About: Hello there! I hope to make your acquaintance. My greatest passion for life stems from a deep-rooted love and appreciation of nature. Not only do animals encourage me to spend more time outdoors, they also lift my spirits. I have yet to meet one whose company or quirks did not bring me enjoyment; from my best friend’s sixty-four slithering snakes, to the most docile (and most dastardly) of llamas. As a child, my favourite playmates were fickle felines, slobber-faced dogs, flopsy rabbits, furry scurriers, flittering birds, flashy fish, and even the occasional amphibian, reptilian, or arthropod to cross my path. About: As long as I can remember my family has always had multiple pets in the house. Whether it was birds, reptiles, dogs of all sizes, or cats. I had the responsibility of taking the dogs outside to go to the bathroom, feeding them breakfast and dinner, and bathing them. I used to dog sit my neighbors dog when she went on vacation for 1/2 weeks at a time some things I was trusted doing, was letting the dog out, feeding the dog, playtime with the dog, and locking up the house securely. As of now I take care of my own dog who is completely blind, and needs extra help with leading him places, feeding time, and medication. So I am definitely up to a challenge. I’m currently a vet technician at a animal hospital, so I know a few things. I can trim nails, express anal glands, and bath your pets if requested. Bathing would need to be in your own tub or outside in your yard. I’m currently working part time on the weekends only so I’m available during the week! About: Hello! I am Mason, a USAF veteran on the GI Bill working toward his pilot's license. I am on Rover to provide myself with a high-quality, fulfilling experience working with dogs and cats (both of which, I love). I have previously volunteered at both the Spokane, WA animal shelter and Pima Animal Care Center walking dogs and have taken care of my own little dog, Thor for her entire life. 12 years going strong! I have taken care of dogs ranging from Mini Yorkies to Great Danes, cats, snakes, and various rodents for friends and colleagues over the years. I have never failed to provide quality care whether I was walking, house-sitting, brushing animal teeth, or hurling a favorite ball. That is because I love every dog/cat I see. I am just happy when I take care of animals. More recently I volunteered at the Mayreau Animal Welfare Center in the Grenadine Islands. I would routinely walk 2 or 3 large, high-energy dogs while simultaneously handling the community dogs that would inevitably start to follow me. These walks involved walking through deep mud and up moderately sized mountains. This experience will prove invaluable in helping me take care of your pets! “We booked a week stay with Alma over the Memorial Holiday to travel back to NYC for my daughter's graduation. We have two large 70+# Labs that are very friendly and playful and sometimes don't realize they are not lap dogs. I moved back to the area and so did not have a regular dog caretaker; Alma took the time so we could have a pre-visit to see where the dogs would be and get to know Alma and Alma to get to know the dogs. Everything worked out great, we received almost daily updates with pictures of the dogs having fun while in NYC. Great on communications and updates with follow through, definite recommendation and when the time comes for us to travel sans dogs, we will be looking her up again.”
