I am really inspired by Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary and one day I hope to open my own animal sanctuary, but Rover will have to do for now. I've always had at least one dog in my house growing up. Right now I have two dogs as well as cats in my home. I also have a fenced yard to offer supervised play time and potty breaks. I'd be more than happy to drop in and make sure your lil' kitty-kat is well fed, played with, and has a clean litter box OR even host them in my cat room (AKA a quiet bedroom reserved just for cats that my pups do not have access to). The downside is I do not have a fenced in back yard, but the upside is I’m with them 16-24 hours of the day until their owners arrive back home! About: I’ve had dogs since the literal day I was born. I have 4 dogs at home (labradors and labradoodles), and one dog currently with me! Spending time with dogs is one of my favorite things. I currently have an energetic young german shepherd so I understand the importance of dogs getting lots of exercise so that they can relax throughout the day. The main breeds I have experience with are Labs/Retrievers, German Shepherds, Beagles, Mixed Breed herding dogs, and Horses! I understand when dogs want to play and when they need their own space to relax. I currently have a german shepherd that I exercise twice a day either by walking, hiking, fetching or chasing hose water. Typically, I do one of these activities in the morning and one in the evening. My dog is free fed throughout the day, but I am familiar with dogs that prefer the routine of scheduled feeding or don't have self control, so I am comfortable following the routine that the dog is used to. I have a great walkable neighborhood, but I am very familiar with great places to walk and hike with dogs throughout the city. I am a grad student with lots of flexibility so my schedule is different from week to week, during the summer I will have lots of time each day to spend with your pup, but during the year I will provide excersize but less one-on-one time. I have a fenced in yard and a 1900 square foot home with hard surfaced floors. I don't allow my dogs on furniture, but if your dog is used to it, that is not currently a concern. My fences are sturdy and chain link, and about four feet tall. I prefer dogs that are crate trained overnight, and am happy to provide my own crates for them to sleep in. If they are not, I would happy to set up a play pen environment for them to be in!

I try not to overwhelm any animal, and allow them to grow accustomed to my presence before I take part in whatever needs to be done. Meeting with said pets for the first time is a bit tricky, but I make it a habit for the first meeting to be with owners before services are rendered so both the client and myself are sure the animal(s) will be ok.
About: I’ve been trusted to feed, walk, play with, and love on pets all my life! I grew up in a house with medium-large dogs (labs, Australian Sheppards, border collies), and got my own small dog 10 years ago. I also adopted multiple cats 2 years ago, and I can handle some reptiles, as I had a pet turtle for over 10 years. I’m an animal lover that will treat your fur baby as if it’s my own! I’m currently working on research this summer as I finish my doctoral degree, so I have a very flexible schedule for walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting stays! I can easily crate animals as needed, monitor their furniture use, make sure I abide by their potty schedule, refresh their water bowls regularly, etc.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all different sizes and personalities throughout my life, especially the last 6 years. Back home I have three dogs, including 2 Labrador retrievers and a chihuahua mix rescue. I used to dog sit for my neighbors every few months, typically for a week at a time. Now that I am at college at UA, I miss constantly being around dogs and I hope to fill that missing piece through Rover! I am great about exercising, feeding on time, and potty breaks. About: Since I was little, I was around animals all the time. My mom‘s cat lady gene was very strong, because I have six very special cats myself: Ruby (an orange tabby with three legs), Freya (a long-haired dilute torbie), Luna (a silly calico), Phoebe (a tortie with white socks), Callisto (a gray teddybear who came to us as a yard stray) and Poe (void cat who was born in our house). Although I do not want the commitment of adding a dog to the mix full-time, I also love taking care and playing with all puppers! I work full-time during the week, but I have a flexible work times. I can schedule walks and check-ups early in the mornings and starting after 5 pm in the afternoon. I am available most weekends, both Saturday and Sunday. I will familiarize myself with your space and where your pets are allowed. It is important to me to understand if your pet will try to test limits and rules with me that might apply in your home. Both cats and dogs react differently to strangers, so it is important for me to not force them to interact if they want their space.

About: I’ve lived with dogs my whole life. I have had 3 golden doodles throughout my life, and my brother currently has a puppy that I help care for. I currently have two dogs at home and they are my best friends! I have also dog sat a good bit for dogs of all sizes. I am missing my dogs at college and would love to care for your dogs! I am a student at the University of Alabama, with classes from 11-3 Monday-Thursday. I am able to care for your pets most of the time outside of that window, including in the morning.
