog, Sam, is a large black Staffordshire mixed with either Malinois or some say, black lab. He's high energy but very well behaved indoors, and he needs a lot of exercise or gets very anxious after a day or two without exercise. He's got a nice temperament, but can be very possessive about his blanket, or bed, if another dog challenges him. Sienna and her partner both enjoyed Sam, and obviously handled him well during his eight days, and eight nights stay with them. We picked him up on our way home from the airport, and he looked great. He looked happy, relaxed, well fed and nourished. He was very happy to see us, and was very much at home with Sienna and her partner/boyfriend, who both obviously love dogs and show great confidence an competence at caring for them. We will definitely use Sienna again, and are grateful to have a safe place to leave our Sam, where we know he will be well taken care of and come home in great shape, both physically and emotionally.”

Not only did she welcome both of our girls on short notice, she cared for them for four days during a week of extreme heat — something they wouldn’t have tolerated safely. She was wonderfully communicative from start to finish, sending updates and photos throughout their stay.
