Jess G.
“Jess is one of the better dog trainers I've met. She's always learning and trying new things. Where as most would come complacent with training she is always honing and improving her abilities and skills. My dog has problems with motivation and instead of giving up, Jess is always trying to find away to get through to her and I've seen immense improvements since her working with my dog (Popsicle)”
Jennifer M.

“Jen has been an excellent trainer! Very patient and sends detailed instructions and tips to ensure my dog follows all commands she is taught. Highly recommend!”
Dominic K.

“We were blown away by Dominic! He *really* knew what he was doing, got so much accomplished in one session, and taught not just our dog but our family. We feel so much more confident about our new dog after meeting with him. We have another session booked.”

About: I love bully breeds and specialize in them as well. All my adult life I have owned bully breeds. My latest 2 are American bullies and they are littermates. It is not an easy task to train littermates but with a sound plan, hard work and dedication anything can happen. Let me help you train your dog to be the best it can be.
Brad P.

“Brad is a wonderful trainer. He is very patient, both with my pup and me! I am so thankful to his help with leash behavior, addressing issues of separation anxiety and integration of our dog into our multi-cat household. He is very responsive and answers questions thoughtfully. He is a gem!”
Jess F.

“Very knowledgeable, helped fill in the gaps of what I needed to help train my puppy. Prompt and very helpful.”
Olivia G.

“Over all EXCELLENT! Very patient. Very knowledgeable.”
Thomas B.
“Tommy has been a Godsend to me. I thought that maybe I was just too old to have a young dog, but he showed me how to work with Gunnar in the simplest way that has totally changed our lives. The difference in our walks is nothing short of amazing, but the impact is felt in the home too. He is always available for questions and support, and I love watching his videos for reminders, tips and tricks. I would and do recommend training with Tommy to everyone. My daughter-in-law took his classes and was equally thrilled. Most importantly, Gunnar loves and trust Tommy too!”
Anneli F.

“The session went very well. Anneli gained my dogs trust easily. Her dog knowledge was very good. Tips for working with our dog very helpful. Would recommend.”
Lindsay R.
“I was very impressed with Lindsay’s professional dog training knowledge and her ability to bond with Rusty. She gave me some helpful advice and I am looking forward to her training session.”
Imani O.
About: I do not discriminate against any breed, or aggressive dogs. I have had ten years of experience working with dogs and spent two of them shadowing other trainers and learning what techniques work for me and what does not.
Hannah S.

“Hannah is great! She taught Maddie and I a bunch of things in our first session and was very patient with both of us. I'll definitely be doing future sessions with her!”
Jaclyn S.
“I have always had a very pleasant experience working with Jaclyn. She helped me set my puppy up for success in our home and family.”
Liceth Dominique B.

“I was really disappointed with my experience. I paid $93 for a consultation that could have easily been done over the phone. During the session, the trainer didn’t even interact with my dog and basically just asked me questions from a pre-filled questionnaire. At the end, I was given two training plans that felt generic and AI-generated, rather than personalized to my dog. Overall, I felt like I didn’t get the value I expected and would not recommend this service.”
Karen H.
“I have two high-drive dogs, a Border Collie and a German Shepherd. I used her services to watch my dogs. Not only did they fall in love with her, but they listened to all her instructions. She showed me the correct way to handle them. I used to worry so much when we went out of town, now I feel very confident when Mrs K is with our pups.”
Jose I.
“Wow! What an amazing trainer. Jose really knew how to help me handle my two LARGE dogs! I started off being dragged around and ended with what felt like a tranquil stroll with my pups. Jose helped me understand how to communicate with my dogs and create a sense of trust for them in me, and it has completely shifted the energy of my home and our walks. Not only am I happy with Jose's impact, but I can tell my dogs are happy too! Thank you Jose!”
Laura S.

“Laura is great, patient, and knowledgeable. Our dog immediately reacted positively to her training. Highly recommend!”

About: My focus is on giving pet owners the ability to train their dogs from the comfort of their own home through virtual training. Although there are benefits to both in-person and at-home training, for certain dogs the training process goes a lot smoother when there aren't as many outside factors in the picture, as well as owners having the ability to get dog training without the stress of having to work around schedules and times to leave the house. I want to bring the same beneficial training to you right from your home!
Kirk P.
“Kirk was attentive, had great communication, and was professional. I highly recommend him if you are looking for a good dog trainer. I can see the difference in the walk already and I really needed a change of experience with the doggo. Thanks Kirk!”
Taylor H.

“Taylor has an excellent rapport with my dog. He took to her immediately and every training session we’ve learned at least two new things that stay with him after she’s gone.”
FAQs
Frequently asked questions about Dog Training on Rover
To list on Rover, trainers must:
Pass a third-party background check
Show proof of education or certification in dog training
Commit to rewards-based training
Rewards-based training encourages dogs to offer desired behaviors by reinforcing the behavior with something the dog likes, including treats, play, or toys. Rewards-based training prioritizes using the least intrusive intervention; it promotes thinking rather than punishing mistakes.
When rewards are used, the likelihood the behavior is repeated increases. The positive connection to the reward results in making learning enjoyable, strengthens the human-animal bond and over time leads to consistent desired behaviors.
Training can happen many places — your home, a park, a store, or anywhere else that you and your trainer decide is best for the training you are doing! Many trainers will recommend training in your home. This allows them to observe your dog in their natural environment so they can effectively assess and best help reach your training goals.
Trainers will often mention on their profile where they typically hold training sessions, but you can always contact a trainer to learn more!
No problem! When you initially contact a trainer, you will be prompted to select a proposed first session date — this is not final, and is confirmed only if both parties decide to move forward. We also recommend contacting multiple trainers to make sure you find a trainer that is the right fit for you and your pet.
Of course! Having a trainer that is the right fit for both you and your pup is an important step to reaching your training goals. We recommend reaching out to any trainer that interests you. Your initial request is not final until both you and the trainer decide you want to move forward with booking.
Also, trainers may offer or require consultations. Make sure to ask trainers so you can make the best decision for you and your pet.
Many trainers on Rover indicate experience in a wide range of behaviors, from puppy training to more advanced behaviors and training types.
Review a trainer's profile to see if their experience aligns with your needs, and if you have questions, don't hesitate to contact them to ensure they're the right trainer for you and your pet.
