Rover Extended Care Rate Test FAQ
Rover recently introduced an Extended Care rate pilot in the U.K. Here are some answers to frequently asked questions:
Q: Do I need to do anything in order to use these new rates?
A: No, this new rate will be automatically applied to any new bookings you receive.
Q: I received an email saying I am eligible for this test, will it apply to all my bookings?
A: The rates will only apply to House Sitting and Boarding bookings that are added after the extended care rate is live. If you’d like to institute similar pricing for stays booked previously, you can always suggest a price modification for existing stays.
Q: How will Rover determine if the Extended Care should be applied to a particular stay?
A: Pet parents in the test markets will be required to enter in a start and end time range for boarding and house sitting when they send a request. This is the time that will be used to calculate an Extended Care rate if applicable.
- If pick-up time is over 2 hours to 8 hours later than drop-off time, an additional 50% of a one night stay will be added
- If pick-up time is over 8 hours later than drop-off time, an additional 100% of a one night stay will be added
The time difference between drop-off and pick-up will be calculated using the end of the time range for drop off and the beginning of the time range for pick up.
Q: Can I customise or opt out of charging the Extended Care rate?
A: At this time, it’s not possible to customise or opt out of the Extended Care rate. Please note that you can do a flat cost adjustment to the final price of the stay if you would not like the extended care rate to apply to a stay.
Q: Which markets are included?
A: For this pilot program, the following areas in the United Kingdom are included:
- East of England
- Greater London
- North West England
- Scotland
- South West England
- Wales
