About: Although I have never owned a dog myself, I have several years of experience caring for family dogs. My sister has had a dog since 2016, and my mom got a dog in 2023. I regularly help care for them when my family is out of town, including feeding them on schedule, providing fresh food and water, taking them on walks, and making sure they are safe and comfortable. While I do not have extensive pet-sitting experience, I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs and caring for them with patience, love, and responsibility. I have trained and competed in agility with my Australian shepherds, and I have worked with and trained dogs of all ages. I’ve worked with many large dog breeds, which include malamutes, German shepherds, pitbulls and even Akita’s. I’m currently work during the day so I am free most evenings Sunday through Thursday. About: I’ve been a pet owner for most of my life, and always loved animals. I just lost my dog Jessie, and love to spend more time with other dogs. I’m home a lot and love to take care of other dogs. Weekends I’m home, and have time to take dogs to the park for play or a long hike. I’m home also after 4:30 pm most days. I’m a school teacher and have summers off. About: I have had 6 dogs throughout my life, 2 of my own, and have helped care for them as well as many others. I have even volunteered at a local pet shelter near my house where I helped feed, bathe, and play with many animals. I love playing with dogs and going for walks as well as runs if they are able. I don't mind doing the dirty work such as bathing them or picking up poop and always am concerned with the well being of the animal. I love cuddling with all animals and giving them the love they need while their owners are away. I am usually pretty available durning the day and at nights, but if something comes up I will be sure to take care of the animal(s) in a timely manner. About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and just recently said goodbye to my 17 year old pit bull rescue. I’ve been the go to sitter in my neighborhood for the past 15 years and I’m lucky to have been successful in our local fur community by word of mouth. About: Animals have always been an immovable part of my life. I grew up on a small goat farm in northern california surrounded by llamas, ducks, geese, 3 beautiful cats, 6 dogs, and of course, goats. Through life on a farm, I have developed an immense love of all creatures, furred, feathered, and scaled. I have also had lots of experience caring for sick and injured animals. I have volunteered with both wild animals rescues, and the humane society. About: I’ve cared for dogs in a wide range of situations, including senior dogs, special-needs pups, and dogs recovering from injuries. Most dogs love nature, and it's exciting to see them perk up on walks at the sound of chirping birds, rustling brush, or a skittering lizard. There are great dog-friendly nature paths in Novato and San Rafael that give the pups both sniffing and social opportunities, so they come home tired and content. What I’m especially good at is communication. I pay close attention to a dog’s eyes, ears, posture, and energy, because they tell you so much before they ever make a sound. I use a gentle “dog voice” (yes, the sweet baby-talk voice) and clear, steady cues, because many dogs respond quickly to warmth, tone, and consistency. Even anxious or shy dogs usually soften when they realize they’re being understood. I’ve also cared for large dogs, and my Labrador retriever loves having big buddies to play with. No matter the size, age, or temperament, I’m respectful of each dog’s individual needs, and I make sure they feel safe, seen, and truly cared for with plenty of affection, attention, patience, and exercise. I currently work from home, and I have a (mostly) flexible schedule. I like to get out with my dog two times a day for 2+ mile walks on local trails and parks.
