“Shanna is great. She has been patient and collaborative in planning for my Roxie's care. We had a meet and greet, then a short daycare stay, then a full day of daycare. She is well versed in dog behavior. My dog, coincidentally a "pitbull type" is often categorized and judged as "vicious or aggressive" even before people meet her. I've had dog sitters on Rover decline to provide services simply because of her breed or her appearance. Shanna understands that Roxie is a dog: a dog with her own level of prey drive (so Roxie is not allowed in her daughter's room cause of the hamster she has); a dog with some anxiety who barked at her husband when he came into the house. They didn't freak out. Shanna understood Roxie's behavior and worked through it, allowing Roxie to get to know her husband, settle and move on. I truly appreciate her family's openness and acceptance. We have two more full days of daycare booked and if all continues well, we will book boarding services. Roxie is people and dog friendly, but the discrimination we have experienced on Rover, leads me to take things in a new daycare/boarding situation slowly. About: I was gifted my first dog on Christmas when I was 4 years old and learned to care and love him all his life. I’ll always remember my dog Chocolate as the best Christmas ever that also was the best gift I’ve ever received. He taught me to appreciate and love animals and to care for them accordingly. I cared for a family members pregnant dog and helped her give birth to her 6 puppies and care for them for the diary 3 weeks of there lives. It was truly an experience that I learned a lot from and made me a better care giver. Pet care and having routines are very important as a caregiver. Currently I have a lot of availability as a current college grad. I’m looking into pet care because it gives me the opportunity to do what I love, care for pets. I make sure they are well cared for by feeding, playing with them as well as always having water for them to drink and go on walks if requested.
About: I love and have cared for dogs since I was 15, I have patience for any breed and I have open availability. My most recent dog I cared for is a pug. He was a puppy and I trained him how to go on the pee pads and when he got a little older we went for walks. I always go for walks, always make sure the puppy/dog gets enough attention, food and water. About: I’ve volunteered at the shelters for several years. I participated in their cruising canines program that had me take a shelter pup out weekly for a few hours to burn energy. This includes going for walks, swimming, going to get a puppacino or just cruising in the car and wind surfing! I’ve taken all dog sizes and am physically fit enough to take on larger dogs. I’ve had animals of my own since I was 7 years old. This included ducks, pigs, dogs, cats and geese! I currently have 3 dogs of my own. I love any chance to meet new animals! I live a very active lifestyle and fitness is a huge part of my daily routine. I have 4 dogs of my own and understand how a pet is more than just a pet, they are a family member! I work from home as a seamstress, which allows for my schedule to be very flexible. Last minute bookings to planned bookings work for me! All of my dogs are inside dogs. They are treated with the same care as humans, if not more. Comfort is top priority for my animals and I understand every pet will require something different. No 2 animals are the same and volunteering at the shelter has helped me learn that quickly! I feel I am very good at a reading the situation and would never do anything to make an animal feel uncomfortable.

I look forward to caring for your sweet animals!:) I currently work part time and am home quite a bit so I have ample time to spend with your dog. I also have a massive backyard with grass area, plants, and a pool if they like swimming. My priority is to make sure that your pet feels comfortable around me regardless of the environment. I believe that once the pet feels safe with its caretaker, then the environment doesn’t play a huge role.
