Ashley connected with my 6 mth old fur baby immediately. She taught him some basics and he caught on fairly quickly. He’s pretty high strung so a few tasks were challenging to get through but got it. I’m thoroughly pleased and look forward to working with Ashley more.

Vivian was very informative and so patient with me and Sage to run it through our consultation. I’ve learned more about Sage during that entire session than I have since I’ve had her and it opened a world of possibilities for me and Sage to explore and grow thanks to her help- would recommend her for trick and clicker training alongside reactivity management as well!

Beyond having an amazing personality, Macey is a wonderful dog handler and trainer. She is reliable, consistent, and eager to teach new dogs and their handlers. She will always 100% put the dog needs first and foremost. I’ve had pinky pie for about 3 years; Pinky was a failed out service dog (being to friendly/loving) her last home before me made her scared of the world due to cruel human. It was a long road but transformation and confidence we grew from training with Macey is incredible!!

About: I strive to get to the bottom on the problem , what makes your pet different do what they do. A 1 month training program will not fix a whole life of disobedience , anxiety ect. But i can making a firm foundation to grow from is key.

"I can’t say enough good things about Tori’s care for my highly attached chihuahua, Jezzie, while I’m out of town. Not only does she provide top-notch overnight boarding, but she also reinforces Jezzie’s initial training when she stays. Tori provides a daily update w/pics, which I love, but nothing does my heart better than seeing Jezzie’s happy tail whenever she sees Tori. They have a bond. We both, much prefer, the personalized attention Tori gives us than any of our previous experiences . I heard about Tori from a friend and I highly recommend her services to any dog owner!"

Over the past few years, Joanna has worked with my 5 dogs in various capacities, and every time, she has been fantastic. Thanks to Joanna, my husky (a breed notoriously difficult to train), who was completely unmanageable on a leash, now walks on a loose leash, and her reactivity to other dogs has improved significantly. Joanna goes above and beyond - she even accompanied me to vet visits. In addition to training with me present (which means she’s training me!), she has worked with my dogs independently, and I trust her completely.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions about Dog Training on Rover

To list on Rover, trainers must:

Pass a third-party background check

Show proof of education or certification in dog training

Commit to rewards-based training

Rewards-based training encourages dogs to offer desired behaviors by reinforcing the behavior with something the dog likes, including treats, play, or toys. Rewards-based training prioritizes using the least intrusive intervention; it promotes thinking rather than punishing mistakes.

When rewards are used, the likelihood the behavior is repeated increases. The positive connection to the reward results in making learning enjoyable, strengthens the human-animal bond and over time leads to consistent desired behaviors.

Training can happen many places — your home, a park, a store, or anywhere else that you and your trainer decide is best for the training you are doing! Many trainers will recommend training in your home. This allows them to observe your dog in their natural environment so they can effectively assess and best help reach your training goals.

Trainers will often mention on their profile where they typically hold training sessions, but you can always contact a trainer to learn more!

No problem! When you initially contact a trainer, you will be prompted to select a proposed first session date — this is not final, and is confirmed only if both parties decide to move forward. We also recommend contacting multiple trainers to make sure you find a trainer that is the right fit for you and your pet.

Of course! Having a trainer that is the right fit for both you and your pup is an important step to reaching your training goals. We recommend reaching out to any trainer that interests you. Your initial request is not final until both you and the trainer decide you want to move forward with booking.

Also, trainers may offer or require consultations. Make sure to ask trainers so you can make the best decision for you and your pet.

Many trainers on Rover indicate experience in a wide range of behaviors, from puppy training to more advanced behaviors and training types.

Review a trainer's profile to see if their experience aligns with your needs, and if you have questions, don't hesitate to contact them to ensure they're the right trainer for you and your pet.
