“We had a great experience with Ashley and Amber watching over our house and our babies! They communicated great, shared so many cute photos and left the house in great condition. Would 1000% trust our world with them again and recommend to anyone in the area ❤️❤️”

About: I’ve taken care of sweet dogs, fearful dogs, young dogs, old dogs, sick dogs, high energy and couch potato dogs. All dogs like me and I like them. We snuggle on the couch, play and take naps. I don’t take large dogs anymore unless they are seniors. I’m retired and I live a quiet life. I love all animals and enjoy their company. Pet sitting is not a chore for me - it’s a joy. I’m home most of the day so your pet won’t be lonely. Your dogs are royalty at my house. Don’t expect discipline. They play, nap, get snacks (according to what you bring) watch TV, go on leash for potty breaks. If they need a schedule for meals or meds- no problem. What they get from me is ATTENTION.

About: I grew up taking care of dogs and spending time with other animals such as birds, reptiles and rodents. When I was a 10 years old my father and I partnered together to train a service dog for a family friend. I am an expert in animal behavior and training. As I got older I have been a very reliable and trust worthy person my family and friends have depended on for pet care. I can provide affordable, quality pet care for both dogs and cats. I promise my utmost attention and excellent care to each pet I sit. I am working a part time job and actively taking college courses. I am available for house sitting Sat-Tues, however I work Wed-Fri only being available in the evenings for sitting. I understand how important safety is to every pet owner. I do not board pets but I will take every precaution to ensure your home and pet are safe and secure.
About: I’ve been a dog lover for all of my life and have always had a dog near my side. My Great Dane was my best friend until she passed away at 9 last year. I love helping trains dogs and have a great record for training and obedience. I understand how important it is to find someone reliable and understanding to take care of a best friend. I go to school in the mornings and I’m usually available in the afternoons and the weekends with a little notice. My schedule can be very flexible as needed. I have a fenced in backyard. I have three dogs, ages 8,12,12. My three dogs are range from 10 pounds to 100 pounds so I am familiar with taking care of dogs both old and young and small and large. I will follow any specific rules or needs for any client.
“Jaclyn was awesome! She was caring, attentive and loving with our 2 boys Teddy & Murphy in an our home while we were away! She communicated with us throughout her stay, send pics and videos! We are so happy and grateful to have found Jaclyn and we know our boys are in great hands! We look forward to our next adventure and knowing our boys are safe and sound and happy!!”

“Anna house sitting for my three fur babies, two cats and one very shy and anxious dog. Our dog took right to her. She gave us updates to calm our worries. I would definitely recommend her.”

“My wife and I are new to the area and needed to go away for a few days, we have used Rover in the past so that is where I headed and once again, we got so lucky in finding Cheyenne!! Oh my gosh did our "Boys" fall in love immediately and we could see Cheyenne's overwhelming love for them as well. Our days away were filled with updates constantly and photos which put us at ease! We would recommend Cheyenne to anyone but selfishly we don't want her to get too busy for when we have a need again!”

“I interviewed a couple people for drop-in services for my cat, Keesa and decided to book Landry because Keesa didn't hide from her! They were comfortable with each other, and as a cat mom, that's important because it means Keesa wouldn't be stressed. Landry was good with her. She texted me every time she came in and sent pictures. I recommend Landry, and would request again if needed.”

“Joanna did an excellent job watching our house and kitties. She provided updates and photos often. The house was clean and in great shape when we returned. We will definitely use her again in the future.”

About: Hi! My name is Jordan, and I would be honored to be your pet sitter. I am a passionate animal lover with experience providing both overnight/in-home pet sitting and drop-in visits for walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship. I have had a blast caring for my neighbors’ dogs, friends’ pets, and other local families' furry companions. Through positive experiences and word-of-mouth referrals, I have continued to gain pet-sitting opportunities by networking and building relationships within my community. In addition to pet sitting, I have hands-on experience potty training puppies from raising two of my own. I am also especially comfortable working with anxious dogs, as I have an anxious dog myself and understand the patience, consistency, and reassurance they need to feel safe and comfortable. I take pride in making sure every dog feels happy, loved, and well cared for while their owners are away, and I treat each pet as if they were my own. I am currently working a very flexible job, so I would have lots of time to check on your pups! I have pretty much full availability for the summer except for one trip from June 29 through July 2. When caring for pets in my home or in a client's home, my top priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while maintaining their normal routine as closely as possible. I provide plenty of attention, playtime, exercise, potty breaks, fresh water, and feeding according to the owner's instructions. I also make sure pets receive lots of affection and companionship so they feel secure while their family is away. I have experience caring for dogs of different ages and personalities, including puppies who are still learning routines and anxious dogs who may need extra patience and reassurance. Because I have raised two puppies and have an anxious dog of my own, I understand the importance of consistency, positive reinforcement, and individualized care. Communication is extremely important to me. I value keeping owners updated with messages, photos, and check-ins, and I want pet parents to feel confident that their dog is receiving excellent care. I always follow the owner's preferences and instructions, and I make sure any decisions regarding their pet are discussed with them whenever possible. My goal is to work as a team with each owner to ensure every choice is in the best interest of their pup's health, happiness, and well-being.
About: I care for animals as if they are my own and have experience with a wide variety of dogs. I also volunteer at the humane society once per month. I work from home so am able to give my own animals, and yours, the love and attention that they deserve while you are away. Walks, pets or treats - I'm here to spoil them! I typically have a flexible schedule. I am home most weekdays and weeknights to do drop ins, short walks, car rides and an occasional pet/house sit! I have a fenced yard and animals are monitored while in the yard. Yard is well maintained and pleasant for animals to play or sunbathe.
“Katia, was wonderful from our first meet and greet meeting. Skylar wagged her tail immediately when Katia entered the court yard. She provided so many pictures and videos of Skylar. We felt at ease with her watching our fur baby. She stayed overnight for 6 nights and everything went very well. We will be using Rover again when Skylar can’t go on the road trip.”

Jaclyn took wonderful care of my dog, Murphy, for two evenings. She was incredibly attentive, asked thoughtful questions, and kept me updated with the sweetest pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind. It made our time away from home far more enjoyable knowing Murphy was in such good hands. I would absolutely use Jaclyn again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter.

Hands down the best dogsitter we ever had on Rover! Jackie (Jaclyn) dogsitted for us for 3 nights during our stay in Sea Island Resorts. She is very detailed in terms of communication with me and caring for dogs. She is also responsible and intelligent, which made the whole sitting experience even more smooth and worry-free. Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Sea Island on Rover is $42.8 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sea Island walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sea Island maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sea Island choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
