About: I've had dogs ever since I was a kid. Now I have my own dog that I am training to be a service dog and it is going very well. I have also helped train other dogs too. I also regularly go-to animal shelters and spend time with dogs still trying to find a home and help socialize them. I work part time at the Zoo so sometimes I am working a full day. I take my dog to daycare at least once a week to help him socialize and get out more since he is the only dog I have. I do have a lot of exotic animals plus my ferrets that I take care of daily before bed. Especially with the ferrets I make sure they get out and play enough. Your dog will always be supervised indoors and outdoors. I am confident in handling any situation that might happen even if it's navigating helping a nervous or stressed animal.

About: As someone who frequently pet sits for neighbors and friends, I have a lot of experience with many different kinds of furry friends. My neighbors frequently relied on me to feed and clean up after their 7 cats as they would go out of town often. Furthermore, I also pet sat 3 horses a few times for some friends leaving town. As a dog owner of 3 for 10+ years, I also have much experience with hyperactive, excitable dogs. Lastly, I had a bunny for 5 years, so I also have a lot of experience with small pets as well. I’m currently looking for a part-time schedule in the summer to pet sit. I am available to pet sit overnight with enough notice, stay for a few hours at a time, take care of animals at my home, or go on walks. I have a fenced yard and two playful beagles to keep your furry friends company. Depending on what kind of animal you and what they prefer will also dictate where they will be. But you can trust they will feel right at home.

About: What makes me different from other pet sitters is the level of care, patience, and attention I give to every pet I meet. I understand that pets are family, and I treat them with the same love and respect I would give my own. I take the time to learn each pet's personality, routine, and unique needs. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or shy and reserved, I adjust my care to help them feel comfortable and secure. I believe every pet deserves individualized attention. I am dependable and take my responsibilities seriously. I know how important trust is when leaving your pet in someone else's care. I prioritize your pet's safety and well-being at all times. I enjoy spending quality time with animals and making sure they feel loved while their owners are away. I am patient with pets that may need extra reassurance or special attention. I provide plenty of affection, playtime, and companionship. I also make sure pets stay on their normal routines as much as possible. I understand that consistency helps pets feel relaxed and happy. I pay close attention to details and follow care instructions carefully. Communication is very important to me. I provide updates, photos, and messages so pet parents can feel at ease while they are away. I want you to know that your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for. I genuinely enjoy building relationships with both pets and their owners. I am committed to creating a positive experience for everyone involved. I am reliable, organized, and responsive. I believe that clear communication helps create a positive experience for both pets and their families. I am happy to discuss visit times, walking schedules, and other care needs in advance. In a client's home, I work to maintain the pet's normal routine as much as possible. I know that pets are often most comfortable in their familiar environment, so I make sure they receive consistent care, attention, and companionship while their owners are away. About: I have been caring for pets for more than 10 years, I belonged to shelters so I have experience even with aggressive animals, I love animals for this reason I respect and value them and I think they deserve the same respect and affection as human beings. I like to take care of animals even if they are not mine and I am very sure of giving them the attention and care they deserve since I am born to do it and I enjoy it and I know that people can rest assured that their pets are in my hands. Like everyone else, I need an income, but I need to study English since it is very basic, which is why I can take care of your pet during the day or at night at my home and on weekends. It is perfect since I can adjust the times to be able to work and study and do the two things that I love so much, which is why it is perfect for my day to day life. Your pet can walk freely as it adapts to my home. I will take it for a walk 2 to 3 times depending on the time of care and I will give it its food, games and itself and lots of love and above all I will take very good care of it. Any new home for them is something difficult and they will always need time to trust but I can assure you that I will earn that trust so that they feel happy and calm.

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and can’t imagine life without them! I’ve had my own dog for 5 years now and there aren’t many days we don’t go on our daily walk. While living abroad, I also helped walk and dog sit for my neighbor whenever she was away. I treat every pup like they’re my own and make sure they get plenty of love, care, and attention. Right now I have a very flexible schedule, which means I can easily fit in walks, drop-ins, or overnight care throughout the week. I love spending time outdoors and with dogs, so I make pet care a regular part of my day. As my schedule changes down the road, I’ll be sure to keep my availability up to date so you always know when I’m open for bookings. When I’m caring for pets in their own home, I always follow their usual routine to help them feel comfortable and secure. I make sure to respect your space and keep things just the way you like them. Whether it’s feeding, walks, or playtime, I stick to your pet’s normal schedule and give them plenty of attention and care while you’re away.

About: I always have been around cats and dogs all of my life. I first started to volunteer at San Antonio Humane Society in 2021 and previously wanted to start a career in Vet Med but decided to switch to Forensic Science. I’ve learned how to work with sick patients, surgery after care, medication administration, pet diabetes, reactive pets, and even can help with livestock cleaning and feeding ^~^ I am currently between jobs and can do multiple daily check ins / walking. Im always fostering kittens at home so I am definitely constantly moving ^~^ When I care for your fur babies in your home, I will always keep in touch with you on their condition and will let you know if anything happens ASAP. If there are medications to be administered I will keep a written log of time and date it was given. On top of that I always monitor daily water and food intake to see if there is any changes that may occur.

FAQs for Dog Walking - Poteet

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 1,578 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Poteet. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Poteet. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Poteet.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Poteet. On Rover:

  • 88% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
