About: I have taken care of dogs for as long as I remember. I have had many dogs of my own over the years who I have cared for dearly. I have taken care of puppies all the way to senior dogs. I’ll make sure to keep an eye on your fur baby and send you updates throughout the stay, so you won’t have to worry about anything. I’m home all day on Friday’s to Sunday’s. I’m currently a college student, on Mondays and Wednesdays I’m away from home for 3 hours. Tuesdays and Thursdays unfortunately I’m away for 5 hours, which means I’m not able to take any pets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I have a fenced yard that your pet is able to use to run around in or play. I as well have two dogs of my own who are super friendly and would love to play with your pets. If needed I could crate my own pets to guarantee the safety of your pet so it can enjoy its free roaming space without worrying.

“Clyde was boarded for a week with Kathleen on New Years while we were out of town! She did an amazing job keeping us informed on how he was doing and sent lots of pictures throughout the trip! She was very vigilant in asking us how we have trained Clyde and what we do to curve some of his bad habits; she used the same training techniques that we use so it wouldn’t confuse Clyde. Kathleen also has her own pup (Honey) who played with Clyde the whole week. He came home super tired and beat (which is rare for him). The following days after his visit were also a joy because he still listened and followed most of our commands/routines. Usually when we leave him at my moms, he comes home and acts differently (bad) because she lets him get away with so much. Overall, Kathleen did a great job with Clyde and we will definitely be having him boarded with her and Honey again!”

I have extensive knowledge of dog behavior and welfare, and am able to confidently care for many different types of personalities. I will start veterinary school in the fall, and plan to fit visits in around my class schedule. I commute from Esparto to Davis/Woodland daily and am easily able to make stops anywhere near this commute. I believe in keeping pets comfortable by maintaining their normal routine and following given instructions as closely as possible. About: I’ve been taking care of friends and family’s pets for 10 years now! I’m great for anyone with an eccentric animal. They need special attention or have weird habits I’m your girl! About: I have been a vet assistant for a little under a year now but have handled numerous animals in my time! I would feed, clean, walk, and bathe as well as administer medications, flea/tick, dewormer, vaccines, etc! I’ve also grown up with cats my whole life and help walk my friends and family’s dogs from time to time! About: I've taken care of dogs for the last 4 years, with neighbors and friends relying on me to walk, feed and bathe their pets. About: My name is Destiny and I grew up caring for large and small dogs and cats. I have hands-on experience raising puppies and kittens from birth through adulthood. As an adult, I continue to care for both cats and dogs, including adopted shelter cats and my own Labrador Retriever and Standard Poodle. Both of my dogs are neutered, gentle and affectionate. My Standard Poodle loves to run and play and can be wonderfully bouncy, but he's also surprisingly nurturing and likes to make sure everyone is okay. My Labrador is basically Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh—a lovely potato who is particularly drawn to wee, scrappy dogs. I actively study canine behavior and learning. I train and participate in dog sports including obedience, scent work/nose work, agility, Barn Hunt and NASDA. I'm comfortable observing canine body language, following established training and management routines, providing enrichment, and adapting my approach to the individual dog. Most importantly, I genuinely enjoy getting to know animals as individuals. I don't expect every dog or cat to immediately love me, and I don't force interaction. I believe comprehensive care starts with paying attention to what makes an animal feel safe, comfortable and understood. I work from home with a flexible schedule and control over my own hours, which gives me plenty of time to incorporate walks, play, enrichment, meals, potty breaks and companionship throughout the day. Our household is unusually quiet and relaxed. There are no children in the home, and my neighborhood is a peaceful residential area that's well suited to walks and downtime. Pets staying with me have opportunities for activity and engagement, but also plenty of time and space to settle, nap and simply relax. Because I'm home much of the day, pet care fits naturally into my routine rather than having to be squeezed in around a long commute or rigid work schedule. I believe pet care starts with understanding the *individual* animal. I take time to learn each pet's normal routine, temperament, preferences, training cues, feeding needs and anything that may make them uncomfortable or stressed. My approach is calm, patient and attentive. I don't force interactions, and I pay close attention to body language and changes in behavior. I follow owners' established routines and management instructions carefully because consistency can make being away from home much easier for a pet. My home is clean, quiet, child-free and low-stress, in a peaceful residential neighborhood. I want visiting pets to have a comfortable place where they can play and engage when they want to, but can also settle and rest without constant activity, noise or disruption. When caring for pets in their own homes, I bring the same approach: respect the animal's familiar environment, follow the household's routines carefully, communicate reliably with the owner, and leave things exactly as I found them.
About: I have always had a passion for animals and it seems they’ve always been drawn to me! Growing up my mom owned a small pet sitting business. We took care of dogs, cats, birds, even an entire farm. Over the years of helping my mom and pet sitting on my own, I’ve gained plenty of knowledge and patience for all furry friends! “Clyde was boarded for a week with Kathleen on New Years while we were out of town! She did an amazing job keeping us informed on how he was doing and sent lots of pictures throughout the trip! She was very vigilant in asking us how we have trained Clyde and what we do to curve some of his bad habits; she used the same training techniques that we use so it wouldn’t confuse Clyde. Kathleen also has her own pup (Honey) who played with Clyde the whole week. He came home super tired and beat (which is rare for him). The following days after his visit were also a joy because he still listened and followed most of our commands/routines. Usually when we leave him at my moms, he comes home and acts differently (bad) because she lets him get away with so much. Overall, Kathleen did a great job with Clyde and we will definitely be having him boarded with her and Honey again!”

About: I am currently a student at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine to become a vet! I have had pets at home since elementary school including dogs, cats, and chickens. At home I play an integral role caring for each of my pets. My love for animals extends outside of the house as I look to work with animals professionally as a veterinarian.
