My husband and I had just moved from NC (our plane landed that day!) and our previous boarding plans for our dog fell through as we were traveling. Like everyone, our dog is family and we only want the very best for her. I was already an anxious mess from having to fly with our dog crated in the cargo hold. (We considered driving from NC to AK just for Sophie's benefit, but soon realized that was unrealistic.) After 10+ hours of travel, Giuliana was the perfect choice for us and Sophie. She was so flexible, patient, and understanding (especially considering we contacted her just a few hours earlier during our layover in Seattle). For the 2 days that Sophie stayed at her house she was in constant contact with me and sending plenty of pictures and videos. Knowing that Sophie was with a loving, attentive family -- going for hikes, getting tons of belly rubs and cuddles -- made our transition from NC to AK a whole lot easier than expected. “We adopted a 7-month-old kitten this past summer and none of our usual cat sitters were available for an out of town trip we had scheduled for October 2022. Fortunately, we stumbled upon the Rover service and decided to give it a try. Katie was our first choice and things turned out very well. We booked a 4 night, 5 day stay. Inital communication was prompt and Katie came over to meet the little guy and scope out the house. We were greatly relieved to receive an initial report and picture within a day of our leaving, since we had no idea how our guy would react. Katie immediately put our nervousness to rest, and provided us with several additional updates and pictures during our trip. It was such a relief to know we left our guy in good hands. He was definitely glad to have us back, but showed no sign of stress. In addition to keeping our kitty safe and sound, the house was well cared for. About: Hello! My name is Jenn. I have been pet sitting for over 10 years and have been fostering dogs locally since 2023. My family and I have pet-sat and fostered a wide range of pets; everything from kittens to cats, 8 week old puppies to senior dogs, dogs with little to no experience indoors to seasoned house pets. We currently have two cats, a dog, and chickens. I work from home, so I am able to spend most of the day with your furbaby. You can trust me to follow your rules and instructions carefully and fully. I also make it a priority to ensure pets get the exercise and stimulation they need. When taking care of other people’s animals, I send lots of photos and videos. I want you to feel comfortable and confident leaving your pets in my care. Please reach out if you have any questions! I work part time from home, meaning I am available to treat your pets like I treat my own. My pets are spoiled, but with foundational rules. For dogs - have a fenced-in yard for safe pottying. I have a friendly adult female dog - spayed, and two well-behaved cats. I have local trails available where I exercise my own dog. I typically have the dogs I sit sleep in a crate overnight, so I would love to know your dog's experience with crating. Also, since I have cats and chickens, I cannot accommodate a dog with a heavy prey-drive. For cats, I have an unused bedroom set up as a private suite, that my own pets do not have access to. This room has a window and plenty of cat-napping options. I live on a quiet street. I am available to give your cat as much attention as they desire.
