About: I am a designer who works from home, after always having dogs I miss their company a lot. Instead of getting a dog I decided to host dogs in my house. I live in a cottage in St Austell, tucked away in a quiet part of this seaside town. I have a lovely big garden with sunshine and shade where they can play or potter about. The cottage is cool and quiet and has everything a doggy would need. Your dog will never be left alone as I work here too. I only take one dog at a time or dogs from the same household so they will have a really personal experience that will be tailored to them and their needs. There is a wealth of glorious beaches and river trails only minutes away for playtime, walks and relaxing. I try and make every day like a doggy holiday even if they are only staying a short time. I have owned dogs myself as well as having grown up with one always in the household. I had my last dog from a puppy and fully trained him, we did agility classes together too. I have also owned a rescue dog in the past who I worked closely with a trainer for to understand his body language and his needs so I do have experience with dog behaviour. I work from home during the week so your dog will have lots of 1:1 attention as I need to take regular breaks away from the screen. I always walk in the morning, lunchtime and the end of the day as a way to get outdoors and it’s such a treat to do that alongside a doggy friend. I can offer a pet free, smoke free house with a fenced in garden. Please do bring anything your dog likes along to make them comfortable, maybe a bed and some favourite toys for playtime
“Laura, her husband and their lovely dog looked after my Cavapoo as if he was part of their own family. From the moment we left him, we felt completely reassured that he was in safe, caring hands. Laura was incredibly attentive throughout the day and kept us updated with lots of lovely photos and videos, which made such a difference. We could see him out enjoying walks, playing happily with their dog, relaxing around the house, and curled up comfortably on the sofa. It was clear he had settled in so well and was having a brilliant time. After his overnight stay, he was completely zonked out in bed, which said it all. He had obviously been well cared for, entertained, and made to feel right at home. We would highly recommend Laura. She made the whole experience feel easy and reassuring, and we were so pleased to see how happy and relaxed he was. Next time we are in that part of the world, we will definitely be saying hello to Laura and her family again.”

About: I’ve had dogs all my life growing up and had 2 dogs in my adult life, both from puppies. I am used to being around high energy dogs that require a lot of attention and stimulation. I have experience with reactive dogs and dogs with behavioural issues. I have house trained many dogs overtime. I absolutely adore dogs and being in their company makes my heart happy! I work full time from home Monday- Friday with Friday afternoons off. I am available most weekends for dog boarding. My work is very relaxed so plenty of time to give your dog attention, toilet breaks and walks during my lunch breaks and after work. I live on my own in a 2 bedroom flat. I don’t have a garden but there is a shared communal garden for toilet breaks. I live a 3 minute walk from a beach and some other beautiful walks. I also drive and I’m happy to take your dog out and about on my travels. I often like to go to dog friendly cafes to read so your dog would be more than welcome to join me. I’m not worried about dogs being on my furniture etc, I want them to feel comfortable and welcome in my home. I’m happy to dog sit in your home as long as there is WiFi and a kettle for a cuppa!

“I would give Emily 10 stars if I could! We had to leave our two cats for two weeks and Emily was absolutely the perfect choice! We have a very extroverted cat and one who panics and had stress induced paralysis at meeting strangers from abuse in her early life and from day one Emily was somehow able to bond with both of our girls. She took pictures, videos and gave detailed accounts of all of her visits, she put a smile on our faces every time we heard from her! Our anxious cat seemed to absolutely love Emily, she let her give her a stroke and came out multiple times when Emily got there, our extroverted cat was the exact same and loved her visits! We asked Emily if she could do an extra day after we booked which was incredibly last minute and marked unavailable on her schedule, and despite leaving for Paris the same day, Emily still came and visited our girls to make sure they were okay! Em carried out everything we asked of her and went above and beyond on many occasions, even using some of her own rubbish bags for emptying the litter as we had run out of them ourselves. We will 1000% be asking Emily for her services again if we have to leave for a while! We were so worried about leaving the girls as we had never been away longer than two days before but as soon as Emily followed up with us after her visit we knew we had made the right choice and we had absolutely zero stress during our time away. If anybody is in the same position as us and you’re worried about choosing the right person to take care of your fur babies, Emily should absolutely be your first choice! About: My family has always owned dogs so I have a lifetime of personal experience. I volunteered and multiple animal sanctuaries and zoos growing up and I worked for pets at home for more than three years where i specialized in dog care. I am available most days and weekends for any bookings and will normally be happy to take bookings on short notice. The safety of the pets come first and for that reason I would make sure to supervise them and if in the garden make sure its enclosed and has no open gates. I work part time and have a very flexible daily schedule. The best thing to do is contact me with the dates and times you require and I will do my best to accommodate. The safety of your pets is my top priority, on our walks I like to keep them on the lead untill in certain they will listen to commands from me.

I'm really enjoying all these experiences on Rover and THS, and I've fair experience elsewhere, just some of which is listed below: - THS pet- and house-sitter, 2025 - to date - I am building up my experience here, looking after dogs, cats and fish so far. In terms of special needs/breed considerations I have cared for senile cats, a large rescue dog reactive to fireworks, a retired racing greyhound, a miniature Dachshund, a large Lab/Staffie mix and a large German Shepherd (35kg). These are just the most recent dogs I have cared for. - Volunteer at Animal Army, Thailand, 2024 (approx. 40 dogs) - administered oral and topical medications to injured and sometimes traumatised dogs, administered ear powders, washed dogs, cared for elderly dogs, blind dogs and physically disabled dogs/amputees including putting dogs into 'wheelchairs' and walking locally. I would also clean kennels, wash and disinfect bowls and play with boisterous puppies. There were also four cats who I played with; - Dog-boarder and walker for Romanian rescue mixed breed ~2019; she suffered from motion sickness; - Dog-walker for the Cinnamon Trust ~ 2019; walked dogs for the homebound; - Dog-walker for 'doggy day care' in London ~2011-2012; walked dogs in Hyde Park on my lunchbreak. One terrier was muzzled due to aggressive tendencies towards other dogs but luckily I never had any issues with him, other than he could never decide where to do his pees n poos!; - Dog boarder for terrier and mixed breed medium size ~2011-2012; occasional/for friends; - Growing up; horse-grooming/mucking out at local stable, we kept a dozen hens in the 80s, family Labradors, cats, one hamster.....! - Informal; occasional house-sitting only (ie, for friends with no pets). I have recently been DBS-checked (can provide my DBS certificate upon request) and have full driver's licence although I am currently without wheels. Looking for wheels though! Pet care will obviously consist of walks, plays, cuddles or just quiet time if your pet prefers. I'm sure you'll tell me any special requirements so that our sit-time is well-spent and your pets are kept happy. I attend my office in Truro on different days each week and I normally live in Trewoon. My availability varies depending on the day of the week and the service you require so it's always worth enquiring. I have a smoke-free, child-free, detached cottage with secure six-foot fenced rear garden. North of my property are traffic-free rural walks surrounding the Gover Valley. About: I am a designer who works from home, after always having dogs I miss their company a lot. Instead of getting a dog I decided to host dogs in my house. I live in a cottage in St Austell, tucked away in a quiet part of this seaside town. I have a lovely big garden with sunshine and shade where they can play or potter about. The cottage is cool and quiet and has everything a doggy would need. Your dog will never be left alone as I work here too. I only take one dog at a time or dogs from the same household so they will have a really personal experience that will be tailored to them and their needs. There is a wealth of glorious beaches and river trails only minutes away for playtime, walks and relaxing. I try and make every day like a doggy holiday even if they are only staying a short time. I have owned dogs myself as well as having grown up with one always in the household. I had my last dog from a puppy and fully trained him, we did agility classes together too. I have also owned a rescue dog in the past who I worked closely with a trainer for to understand his body language and his needs so I do have experience with dog behaviour. I work from home during the week so your dog will have lots of 1:1 attention as I need to take regular breaks away from the screen. I always walk in the morning, lunchtime and the end of the day as a way to get outdoors and it’s such a treat to do that alongside a doggy friend.
