“We couldn't have asked for a better sitter than Kim for our 1 year old lexi, it was clear when we had a pre meet with Kim and her own 3 adorable dogs how much love and care lexi would receive. During her 5 day stay we were kept updated with pics etc, lexi was treated with walks in the woods and visits to the beach and lexi looked so happy enjoying her break, she was relaxed and had truly bonded with Kim and her dogs,Kim's love for dogs really stood out. I can highly recommend Kim to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter. Lexi will definitely be going back next time we go away. Once again thank you Kim Gary rasa and lexi.”

“We have a big ball of energy called bear, and it’s the first time we’ve left him, he’s come back very sleepy, and all thanks to Sharon’s achey arm, from throwing the ball for bear lol! We won’t go anywhere else when we need someone for bear, thank you so much Sharon”

“Dominic was absolutely fantastic, he was very friendly and great with my Lurcher. She's not always sure on other dogs and this was handled brilliantly and she's made a new friend with Thunder. My girl was looked after so well and I cannot thank him enough. Very happy dog and a very happy owner, thank you. 😊”

“Tracey is our go to carer for our 10 year old frenchie Lottie. She goes over and above in her care of Lottie to ensure she feels totally at home so we have no worries about her whilst we are away. I cannot recommend Tracey highly enough as a dog sitter and will continue to use her going forward.”

“We really highly recommend Kane. First time for our 3 year old Whippet to be away from us and all the worry was for nothing. She was there with my older dog and was home from home for them. Great up dates and pictures. Both dogs well cared for and happy. Thank you so much and will definitely use again”

“Mabel enjoyed her stay with Abby and her family. She was so tired in the evening of her return. We Will be using Abby again. She looked after Mabel as if she was her own. :)”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and can’t imagine a home without them. Over the years, I’ve cared for everything from high energy pups to older dogs who just need a slow stroll and gentle attention. While I’m new to offering pet care through Rover, I bring decades of hands-on experience from raising and looking after dogs within my own family. I take pride in being reliable, patient, and detail-oriented, the kind of person both pets and people can depend on. I occasionally get help from my husband and nephew, who are also lifelong dog owners, but I personally handle all Rover bookings and communication to make sure you always know who’s caring for your pet. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets the time, attention, and consistency they need throughout the day. Whether it’s morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening playtime, I plan my day around your pet’s routine to keep things as familiar and stress-free as possible. I’m available on both weekdays and weekends, and I can adjust my availability for drop-ins, walks, or overnight stays based on your needs. If your pet has a specific schedule for feeding, walks, or medication, I’m happy to follow it closely. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. At my home, pets are cared for in a secure, structured, and loving environment. I have two friendly resident dogs who are well-socialized and enjoy the company of other dogs. Introductions are always done slowly and safely to ensure everyone feels comfortable. Depending on your pet’s needs, they can either relax indoors as part of the family or enjoy their own space in a clean, secure kennel with a run. I also have a large, fully fenced garden where dogs can play, explore, or just enjoy some fresh air in a safe, enclosed space. I always follow your instructions closely and provide consistent routines, positive reinforcement, and gentle care. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can feel confident and connected while you’re away.

About: I am a massive dog lover and have had dogs in my life since I was a small child. I have experience with all different breeds. I have a golden retriever called benson who is 6 years old and I often look after my mums 2 German shepherd’s and my dad’s Rottweiler. I also did dog sitting for Rover a few years ago and had many repeat customers but closed my account as we had a baby. I now have a 2 year old so ready to start dog sitting again! I currently work from home running my own business so I am very flexible and able to work around any dog sitting requirements. All dogs will stay in my family home and I have plenty of spare time to take your dog on walks! I have a large fenced garden with lots of room for your dog to play and explore. I have a golden retriever called benson who is 6 years old. He is extremely good with other dogs and loves to play so he will be great company for your dog.
“Shaun & his family were amazing! They couldn’t have been more accommodating and were really flexible through out. We received plenty of updates and she was made to feel right at home with them. They are an absolute credit to dog lovers and you can guarentee they will be spoilt the whole time. Thank you so much, we will certainly book again.”

“Spice was taken care of excellently and was extremely happy to be there. Katie provided us with updates for our reassurance which were very appreciated. She understood all of Spice’s medical and age issues and what that meant. Would recommend to any dog owner.”

“I had such an amazing experience with Amanda and Carolina! They took incredible care of our dog Gangy while we were away for a few days. From the minute we met, I could tell that they were genuinely kind, responsible and caring people. They were incredibly responsive to all of our messages, and kept us updated with pictures, videos and texts throughout the entire stay. Gangy was so happy and content when we returned, and it's clear he was extremely well-cared for. Amanda and Carolina really went above and beyond to make sure our experience was fantastic. I couldn't recommend them more highly, and would definitely book them again in a heartbeat! So, if you are looking for someone to take care of your furry friend, look no further than Amanda and Carolina!”

“I knew Thomas was right the minute I met him. I met Thomas before we went away and immediately knew he would be the perfect person to look after our dog. Thomas sent lovely pictures of wonderful walks every day. We couldn't have been happier. Thank you so much Thomas and I know Rae will be so happy to come and stay again.”

“Julie looked after Ralph for the weekend while I was away and was great. I had daily updates and photos of what he was getting up to. He had a great time and was absolutely exhausted when he came home. I will definitely be rebooking with Julie again.”

“Eva was absolutely amazing with Luna! From the moment we met her, it was clear how much she genuinely cares about animals. She kept us updated throughout the stay with photos and messages, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Luna can be a little particular about her routine, but Eva followed all of our instructions perfectly and treated her like she was part of her own family. When I picked Luna up, she was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. It was obvious that she received plenty of love, attention, playtime, and cuddles during her stay. Finding someone you trust with your dog is priceless, and Eva exceeded every expectation. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and professional dog sitter. Luna can’t wait for her next stay with Eva! Thank you again, Eva, for taking such wonderful care of my girl!”

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
