I was very skeptical about leaving him with a complete stranger for that long but I had no other option. She doesn’t watch tons of dogs at a time and that’s exactly what we needed since Luke is still a puppy and gets frightened and overwhelmed when there’s too much going on. While on our vacation we communicated with Dakota to check in on Luke and she gave us updates and reassurance. My daughter was having a hard time being away from him and Dakota’s videos of Luke really comforted her and helped her get through our trip without Luke. “Daysha is a lifesaver! I came into town from over eight hours away under very stressful circumstances and had never been to the area before. When my pet sitter canceled at the last minute, I decided to bring my almost two-year-old Chinese Crested with me. My mom suggested trying Rover for doggy daycare. It was 9 PM and less than 48 hours before my arrival, but Daysha responded immediately. She was communicative, professional, and instantly put my mind at ease. She happily agreed to care for my pup on short notice, asked thoughtful questions about his routine, diet, and personality, and was incredibly flexible with an early morning drop-off and pickup time. On our way there, we discovered that the nonrefundable hotel I had booked didn’t allow pets. I had been misinformed and immediately panicked. We reached out to Daysha to ask if she could accommodate an overnight stay instead—even though we were still seven hours away and wouldn’t arrive until around 11 PM. She didn’t hesitate for a second and said, “no problem!” My dog sleeps with me every night, and this was our first time apart. I hadn’t planned for him to stay elsewhere, but Daysha was completely prepared and even had a crate available since I hadn’t brought one. She and her adorable chihuahua mix, Harlow, met us outside, and we introduced the dogs on leash first in a neutral space—such a thoughtful and knowledgeable approach. Then we moved to the backyard so they could get more comfortable off-leash. She even invited us inside briefly before I said goodbye, which I really appreciated. I was worried my pup might have a hard time adjusting, especially since he’s used to sleeping with me, but Daysha handled everything with ease. She didn’t force him into the crate (which meant a lot to me), and he ended up sleeping comfortably in the bed I brought. Throughout his stay, I received regular photo and video updates, and Daysha remained consistently communicative. Honestly, I think it was harder on me than it was on my dog! I’m so grateful for this experience—Daysha truly went above and beyond, and I would absolutely trust her again.”

About: I’ve always had animals around while growing up. I don’t think I can recall a time I haven’t had a pet. I even insisted on rescuing my dear Daizie May when I was 12 from the pound. I’ve helped raise several litters and rescue any dog I see in need. I have to actively stay off Facebook as to not fall into fostering or taking in any animal in need. My boyfriend calls me a Disney Princess with the way I communicate with my animals. It’s all about body language, respect, and patience. Trust is extremely important. I currently work a flexible schedule in my family owned business and am looking for side jobs that I also am passionate about. Any time that I’m needed I can usually make it work. I’m ready to follow and assist in whatever systems are set up in your family and household. Whatever your fur family is used to! Photos are VERY important and cherished.

About: I have taken care of many animals since I was around 12 years old. For years, people within my community have come to me to take care of, or spend time with their sweet (and sometimes not so sweet) pets while they were away, and because I am so used to caring for children, I have a special place in my heart for pets of all kinds. I am very patient and nurturing and have many pets of my own back home in GA where I grew up, but because I am away from my own fur babies, I am hoping to have the opportunity to spend time with yours, just as if they were mine. :) My typical full-time job is within the film industry, which is shut down for the time being due to a writer’s strike that has forced thousands out of work for an unknown amount of time. With that being said, I’m spending a lot of time at home and have a completely open schedule for pet care! The writer’s strike likely will go on for months, so I am fully available now for full-time pet care and will still be available part time once the film industry is back up and running! I have always felt comfortable having pets on my furniture as well as in my bed, as I grew up with three “lap dogs” who crave constant attention and cuddles. I understand that not all pets prefer to be touched or held, but I like to give pet owners that option. :) I am a pretty active young adult, so I love dogs that like to go on hikes or walks around our nice, friendly neighborhood. (or yours!) I never let my own animals’ food or water bowls go empty, so I make sure that the pets are always well maintained and taken care of. I am attentive, caring and patient and I’m eager to share my love with your pets!

“Dakota did an amazing job with our Luke! We had a trip that we had planned and we needed someone to watch Luke for about 9 days. I was very skeptical about leaving him with a complete stranger for that long but I had no other option. I came across a post from Dakota a couple weeks ago and I looked over her reviews and she seemed like the perfect candidate! She doesn’t watch tons of dogs at a time and that’s exactly what we needed since Luke is still a puppy and gets frightened and overwhelmed when there’s too much going on. While on our vacation we communicated with Dakota to check in on Luke and she gave us updates and reassurance. My daughter was having a hard time being away from him and Dakota’s videos of Luke really comforted her and helped her get through our trip without Luke. Our flight landed late at night and Dakota was very accommodating so that we could still pick up Luke. Overall he had a great stay and we will definitely continue to use Dakotas services. About: I can’t imagine living a life without being a dog mom. I’ve had dogs since my childhood and practically my entire adult life. I’ve had heartbreak from losing them because they were so loved. I’m retired and home mostly except for when I travel. I’m available to walk dogs and to play with them in fenced yard. I have a soft spot for all animals. My dog Holly is mostly an inside dog but always has access to fenced backyard through doggie door. The same would apply for any dogs I care for.
