About: Hi! I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life, and being around them is just part of my everyday routine. At home we have two very friendly Eastern European Shepherds, so I’m very used to living with large breeds and helping with feeding, brushing, playtime, and keeping dogs calm and happy. My parents have lots of experience with dogs, and my dad is an IMDT‑qualified puppy instructor, so I’ve learned a lot from being involved in training sessions and understanding different dog personalities. It’s taught me how to stay confident, gentle, and patient with all kinds of dogs. I’m currently home from uni, which means I have plenty of time to devote to looking after dogs like walking, drop‑ins, or giving them a safe, comfy area in our 3 storey house, away from the shepherds if needed. There are also lovely woodland paths and fields close to our home, so dogs get plenty of chances for fun walks. If you’re looking for someone who’s grown up in a dog‑experienced home, is confident with small and large breeds, with lots of time to give your dog attention and care, I’d love to help! I'm currently at home from university, so I am free any day of the week to look after your dogs and available for boarding/walking any time! We have a fenced garden and a very dog friendly household where your dog will be treated like a member of the family. There are lovely walks nearby and your fur baby will get lots of attention and plenty of cuddles while they're here!
“Laurie is a superb dog sitter. She's got the perfect house for it and she asked all the important questions about my dog, which showed that she is clearly experienced with dogs and really cares about them. I'd 100% recommend her and will use her again next time I'm in the area. Thanks Laurie!”

“Miro had a lovely overnight stay at Irina’s prior to his longer stay in September. He was very happy playing with all the dog toys in the toy box! It was discussed with Irina that it would suit Miro better if Irina came to our house for the September stay as it’s a long stay. We have arranged this with Irina and look forward to seeing her again.”

“Shaun and his family looked after my dog so well - he had a wonderful time. They are very caring and they were very happy to walk and play with my dog. I am very grateful and I will certainly be calling on them again. Thank you!”

“Jo and Ian were the perfect sitters for our Millie. They keep us updated throughout her stay re how she was getting on and sent photos so we could see how relaxed and happy she was, as well as being perfectly spoilt throughout her stay. We would definitely use them again.”

“I have nothing but, praise for Scott. Truffle has clearly had the best time & has been well looked after physically and emotionally. I’m not entirely sure she wanted to come home 😂. We would 100% recommend and rebook 🥰”

“Kaos really enjoyed his time away, he has some issues with having 1 eye and needing some meds but they looked after him well, even when he got stressed on day one. Calmed and enjoyed the rest of his stay. I would definitely recommend Billie and Kane as they were so understanding and he came back feeling happy and he was so excited when we got back which was lovely as he is heading to 16 years old but can be puppy like but needs the support too, Thank you both, can’t wait to book again..”

“I’m sure if our dog Miro could talk he’d say how much he enjoyed another lovely stay with Linda and Craig. He comes back really relaxed and I’d recommend Linda always as she’s so tuned into the needs of Miro.”

About: I am currently looking after a dog for a friend on a weekly basis, often going to the park, looking after him overnight, and sometimes day trips. I have raised my family dog since he was a puppy, so am fully aware of what that entails. When I go back home, I walk and take care of him. I live with my boyfriend who has had cats in the past, so I am used to having them in the house and how to take care of them. With this, I have lots of experience of walking, feeding, bathing, and keeping pets happy! I'm currently working from home full-time, so can look after pets at any time! My hours are also very flexible so I'm able to go for walks during my working day. I live in a flat, with a secure back garden that is fenced in. The front door to the flat block is always kept locked. I am happy to do whatever is needed to keep your pet safe and happy!
“Evie was fantastic! I felt very comfortable about leaving my cat in her care as she had taken the time and effort to get to know her and what she would need whilst we were away. Evie was very reliable and seemed committed to doing a good job and we really appreciated that and so did Treacle, our cat! She was very relaxed and calm when we returned which was a testament to the quality of care she had received.”

About: My prices may be a little higher than some on Rover, but I am the ONLY licensed dog boarder on this site in Peterborough. This means that I am regulated by the Council who have inspected my property and approved me as a professional boarder/daycare provider, governed by DEFRA regulations. Licence Number 119691 Issued by Peterborough City Council. Please use this link to receive £15 off your first booking with me…. https://www.rover.com/sit/lynnd34729 Please ensure any dog boarder or doggy daycare provider that you use, is licensed by the local Council. If they don’t display a license number, they haven’t got one !!! Any insurance that they may hold (including any that Rover give) will be invalidated….as any insurance will be, that you have. Don’t take the chance of something happening to your furbaby ! Ask to see the license…..to make sure. At Dixons dog sitters, we are BIG softies for all animals....but especially for dogs. I have owned and looked after dogs of my own now, for over 40 years and the profile photo shows our pup...7 year old Polly. I have now professionally looked after other peoples dogs for 4 years. I have full public liability insurance. I also hold a pet first aid certificate and a diploma in pet care. Our dog, Polly is such a fun little girl, who loves to play. Polly can sometimes be bossy with younger dogs, but once settled down they quickly form very close friendship bonds. She shares her toys, her home, her owners…and even her food with her new doggy friends. I am semi retired and work part time from home, so I am available 24/7 to pamper and care for your fur baby. Paul (my Husband) works nights, so is up and around from lunchtime every day, so there is ALWAYS someone at home. Your dog will never be left alone, and when it is too hot or too wet to go outside, there are always lots of toys to play with. They will DEFINITELY get spoiled when they holiday with Aunty Lynn and Uncle Paul ! We will care for small to medium sized dogs that fit the following criteria. However, we do occasionally take on bigger dogs (lurchers, labradors etc) Your dog needs to be socialised with other dogs. Not be aggressive in any way. Walk nicely on the lead. Be able to sleep alone or with other dogs. Please take a look at some of the reviews left by owners. Dixons dog sitters holds £2million public liability insurance and we will take care of your fur baby, as well as we take care of our own. I always insist on a meet and greet before your dog comes to stay. This will reassure you, that our house is a safe, secure, clean and loving environment. You get to meet our dog and any other dogs that are staying at the time. This makes the whole process so much easier to handle for everyone concerned. I know how stressful it can be, to leave your pets with anyone, other than family. We will never take dogs out in the heat of the day, or when it is raining heavily and won't let them off lead, unless told that they can be trusted to not run away. We have a large secure garden with shaded areas to play in, and enjoy indoor playtime and enrichment activities, when we are unable to go out for a walk, due to adverse weather conditions. We allow all dogs the full run of the house.....but have a barrier at the bottom of the stairs, and at the entrance to the kitchen, where they can be contained, if we open the front door. We are getting electric gates fitted soon. Every aspect is covered to keep them safe, secure and happy, whilst they are in my care. We always send lots of updates and photos to reassure owners. I am licensed to board 5 dogs at a time, so your dog needs to be well socialised and toilet trained. All dogs are walked once/twice a day....weather and ability dependant. All dogs are let out into our large secured garden to play, or go to the toilet every hour or so. In the Summer months, the back door is left open, so they can come and go as they please. Their last toilet break is usually around midnight. Your fur baby will become part of our family whilst you are away. There are no favourites in this household, and no forbidden areas. Everyone is treated the same. If Polly goes for a walk, so does your dog. If Polly gets a treat, so does your dog. You can enjoy your time away, knowing that your fur baby will not just be taken care of….they will be loved. Please read my testimonials. Lynn is semi retired and works from home and Paul works nights, so is up and about from lunchtime onwards. There is always at least one of us at home. We have a large private and secure garden where dogs can run and play. Enrichment activities are part of the day and walkies are twice daily. We have a barrier that is placed at the bottom of the stairs and a barrier to contain any dogs whilst we answer the front door.

About: I’ve struggled myself to find the right home to look after my precious boys. I offer a home from home setting where your dog(s) will receive lots of cuddles and lots of playtime. We have two male cockapoos, one of which is of senior age. We have previously had Great Danes (gorgeous breed) and have grown up round a variety of breeds. We have two children age 10 and 13 who have grown up around animals and absolutely love dogs and if your dog wants to run around with smaller humans they’re all for it. I work from home part time so I’m available for cuddles on the sofa and they can play freely with open access to the enclosed garden. We will accommodate so that everything is familiar to what they are used to for example sleeping in the kitchen, sleeping in a bedroom, being on furniture and so forth. We have a Vets locally who our dogs are registered with and plenty of green areas for dogs to have good walks. Any questions please feel free to ask. I know they are your babies and we will take great care of them. I work from home part time and I’m kept company by my two cockerpoos; one who is old and quite happily chills and the other who is seven and can always be encouraged to play. We have a secure enclosed garden where they will have access to play freely. We have lots of walks and greenery close by so they don’t have to do the same route all the time and can adapt the walks we take to your dogs needs.
“Ingrid has been wonderful with Rua. Rua took to her and her husband straight away and loves spending time with them. They have been taking Rua on walks and looking after her for day boarding, and she always comes home happy and tired from all the fun. Ingrid is friendly, reliable, and easy to communicate with. We feel completely comfortable leaving Rua in her care and would highly recommend her.”

“Many thanks Tom and your lovely family, for taking good care of Daisy yesterday. Our labradoodle is 11 now and it’s the 1st occasion we have left her with Tom. He sent through some lovely photos of Daisy with the children, which was very reassuring and gave us the confidence to know that she had settled in and will be fine when we leave her again. Hopefully next time the weather will be less soggy for your walks !”

“I had a great experience with Carla and Jim! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and caring pet care. From the start, they were incredibly friendly and approachable, which immediately put me at ease. They arranged a meet and greet beforehand, which was a really thoughtful touch and helped both me and my dog feel comfortable before the stay as it was my first time using Rover. During the time they were looking after my dog, they provided regular updates and photos, which was so reassuring and showed how well my dog was being cared for. It was clear that my dog was happy, relaxed, and getting plenty of attention. I really appreciated the level of care and communication throughout. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Carla and Jim again and would definitely recommend them to other dog owners looking for someone trustworthy and kind to look after their pet! Thank you!”

About: Myself and my husband are experienced dog owners, and have been around dogs our whole lives. We are happy to consider any dog breed and can handle large or small dogs. We had an Alaskan Malamute weighing 48kgs in her prime, sadly we lost her in August at 14 years old, so no trouble handling big and stubborn breeds! We do have a 14 year old cockerpoo called Alfie who is very tolerant and misses his companion - therefore dogs coming to us must be okay with other dogs. He is neutered. We have a loving family home with husband and wife team and grown up children who are always happy to play with dogs walk, entertain, exercise etc (children are 16, 19, 22 and are dog lovers like us!) We have a large enclosed garden for dogs to roam around in and are a cat free home. Boarding and doggy day care welcome, we often go to the seaside too, so if you pooch likes the beach they'd be welcome to come with us if they can travel in the car okay. Happy to answer any questions, or set up a meet and greet with your furbaby. I work part time 3 days a week and my husband works from home full time, so there is always someone around to keep you dog company and give them the love and care they need. Evenings and weekends we have 3 grown up children that are dog lovers like us, and are more than happy to help keep your dog entertained (children are 22, 19, 16 so not little kids). We have a large secure fenced garden for dogs to roam around in as they please. There is always someone at home. We have a 14 year old cockerpoo who misses his companion who we lost this year. He is a gentlemen. Happy to crate if needed, though we do not have a crate at the moment so this will need to be provided.
“Scott was great with Lyra, and set up a pre-day care meeting so she could get to know the environment and meet their lovely Chug, Cleo. Provided lots of updates throughout the day for peace of mind.”

“Effy has an amazing time ever week and although I was nervous about leaving her, that has completely disappeared now! Effy will be visiting weekly for the foreseeable future. She is looked after so well, I am kept up to date with pictures and I know she is cared for as well as she could be at home. So glad I found Eszter she is fantastic!”
About: I grew up cats and dogs around me. I’m the one when family or friends need someone to look after their babies . I love spending time with pets. I do not have a garden I have julliet balconies but covered with nets so it’s not a danger for pets. I do not have anything to cause danger for animals at home.

About: I am a student at Newcastle University and have a part time job. I have always loved animals and have had cats all my life, but my sister got a dog a few years ago (fox red lab called Ned - our pride and joy!) and I have loved looking after him when she goes away. As I don't work every day, but I work in retail, I have to stay up until xmas eve and be back in Newcastle on the 28th (My family live in Lincolnshire for reference) so I would love to have some company over the xmas holidays! I take this very seriously and consider myself a very responsible individual, as I will be very much locked in in the evenings doing uni work! My schedule is very random and is subject to change, so for inquiries I am more than happy to work around you. Please ask what days would suit and I can move my shifts around! We do have an outside courtyard area for the dog/cat to explore and I am more than happy to take them on as many walks as required. we have a spacious lounge/kitchen living area so the pets can get comfy!

“Today Oscar visited us again, my dogs recognised him immediately and were very happy of seeing him again. This time after walking my 2 boxers together he also helped me to teach them how to use a special stair for the car boot which I have recently purchased. I can tell that the whole experience was very positive. I learn a lot from Oscar every time on how to interact with my dogs, how to create an easy going environment for the future. Visibly he has a wealth of knowledge on training dogs and control them with kindness, calmness and good energy.”

I dont have a dog crate, so you will need to provide this if required.
About: Hi, I’m Harriet, my 15 year old rescue jack Russell passed away in August 2025 and I’m missing the company and love walking with furry friends! I have a HNC qualification in animal management, as well as worked in a rescue kennels and cattery for 5 years and worked in a pet shop for 2 years. Pets are my passion and I would love to meet yours! I work shifts but I know my schedule far in advance so it is best for me to plan walks with your companion. Looking forward to meeting you and your pet! I am well experienced in medications, specialised diets, elderly dogs, and varied temperaments. My home is pet safe as I had my dog for 10 years.

“Angie is EXCELLENT! From initial contact communication was great, we needed someone to walk our dog for initially 4 days then extended it 8 which she accommodated for us. The initial meet & greet went brilliant, our dog Iggi can be reticent with people she doesn’t know but immediately warmed to Angie. She excitedly greeted her when going on a walk and Angie always sent a little report with each walk and a couple of photos. Iggi came back from each walk sated and happy. We cannot praise Angie highly enough and will use her in future when we are in the area visiting family & friends”

“Hi Irina...it was a pleasure meeting you. Simba enjoyed his walks very much. Irina always used to come with a smile on her face and Simba used to be thrilled seeing her. She took good take care of our baby. We are very thankful for all your help. Hope to see you soon. We are your permanent customer for now on. Kind regards”

“Elzbieta took Echo for 2 walks for me and arranged a meet and greet before hand. Echo took to her very well. On the walks, I was updated after that Echo had done several pee and poo breaks and was sent some very lovely photos of him. She communicated well with me. I would definitely trust her to walk Echo again and recommend her to others looking for a dog walker 😊”

Animal welfare consultant for several charities and public services, Puppy trainer and novice gun dog trainer I have spent most of my adult life working with animals mainly dogs, but have experience with cats and scary birds, it’s a passion for me Generally Entering into an Animals house for the first time is challenging for the Animal, by letting the animal come to you allows for the Animal To build trust
About: I’ve had pets ever since I was little and loved looking after them. I absolutely love nature and all animals (I don’t eat meat and my dream is to save the environment). My dogs, Sky and Lolly, and my cat, Ivy, are my whole world so I know how scary it is to leave your fur-baby with someone new. I am absolutely dedicated to making sure that all animals in (and out of) my care are well looked after and feel safe and loved! I’ve got a big heart and can’t resist looking after any animal I come across. I’m currently working part time so I can be available for walks and boarding most evenings/ Thursdays and Fridays during the day. Availability: Monday: evenings Tuesday: N/A Wednesday: evenings Thursday: daytime/evenings Friday: daytime/evenings Saturday: *daytime/evenings (usually depends on the week)* Sunday: evenings I have an enclosed garden which is a decent size. I also have a very friendly pug/shih tzu cross who would be more than happy to keep your fur-baby company. (I also have a cat who is friendly but pretty much keeps herself to herself). Pets are allowed on the furniture. I’m very vigilant about pet safety.

About: I have a lifetime of experience caring for both dogs and cats, including having pets of my own and working in a kennels for a year. This gave me hands-on experience caring for a variety of dogs, understanding their different personalities, routines and needs. I’m confident with feeding, walking, cleaning, providing enrichment, and making sure animals feel safe, comfortable and cared for. I understand that every pet is an individual, and I always take the time to build trust and make them feel at ease. After losing my own pets, I’m looking forward to reconnecting with animals and providing the same love, attention and companionship to other people’s pets I work part-time and also work from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to offer pet care around my working hours. I’m available for lunchtime visits and walks, as well as after-work appointments, making it easier to fit around your pet’s routine. I understand how important consistency and companionship are for pets, and I’ll always make sure they receive plenty of attention, care and affection while you’re away. I am available anytime during the weekends an my days off. I provide care in your pet’s own home, where they feel most comfortable and secure. I understand that keeping their normal routine is important, so I take the time to follow their usual feeding, walking and care schedule. During visits, I’ll provide companionship, playtime, feeding, fresh water, toilet breaks, and plenty of attention. For cats, I’ll respect their individual personalities and give them space if they need it while making sure they feel safe and cared for. I’ll always treat your home and your pets with the same care and respect I would give my own.

Id love to ensure a comforting time for your doggies while you’re away, with the familiarity of their own homes combined with regular playtimes, walkies and cuddles to ensure no lonely or anxious thoughts when you’re away!

“Danielle looked after sungi yesterday. Sungi had an amazing time and really enjoyed her adventure. I get very worried being apart from Sungi but Danielle was incredibly reassuring, and reliable. It was such a relief to know sungi was safe and happy. Lovely to see the photos of their adventures too.”

“Another amazing stay for Brad. We drove into the street where Kayleigh lives and Brad is howling with excitement, he runs in without looking back. When I went to pick him up he didn’t seem happy to be leaving. We know he is always happy when he goes to Kayleigh she is amazing.”

“Enzo had his first overnight stay and, although he can be a little anxious away from home, he settled in brilliantly with the sitter’s care. We really appreciated the frequent updates and videos, which reassured us he was happy and well looked after. Excellent communication and a very positive experience overall.”

“Kay and her family looked after our dog overnight and he had the best time! A very lovely family with a super friendly dog, Hera, who really cared for Arnie. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough. Thank you 🤩”

“Milena was absolutely wonderful with my kitten! ❤️ I left him with her for 3 weeks and she took such great care of him. She kept me updated every single day with lovely photos and videos of what they had been getting up to, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. From the photos and videos he looks so happy, healthy and very well cared for, and he’s growing so well. You can really tell how much love and attention she gave him. 🥰 I would definitely recommend Milena to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to look after their pets. Thank you so much, Milena! ❤️”

“Catherine is such a kind and active sitter. Her energy and environment was perfect for our social and curious 20 month old dog. She came to meet Toro in person and invited us to see her home. She communicated well pre and during the sit with lots of pictures showing Toro playing and going for long walks. I knew he was well cared for and having a good time. I will hopefully have Toro stay with her again.”

“Eleni, is just a dream. From initial contact she was proactive with her responses, accommodating and very welcoming. Frieda is a very shy dog with strangers, but within seconds, she was wagging her tail, trying to get kisses and cuddles. She settled into the house very quickly. I do believe this was due to the warm and kind aura Eleni gives. Freida had a very nice time over her weekend stay. With lots of reassurance for me with photo and video updates, kept my mind at rest. When it was time for Freida to come home, she didn't want to leave an ran upstairs to hide lol....that's how much she enjoyed her stay. We will definitely be using Eleni again, and i highly recommend her. Thank you Eleni, i will message you shortly to discuss future stays. Thank you Charlie & Freida xxx”

“Amazing service, our dog couldn’t have been in better hands, they went over and beyond our expectations and we would be delighted to use their service whenever we need a dog sitter. Great communication and photos throughout the stay and excellent care and attention given . Thank you once again”
