About: I am a designer who works from home, after always having dogs I miss their company a lot. Instead of getting a dog I decided to host dogs in my house. I live in a cottage in St Austell, tucked away in a quiet part of this seaside town. I have a lovely big garden with sunshine and shade where they can play or potter about. The cottage is cool and quiet and has everything a doggy would need. Your dog will never be left alone as I work here too. I only take one dog at a time or dogs from the same household so they will have a really personal experience that will be tailored to them and their needs. There is a wealth of glorious beaches and river trails only minutes away for playtime, walks and relaxing. I try and make every day like a doggy holiday even if they are only staying a short time. I have owned dogs myself as well as having grown up with one always in the household. I had my last dog from a puppy and fully trained him, we did agility classes together too. I have also owned a rescue dog in the past who I worked closely with a trainer for to understand his body language and his needs so I do have experience with dog behaviour. I work from home during the week so your dog will have lots of 1:1 attention as I need to take regular breaks away from the screen. I always walk in the morning, lunchtime and the end of the day as a way to get outdoors and it’s such a treat to do that alongside a doggy friend. I can offer a pet free, smoke free house with a fenced in garden. Please do bring anything your dog likes along to make them comfortable, maybe a bed and some favourite toys for playtime

About: I have always had dogs in my Mothers home in Hastings. I have looked after family and friends dogs too. I have enjoyed training dogs- its so rewarding. I love walking in forests and on the nearby Par beach (5 Mins.) I keep away from traffic where possible. I miss our pet dog, Daisy of 16 years of age but I have fantastic memories & photos to cherish. Locally I have looked after 4 or 5 dogs over the last 2-3 years. I look forward to providing a home from home for your dog, with plenty of cuddles. FYI- There is a new Vetinary clinic 5 mins walk from my home, incase of emergency. I am 5 minutes walk from a dog friendly beach. I love to walk every day. I have several parks and public coastal paths to choose from. It's nice to have some snacks on hand as a reward (by agreement with your dogs requirements.) I live in a single storey detached bungalow with a rear garden, which has solid boundary walls - so escape proof. I will ensure that your dog is kept occupied, with toys and we will go on regular walks in the area, keeping away from traffic. I will feed your dog in accordance with your instructions. This will be a home from home, with lots of cuddles. Look forward to meeting you & your dog. I shall keep in regular contact during the stay.

“I would give Emily 10 stars if I could! We had to leave our two cats for two weeks and Emily was absolutely the perfect choice! We have a very extroverted cat and one who panics and had stress induced paralysis at meeting strangers from abuse in her early life and from day one Emily was somehow able to bond with both of our girls. She took pictures, videos and gave detailed accounts of all of her visits, she put a smile on our faces every time we heard from her! Our anxious cat seemed to absolutely love Emily, she let her give her a stroke and came out multiple times when Emily got there, our extroverted cat was the exact same and loved her visits! We asked Emily if she could do an extra day after we booked which was incredibly last minute and marked unavailable on her schedule, and despite leaving for Paris the same day, Emily still came and visited our girls to make sure they were okay! Em carried out everything we asked of her and went above and beyond on many occasions, even using some of her own rubbish bags for emptying the litter as we had run out of them ourselves. We will 1000% be asking Emily for her services again if we have to leave for a while! We were so worried about leaving the girls as we had never been away longer than two days before but as soon as Emily followed up with us after her visit we knew we had made the right choice and we had absolutely zero stress during our time away. If anybody is in the same position as us and you’re worried about choosing the right person to take care of your fur babies, Emily should absolutely be your first choice! A massive Thankyou again to you Emily! You are an absolute star 💗⭐”

About: Hi there! I'm a lifelong animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for animals. Alongside owning dogs myself, I've volunteered with animal shelters both in the UK and abroad, caring for dogs with a wide range of personalities, backgrounds and needs. I've also spent time volunteering with wildlife conservation projects, giving me experience working with animals of all kinds. I work from home full time, so your dog will have plenty of company, supervision and attention throughout the day. My home is spacious and can be separated into different areas if dogs need their own space, and I also have a large garden for playtime, sniffing adventures and relaxing in the sunshine. I share my home with my two rescue dogs, Zuri and Amara, who are both friendly, well-socialised and comfortable around dogs of all sizes. Their story is a special one. I first met them while volunteering at an animal shelter in Morocco. Zuri arrived at the shelter after being hit by a car and sadly lost one of his front legs as a result. My family helped cover his veterinary treatment while the shelter cared for him during his recovery. I later returned to Morocco to volunteer at the shelter for a month and completely fell in love with him, so I arranged for him to come home with me to the UK. While volunteering, I also met Amara. She quickly stole my heart too, but at the time I wasn't able to adopt her. A year and a half later, after moving into my home in Cornwall and knowing she was still waiting for her forever family, I travelled back to Morocco and brought her home as well. Both dogs have settled beautifully into life in Cornwall and love having canine visitors. Their rescue journeys have taught me so much about dog behaviour, patience, confidence building and making every dog feel safe and comfortable in a new environment. I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your dog, and I treat every dog in my care as if they were one of my own. Then home for a snack & snooze, while I complete chores Then again after school pick up have a fun run down Coosebean woods/ cycle track just at the back of my home. I’d walk neighbours dogs growing up which gave me a strong understanding of their different personalities, needs and behaviours from an early age. In addition I’ve spend 5 years caring for exotic animals which has taught me patience, attention to detail and confidence handling a variety of temperaments. I am a proud Cavapoo owner which has deepened my understanding of daily routines, training consistency, exercise needs and the importance of trust and companionship. I'm really enjoying all these experiences on Rover and THS, and I've fair experience elsewhere, just some of which is listed below: - THS pet- and house-sitter, 2025 - to date - I am building up my experience here, looking after dogs, cats and fish so far. In terms of special needs/breed considerations I have cared for senile cats, a large rescue dog reactive to fireworks, a retired racing greyhound, a miniature Dachshund, a large Lab/Staffie mix and a large German Shepherd (35kg). These are just the most recent dogs I have cared for. - Volunteer at Animal Army, Thailand, 2024 (approx. 40 dogs) - administered oral and topical medications to injured and sometimes traumatised dogs, administered ear powders, washed dogs, cared for elderly dogs, blind dogs and physically disabled dogs/amputees including putting dogs into 'wheelchairs' and walking locally. I would also clean kennels, wash and disinfect bowls and play with boisterous puppies. There were also four cats who I played with; - Dog-boarder and walker for Romanian rescue mixed breed ~2019; she suffered from motion sickness; - Dog-walker for the Cinnamon Trust ~ 2019; walked dogs for the homebound; - Dog-walker for 'doggy day care' in London ~2011-2012; walked dogs in Hyde Park on my lunchbreak. One terrier was muzzled due to aggressive tendencies towards other dogs but luckily I never had any issues with him, other than he could never decide where to do his pees n poos!; - Dog boarder for terrier and mixed breed medium size ~2011-2012; occasional/for friends; - Growing up; horse-grooming/mucking out at local stable, we kept a dozen hens in the 80s, family Labradors, cats, one hamster.....! - Informal; occasional house-sitting only (ie, for friends with no pets). I have recently been DBS-checked (can provide my DBS certificate upon request) and have full driver's licence although I am currently without wheels. Looking for wheels though! Pet care will obviously consist of walks, plays, cuddles or just quiet time if your pet prefers. I'm sure you'll tell me any special requirements so that our sit-time is well-spent and your pets are kept happy. I attend my office in Truro on different days each week and I normally live in Trewoon. My availability varies depending on the day of the week and the service you require so it's always worth enquiring. I have a smoke-free, child-free, detached cottage with secure six-foot fenced rear garden. North of my property are traffic-free rural walks surrounding the Gover Valley. Feel free to direct me to your pet's favourite toys or an old shirt of yours or similar in case they find it comforting in your absence. I would never feed your dog human food or over treat them or punish them. If I am sitting I would take them out for a walk in the local areas up to 3 times a day but they will have plenty of toilet breaks. If I am only walking your dog, I will keep them on the lead and go for as much time as they need. Your dog will be in safe hands with me. I am an at home full-time student, I start my last year in October and finish in May 2027. I will have time to go for dog walks anytime as I can pick my days and times to study.
