14. Lucile K.
“This is my wife, but I have raised over 20 happy, long living dogs in my lifetime (among other animals) and from my best ability to be objective on the matter. My wife is wonderful with cats and dogs. Always accommodating towards your cherished member of the family, and always willing to go above and beyond to understand your pet. Here is a few testimonials I have towards my wife's ability to look after your animals. I'll try to keep the bias to a minimum. Before me and my wife were married, and living together. I was living in a 2 bedroom apartment in Los Angeles with a friend. At that time we had 3 cats including my cat (her name is Sisyphus). One cat belonged to my roomate/best friend (his name was Black Tom), another cat belonged to another friend who needed help housing her while his housing situation was turbulent (her name was Scarlet). Me, and my roommate often were working/running errands well over 14 hours+ a day, leading to times where we were not home to check up on our cats. This lead to the house being pure chaos when we got home. We had scratched furniture, shredded up toilet paper, chewed up plants, cat pee everywhere, and our cats always had a new series of bite and scratch marks. This is where my wife comes in. I asked her while she was at the apartment living with us (she was working from home at the time) to watch the cats, and just make sure they aren't at each other's neck. My wife was able to take care of all 3 cats, from cleaning up their litter boxes, feeding them at set schedules, making sure they didnt destory the funiture, while making sure to keep an eye on any situations that could escalate into any of the 3 cats hurting one another along with giving all 3 of them baths. Now my cat is generally very skittish, I'm assuming it is because she went through abuse before I adopted her off of the street. She generally takes months to warm up to new people, along with a new enviroment on top of 2 other cats. After around 4 days of my wife watching my cat. I could not get my cat away from my wife. They were best friends, and I often came home to see them both on the couch together. My cat laying peacefully on my wife. This has never happened before with my cat with anyone aside from myself. My cat also became less skittish, and less overwhelmed towards new people. Even Scarlet who was sort of the big bully cat, ended up mellowing out in her interactions with the other two cats. Our 3rd cat Black Tom was an adolescent cat no more than around 1 year and 3 months old. He had a plethora of energy, very destructive kitten energy. He used to bother our other two cats just so that they would chase him in an attempt to play. I'm assuming this lead to situations where things would escalate into a full on cat fight before my wife was watching them. My wife noticed this, and without me asking made sure to keep him occupied by playing with him until he tired himself out. The 3 cats absolutely loved my wife, and still do to this very day. Even tho now they live in their own separate happy homes, I'm honestly surprised on how well my wife handled that chaotic situation. The litter boxes were always clean, and our cats were always properly accommodated. (And as for the cats today, all of them are alive and healthy. My cat now lives with my parents because my allergies were getting worse, Black Tom lives peacefully with his owner, along with scarlet) Now when it comes to dogs, I don't really have as big or detailed of a personal testimonial, aside from the times where my wife interacted with my parents dogs. My wife helped take care of 8 dogs (my parents had a lot) and my wife was equally as accommodating dispite there being no huge behavioral issues with them. My wife made sure to watch them, feed them at the alloted times, break up any fights, interact with them, and even walk them (despite them not being walked normally since my parents are older, and live with a huge backyard in the countryside) I can't think of someone I know personally more willing, and eager to watch after your animals.”
