Honestly, there aren’t enough words to discuss how amazing Aubrey is. She’s incredibly communicative, intuitive, and intentional in working with both of my dogs (that each have very unique personality traits). Watching her work with each dog while also teaching us about best practices and further teaching on our own is invaluable. I’m so grateful we get to work with Aubrey!

We are so grateful for the training Angela has given our two pups! They are sweeter(if that was even possible),calmer and happier than we could have ever imagined. Angela has been patient, kind and nonjudgmental in her encouragement of our learning the “commands”. The pups now respond readily to “touch”and “sit and “free” and both have great trail manners when we walk everyday!

Blanca has been an incredible trainer for my dog, Roni. We started with her after adopting him at one, and over the past two years she’s transformed his behavior. He used to jump on counters, ignore commands, and stay crated while we worked—now he listens and has full roam of the house with no issues. Blanca also house sits, sends updates and photos, walks him daily, plays with him, and relaxes outside while he sunbathes. She spoils him (even steak!) and leaves our home immaculate. I never worry when we travel—she’s truly trustworthy and exceptional. Highly recommend Blanca for all care needs!

Paulina with Unstoppable agility has helped us level up our agility skills. Her attention to detail and commitment to getting speed out of my dog, has helped us prepare for big events like the UKI US Open, and World team tryouts. My favorite part about working with Paulina is that she has feedback on how we can improve an agility sequence, even if we get through it correctly. She encourages me to see all the handling options, and try them all. She is very kind to people and dogs!

We had an incredible experience with Fawn—honestly, it felt like a miracle worker walked through our door! We have five small dogs, including our 6-month-old puppy, Pixie, and after just one visit, we saw an immediate difference. Even before the appointment, Fawn was responsive and thoughtful, helping us evaluate what Pixie needed. During the visit, she didn’t just train the dogs—she taught *us* how to work with them, which made all the difference. Our dogs responded right away, and she left us with clear, manageable “homework” to keep building on that progress until our next session. What really stands out is her holistic approach. She took the time to understand our entire pack dynamic as well as Pixie’s unique personality. Her methods are rooted in kindness, a dog's desire to please. She worked with each dog’s mental aptitude, which we deeply appreciate. It’s so refreshing compared to fear-based techniques—and best of all, it truly works. We originally hired Faw just for Pixie, but now we’re excited to continue working with her for all of our dogs. This has been a total game changer, and surprisingly simple to follow. We can’t recommend her highly enough!

Frequently asked questions about Dog Training on Rover

To list on Rover, trainers must:

Pass a third-party background check

Show proof of education or certification in dog training

Commit to rewards-based training

Rewards-based training encourages dogs to offer desired behaviors by reinforcing the behavior with something the dog likes, including treats, play, or toys. Rewards-based training prioritizes using the least intrusive intervention; it promotes thinking rather than punishing mistakes.

When rewards are used, the likelihood the behavior is repeated increases. The positive connection to the reward results in making learning enjoyable, strengthens the human-animal bond and over time leads to consistent desired behaviors.

Training can happen many places — your home, a park, a store, or anywhere else that you and your trainer decide is best for the training you are doing! Many trainers will recommend training in your home. This allows them to observe your dog in their natural environment so they can effectively assess and best help reach your training goals.

Trainers will often mention on their profile where they typically hold training sessions, but you can always contact a trainer to learn more!

No problem! When you initially contact a trainer, you will be prompted to select a proposed first session date — this is not final, and is confirmed only if both parties decide to move forward. We also recommend contacting multiple trainers to make sure you find a trainer that is the right fit for you and your pet.

Of course! Having a trainer that is the right fit for both you and your pup is an important step to reaching your training goals. We recommend reaching out to any trainer that interests you. Your initial request is not final until both you and the trainer decide you want to move forward with booking.

Also, trainers may offer or require consultations. Make sure to ask trainers so you can make the best decision for you and your pet.

Many trainers on Rover indicate experience in a wide range of behaviors, from puppy training to more advanced behaviors and training types.

Review a trainer's profile to see if their experience aligns with your needs, and if you have questions, don't hesitate to contact them to ensure they're the right trainer for you and your pet.
