Isaac was amazing with our little guy. From the first moment, he demonstrated how to interact with our dog to build trust and our relationship with Arson. They sent a follow up text with notes after our sessions for us to reference later, which was so helpful, and they were just overall so easy to work with. Bring your dogs to Isaac, you won’t regret it!

We had a great first session with Coralie. She took time to really understand what we are hoping to improve with our dog and had no judgment. We will definitely continue our training with her!

Athena has been so dedicated to understanding the behaviors and dynamics of our 2 dogs, and we are so grateful she took us on. We are already seeing improvements in our pups (less leash pulling, reactivity, more attentiveness, calm, and focus), and look forward to future sessions with her.

About: During our consultation, we will figure out which positive reinforcement training method will work best for your pup. As we are doing this, I will be outlining a training plan for you & your pup (which you will get a copy of!) After each lesson with your pup, (if available) I ask all pet parents to join me for a quick briefing to see what their pup has learned. As well as showing them what has been working for them & how to continue after our lesson.

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Nima work with dogs, and it’s clear he has a natural gift for understanding and connecting with them. His calm, patient energy puts even the most anxious dogs at ease, and his use of positive reinforcement makes training both effective and enjoyable. Nima takes the time to tailor his approach to each dog’s personality and helps pet parents feel confident and supported throughout the process. His passion for helping dogs and their people build strong, lasting bonds truly sets him apart. Any pup would be lucky to learn from him!

AC's talent for working with dogs is rooted in his observational skills giving him an ability to continuously adapt and a knack for critical assessment. AC has risen to the challenge of working with my reactive GSD with a sense of caring that is incredibly refreshing and exactly what my sensitive dog needs! In addition to having a natural talent for understanding dogs, AC's excitement and passion for both dog training and dog cognition makes him an excellent trainer and caregiver. If you want someone who cares about dogs as much as you care about yours, AC is a great fit!

FAQs

Frequently asked questions about Dog Training on Rover

To list on Rover, trainers must:

Pass a third-party background check

Show proof of education or certification in dog training

Commit to rewards-based training

Rewards-based training encourages dogs to offer desired behaviors by reinforcing the behavior with something the dog likes, including treats, play, or toys. Rewards-based training prioritizes using the least intrusive intervention; it promotes thinking rather than punishing mistakes.

When rewards are used, the likelihood the behavior is repeated increases. The positive connection to the reward results in making learning enjoyable, strengthens the human-animal bond and over time leads to consistent desired behaviors.

Training can happen many places — your home, a park, a store, or anywhere else that you and your trainer decide is best for the training you are doing! Many trainers will recommend training in your home. This allows them to observe your dog in their natural environment so they can effectively assess and best help reach your training goals.

Trainers will often mention on their profile where they typically hold training sessions, but you can always contact a trainer to learn more!

No problem! When you initially contact a trainer, you will be prompted to select a proposed first session date — this is not final, and is confirmed only if both parties decide to move forward. We also recommend contacting multiple trainers to make sure you find a trainer that is the right fit for you and your pet.

Of course! Having a trainer that is the right fit for both you and your pup is an important step to reaching your training goals. We recommend reaching out to any trainer that interests you. Your initial request is not final until both you and the trainer decide you want to move forward with booking.

Also, trainers may offer or require consultations. Make sure to ask trainers so you can make the best decision for you and your pet.

Many trainers on Rover indicate experience in a wide range of behaviors, from puppy training to more advanced behaviors and training types.

Review a trainer's profile to see if their experience aligns with your needs, and if you have questions, don't hesitate to contact them to ensure they're the right trainer for you and your pet.
