“Reassured to have Lizzy staying and looking after my very special old dog Jed. This is the second time we have had Lizzy stay and look after our dogs, previously she had all 4 to care for, and has done a great job both times. Very pleased to have found her!”
“Steven is great, he looked after my little man Frosty and the house brilliantly. I would not hesitate to recommend him and will definitely use him again for future trips. Thanks Steven - you are a star!”

“Ellena was great! She took great care of my 3 girls for a few nights at my home. They always get so excited when they see Ellena and she left my home in great condition. Would definitely recommend and would book again. Thanks again for everything xx”

“We’re so glad we found Cassie! We felt so at ease knowing our cat was being looked after by her. She was great at giving us updates and we came home from our holiday to a very happy and loved little cat.”
“Very much appreciated the patience and care Jon and his wife took whilst looking after Polly. She appreciated the relaxing walks in the orchard near the house and they were very understanding when managing her reactivity. I would absolutely book them again.”

“Ellie was really lovely, and accommodating - doing a last minute sit for me when I was going to stay with a friend. I never met her as she had to complete her work day before coming, but she found her way in smoothly and everything went blissfully. She sent me regular updates every couple of hours - unusually frequent, and I really enjoyed seeing my two having a good time - a little tug at the heart strings and a feeling of love every time I got a new photo. I’ve asked my usual sitters to send more frequent updates now! I’d thoroughly recommend Ellie and would have her back in a heartbeat! Thank you Ellie, from Sandra, Yola and Flo ☺️🐾🐾”

“Julie house sat for us while we were gone for 4 days. She was able to manage both of our high energy dogs on daily walks and made an effort to stick to their normal routine. I would recommend her for anybody looking for pet care and will definitely use her again when we go out of town!”

“Maria was a delight from start to finish. From our initial video call she instilled us with confidence and she never let this slip. She kept us up to date at just the right intervals with reassuring messages and photos and was ultra respectful of our house (including an overnight stay). We came back the following day to find a very happy hound and that is exactly what we hoped for. Will have no hesitation in booking Maria again, if she’s available - she’s great!”

“Jake came to stay overnight for us when we were away. He turned up on time and I felt really confident that the house and Zeus world be in excellent hands while we are away. He kept in regular contact with us and when we returned it was clear that he had taken really good care of Zeus and the house. Would recommend and look forward to Jake coming back to help us again.”

“Izzy has been great with our new puppy who absolutely loves her and gets so excited when she walks through the door. She has remembered and taken into account every little detail we have told her about our puppy and kept that in mind whilst looking after him. I know he has such a great time every time she is here.”

About: Dogs have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. My dad was the Chief Dog Handler at the RAF, so I grew up around dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities from a very young age. Being surrounded by them throughout my childhood gave me a natural understanding of their behaviour, needs, and routines. I absolutely adore dogs and genuinely enjoy spending time with them, whether that’s long walks, playtime, cuddles on the sofa, or simply keeping them company while you’re away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I treat every dog as if they were my own. I’m reliable, attentive, and committed to making sure your dog feels safe, happy, and loved while in my care. Whether your pup is energetic and playful or prefers a slower pace and lots of affection, I’ll tailor my care to suit their individual needs! I work Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm, which means I’m available for pet care visits after work on weekdays. I’m happy to provide evening drop-ins for feeding, companionship, playtime, litter tray cleaning, or letting dogs out for toilet breaks and exercise. At weekends, I have much greater flexibility and can offer visits throughout the day to suit your pet’s needs. I understand the importance of maintaining your pet’s routine, and I’ll always do my best to accommodate schedules and provide reliable, attentive care. Spending time with animals is something I genuinely enjoy, so pet care fits naturally into my week and is something I look forward to! I currently offer drop-in visits only, allowing pets to remain comfortable in their own familiar environment while receiving the care and attention they need. Although I no longer live with my family dog, I still see her every day. I regularly spend time playing with her in the house and garden, take her for walks, and provide care such as feeding and companionship whenever my parents are out or away. This has helped me maintain hands-on experience with caring for a dog’s daily needs and routine. During drop-in visits, I can provide feeding, fresh water, playtime, companionship, toilet breaks, walks (if requested), and basic cleaning such as litter tray maintenance for cats. I understand that every pet is different, so I always aim to follow the owner’s instructions carefully and maintain their usual routine to help them feel safe, happy, and relaxed while you’re away!
About: I have had animals all my life. I have a genuine love of taking care of them. I have experience with Dogs, Cats, Guinea Pigs and horses. I currently own two dogs, a cat, Guinea pigs and two ponies. I have worked with animals most of my life. I worked for the animal charity Wood Green Animal Shelter on field section, worked at a dog kennels, cattery and also worked in the hospitality industry. I have a clean driving licence. I have good knowledge of taking care of a variety of animals which has given me the experience and knowledge needed. I love the psychology of animals and understanding their body language. I am a single mum of three daughters. Two go to work and one is disabled and goes to a fantastic school in Alconbury near Huntingdon. So im at home alone a lot. I have been looking for a job that can is flexible and active but also to do something I love and have experience doing. I have a lot of free so this type of work suits me down to the ground. My home has a big garden that is fully fenced all the way round. I have tiled floors indoors which is easy cleaning. My house is open plan but I do have a utility room for a quiet place.
“Zoe came and looked after our Labrador and cat on New Year’s Eve at our house. She was incredible. Was very professional with everything that she did, we had no problems and would 100% use Zoe again. We can’t recommend her highly enough.”

About: I really love animals, and I want to help them. All my life, I have been surrounded by animals—cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, hamsters, and rats. I connect with animals easily, and I know how to care for them. They become accustomed to me quickly and grow fond of me. I take excellent care of them, including bathing and trimming their nails. I particularly enjoy going for walks, especially in the company of a dog or cat☺️🥰 I am available almost every day at any time, except on weekends. However, for certain arrangements, such as staying with an animal at your home for more than 5 days, I can make an exception and accommodate your needs ☺️. I can bathe, trim their nails, feed, walk, and even pet them ☺️. I'll spend time with your animal to ensure it feels happy and comfortable. I can let them sleep in my bed if they're feeling lonely and want to. If you have any special instructions, or if the animal is unwell, I am ready to follow your guidance and provide assistance.
“I can’t say enough great things about Tamara. From the moment we met, it was clear she genuinely loves animals. She followed all my dog’s routines, gave them so much attention, and sent regular updates that made me feel completely reassured. I returned to a clean home and very happy dogs. Tamara goes above and beyond, she’s truly exceptional! Will definitely be recommending Tamara to our friends and booking with her again! Thank you Tamara.”

“Marian and Roger are amazing! My little man was so well looked after and was given as much love as we would give him. We received photos and updates multiple times a day which really allowed us to relax and enjoy our time away with no worries. Thank you to Marian and Roger!!”

About: I have had a border collie for 13 years, shi tzu for 11 years and chihuahua for 8 years. I have self thought how to teach dogs to listen to me and to behave. My dogs are very good on the lead and at home when I am not there. They know when it is play time because I am given them routine. I love giving cuddles to my dogs. I care for my mums dog always when she is away and my mum always says her dog is coming back with better behaviour. Also, I groom my dogs so if you are interested then we can always talk about it and see what we can do. Looking forward to meeting your pooch. I am working full time Mon to Friday. My routine is always to walked the dogs in the morning for an hour. They get to run off the lead near the river (safe place) and evening time same. If someone is at home then during the day they can go to the garden. On my day off we are walking in the forest for few hours. I have fenced garden and my dogs are friendly with other dogs. During the day they have to be downstairs but night time they can sleep upstairs with me.

As usual, Lizzy has been absolutely amazing with our two boys and the house was kept clean and tidy while we were away too! Will be booking Lizzy again for the next time we are away. The boys love her too, which is good for our eldest as he isn’t great with people. Thank you Lizzy!!

Lizzie came and looked after our dog whilst we were away on holiday-no issues-he was very well looked after and house also. Easy to contact for updates but not at all intrusive to our holiday which was perfect for us-we felt he was in safe hands and would recommend.

Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Norfolk choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
