“We were a bit apprehensive about leaving our 2-year-old Cavapoo, Ollie, with a sitter for the first time, but Sylvia put our minds at ease the moment we met her. She is incredibly caring and attentive. I loved receiving the photo updates showing Ollie happy and enjoying his stay—it meant I didn't have to worry about him at all! I can’t recommend Sylvia enough for anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter.”

“Staying with Kelly and her family was perfect for Eva. She and Kelly’s dog, Charlie had a great time together. Just as I had hoped, she was totally wiped out from all the running and playing.”

“AIKO had a little separation anxiety and was quickly loved and preoccupied and went on with his stay .. there were numerous updates and quick response to any questions that I had concerning AIKO stay ! “Carlie was a pleasure to work with and was super communicative with me for our Goldens care...She was also flexible and understanding when an unexpected sickness arose (which was not related to her care in any way) Would recommend her and will use her again for sure!”

“These guys are outstanding! Susan gave me so much confidence socializing my dog. Dogs of all sizes are there and Susan takes care of each one of them with kindness and love. She is an absolute expert. Would highly recommend Susan and Bob. We will be taking our dog back there for all our play dates and long trips.”

“Debbie (and Tim) were so welcoming to our Jackson during a family beach trip. We were in need of sitting and boarding for a week and were lucky to have found them. They were easy to communicate and coordinate with for drop-off and pick-up. We even got a great tip from them to visit a local preserve with walking trails for Jackson (and kayaking on the Bay for our kids). Most importantly, Jackson had a great time with both of them. He didn't even want to leave 😂! Thanks for making his stay so wonderful and look forward to coming back on a future trip!”

“Jill T. is a wonderful sitter for our Pomeranian Lily. I never worry when Lily is with her! I would recommend her to any of my friends and family if they were in need of a dog sitter.”

“Debra was incredibly sweet. This was a last minute booking with the holidays 1-2 days away. Debra was incredibly responsive throughout he process. She took our dog on frequent walks, provided photos/videos and updates how he was doing. Simply put, we couldn’t have asked for more. We’d definitely recommend.”

“Kate was great at communicating and keeping me updated about my kitty and my dog. She extended my their stay twice at my request. And her daughter's provided lots of love and attention.”

“Kathy was wonderful and accommodating to my Lily. I was so happy and felt at ease leaving Lily with Kathy. Sadie, Kathy’s pup, was a great fit with Lily. They got along with no problems at all. I would definitely recommend Kathy for pet sitting to everyone!”

“Gabrielle was great! I had to book last-minute and she was able to take my reservation on short notice, and she was great with my dog. She took her on multiple walks over the stay and when I came to pick Bug up she was happy and well taken care of”

“Thanks Beth and Ron for the great job in taking care of Miley. It was great to get the updates on how she was doing and I’m sure she had a blast playing with Daisy. We would highly recommend you to anyone!”

“Liane was exceptional! She took great care of Bentley! She was extremely responsive and checked in with me every day - I knew Bentley was in great hands! Bentley has several medicines that he has to take and she handled it with no issue. I would definitely book with Liane again!”

About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I've never been without a pet, so caring for them is second nature. For many years I also volunteered as a foster, which taught me how to help nervous, shy, or recovering animals settle in and feel safe. Professionally, I'm a Registered Nurse. That means I'm comfortable giving oral medications, sticking to precise feeding and medication schedules, and noticing subtle changes in behavior, appetite, or energy that could signal a problem. Senior pets, special-needs pets, and animals recovering from surgery are in especially good hands with me. You'll get detailed updates and photos, and I'll follow your routine exactly as you'd do it yourself. My goal is simple: your pet stays calm and comfortable, and you get real peace of mind. I run my own care consulting business, so I have flexibility in my day and can plan visits around your pet's routine rather than squeezing them in. I keep a structured, organized schedule — a habit from nursing — so feedings, walks, and medications happen on time, every time. I'll confirm availability before each booking so I can give your pet my full attention. Your pet's safety is my top priority. My home has a fully fenced-in yard, so dogs can play, explore, and take potty breaks securely without ever being off-leash in an open area. I share my home with Murphy, my well-trained Goldendoodle. He's gentle and submissive, which makes him an easygoing companion for visiting dogs, including shy or nervous ones. He also has his own crate, so I can give each pet individual time and attention and keep things calm when a guest needs space.
About: Ive been taking care of little to small pups ever since a little girl. Our family has had breeds anywhere from chihuahuas to lab to boxer. Im looking forward to meeting new pups, as well as giving them the exercise and cuddles they need or desire. If you have any specific questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out anytime! I love puppies, so anytime is puppy time. But, I'm currently available only early mornings, mid day and evenings. I do have a child at home so that will have to be taken into consideration. I work a 8-4 schedule, but I am free to leave if I absolutely need to. I can definitely do grooming. Your pet will be fed based on owners normal schedule. Dogs can be let out ever 2-6 hours depending on availability. Any rule you apply for your pet to adhere to, I will delegate that.

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and my family currently has four, so I’ve had lots of hands-on experience caring for them over the years. I’m a huge animal lover and I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, playtime, potty breaks, and giving dogs plenty of attention and affection. I understand that every dog has their own personality and routine, and I’ll always follow your instructions carefully and treat your pet with the same care I give my family’s dogs. I’m a college student with a flexible schedule, and I’m happy to make time for pet care around my classes and other commitments. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and plenty of attention. I’ll always communicate clearly about my availability and make sure your pet gets the care and time they need. I will always treat your pet and home with care and respect. I’m comfortable following specific feeding, walking, crate, and daily routine instructions, and I’ll make sure doors, gates, and leashes are secure at all times. I’ll give your pet plenty of attention and can also send updates and photos so you know they’re safe and happy while you’re away.
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Oak Orchard
Neena and her husband were great. Chooch walked right in with them like she’d known them her whole life, and Neena updated me after she settled in. She did great with their pets but had a reaction to another client’s dog. Neena handled the situation quickly, safely, and with understanding and kindness. Would absolutely recommend for the right dog.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Oak Orchard home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Oak Orchard.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Oak Orchard sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in DE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
