We were actually going to Texas for the weekend, and ended up getting stranded there as a result of the epic winter storm. “If there was a way to do more than five stars, I would. First time we have ever used the service. Oliver always stayed in a boarding facility when we traveled. But he is nearly 16 years old, and we did not want the chaos of tons of dogs at a boarding place. Now I can't believe we ever used those instead of this service. Jasmine was great! She let us do a little drop-in a few days prior to our leaving, so I could see her place and Oliver could meet her. She took notes on his needs, with him being older. She sent pictures every day that we were gone, with a an update on their activities and how he was getting along. It really put our mind at ease. When we picked him up he had made friends with another dog and had clearly been very well taken care of. Again, with an older dog, you hope the care taker knows how to handle it. Jasmine did a great job....way better than what would have been the case at a boarding place. The best recommendation is that we would definitely use her again.”

About: While I grew up in a dog family, I've embraced my fate as a cat lady in adulthood! After rescuing my (giant) Norwegian Forest Cat over 5 years ago, I've fallen in love with felines and cared for them via Rover bookings as well as directly for friends and colleagues. After a lot of patience and creating a safe environment for the two of them, my cat and dog are now besties! At the same time, they’re incredibly different animals, with their own way of looking at the world, both of which I respect :). For 10 years, I have walked and cared for many family's, friends’ and colleagues' dogs and cats of all ages, and recently opened my network to my neighborhood. **Currently, I am open for cat/dog drop-ins. I’ve used Rover and other services for my pets, and I understand how it feels to entrust another person with your fur-kiddo. I am patient and will give you whatever you need to feel comfortable with me as a caregiver — from answering questions, to a meet-and-greet (in person or on zoom), to picture updates all along the way. Every cat is different, and I want to know what makes your cat unique so I can provide him/her with the best care. She offered to come meet Wally prior to booking, we talked through his care, etc. When the day came, she took him and he made himself at home quickly. While Wally was with Ayman, she had to evacute due to the fires and she assured me that Wally was safe and she would take him with her to a safe location. She made a potentially extremely stressuful experience completely stress free for me. “Another great visit with Alex. We were away for about a week and came back to an apartment that looked like we never left. I genuinely don’t know how he does it. The cats were happy and relaxed, honestly like they didn’t miss us at all, which says everything. He stayed on top of all the feeding instructions we left, which we really appreciated, and made sure everything was handled exactly as requested. He also kept us posted on little things around the apartment, including the Roomba, making sure it was emptied, reset, and charging so it could keep running while we were gone. That level of attention makes a big difference. We always feel at ease leaving our home and pets with Alex. Really grateful for him and all the care he puts into it.”

About: I raised my 2 mini schnauzers from puppyhood through their twilight years and loved every second of it. We made many other dog friends along the way, including the occasional sleepover. I work remotely from home, so it’s easy for me to adapt to whatever schedule your dog is used to! I travel for 2-3 weeks in the year around (but typically not during) holidays. My apartment complex is gated with great walking areas for the community’s many pets. A public park is just next door with hiking trails for higher energy pups. I also have extra beds, crates, leashes, bowls, and toys if you forget yours or prefer not to haul them around.

About: I've shared my home with two to four dogs since coming to LA 15 years ago. Because I work from home, your pup gets a calm, dog-savvy human nearby all day — frequent yard breaks, play, and belly rubs instead of hours alone. I'm comfortable with puppies, seniors, medications, and high-energy dogs, and I keep my numbers small so every dog gets real one-on-one attention. I work from home on a flexible schedule, so your dog has company and supervision for most of the day — regular walks, play, and potty breaks, not long stretches alone. I offer boarding and daycare and take just one family's dog or two at a time, and I'm glad to keep your dog's normal routine for meals, naps, and bedtime. I always mark as unavailable any days I have travel or major time commitments that will keep me away from home for more than an hour or two, so they will have constant care while they're here. Your dog will have free range of my 3 bedroom home, detached studio, and very large, securely fenced backyard full of fruit trees. I don't have pets of my own right now, so your pup gets the whole space and my full attention. I'm happy to crate or set up a quiet separate area if that's what your dog is used to, and I keep things calm and low-stress. I have a doggy door for dogs who prefer to let themselves in/out at their leisure. I converted our detached 2 car garage into a recording studio, where I work, so we have the quietest place in town in the event we have to make it through fireworks or if your pet prefers quiet or isolation. Both the house and studio have their own separate HVAC systems, so they'll definitely stay comfortable. I have always slept with my own dogs, so happy to co-sleep with yours if that's what they're used to, but also glad to maintain whatever rules you generally set for them in regard to being on beds/furniture.
