When dogs stay with me, I follow their usual routines carefully, including walks, feeding schedules, and any special instructions. There are great walking areas nearby, and I make sure your dog gets plenty of attention, comfort, and love during their stay. Whether it’s a short visit or a longer stay, your pup will be in caring and capable hands.

Over: I grew up with a gentle St. Bernard, who was not only my first dog but also a lasting influence on my personality—slow-paced, observant, and mild-tempered, just like her. Taking care of her from puppyhood through old age taught me patience, responsibility, and how to communicate with animals on their terms. In recent years, my husband and I have spent our summers (every year except this one) at a country house in Sweden, where we live with three dogs: a Chow Chow, a French Bulldog, and a Pug. Each has their own quirks and needs, and I’ve become attuned to managing different breeds—from the independent and aloof to the affectionate and energetic. Daily routines include feeding, walking, grooming, playtime, and health monitoring, all of which have deepened my understanding of canine behaviour and strengthened my bond with animals. I’m a PhD student at the university, so apart from occasional meetings with my supervisors, I have full control over my schedule. This flexibility allows me to do light work—such as reading or answering emails—while keeping the dogs company, and to take them on regular walks. Having dogs around brings warmth to my day and keeps me active, especially when I’m home alone. I provide them a place to feel comfortable and relaxed while trying to activate them by going on walks, teaching them trick etc. I adapt my approach depending on the pet’s temperament and routine, and I always take time to build trust. In my flat (and especially at our country house in Sweden), I care for multiple dogs of different breeds, so I’m comfortable managing feeding schedules, daily walks, playtime, grooming, and giving medication if needed. I also pay attention to their emotional needs—some want constant company, others prefer space. I respect both.

Over: Toen mijn man Bjorn en ik net samen waren hebben wij een hond geadopteerd van 7 jaar. Een dwergpincher met een enorme wil en een rugzakje. Wij hebben 6 jaar van hem mogen genieten totdat we helaas afscheid van hem moesten nemen toen ik hoogzwanger was van onze eerste. Ons idee van een kind opvoeden met hond viel daarmee een beetje in het water. Toen onze zoon 3 maanden was hebben we daarom gekozen voor een Engelse bulldog pup. Een schat van een beest, die na lange training en alle mogelijke manieren proberen toch echt niet bij de huidige staat van ons gezin pastte. Met pijn in ons hart hebben we een nieuw gezin voor hem gevonden waar hij enorm gelukkig is. We ontvangen nog steeds foto's en filmpjes van ons mannetje. De liefde voor honden en de wens om onze kinderen te leren hoe je om gaat met honden blijft en daarom passen we graag op jouw hond op! We genieten van de tijd samen met een hond, kunnen door het oppassen alle liefde die we hebben voor honden kwijt bij de oppashonden. De hond gaat mee in onze dagelijkse bezigheden. Het ophalen en wegbrengen van de kinderen hoort daar ook bij, met de auto of lopend. Net wat het beste bij de hond past. We wonen vlak langs een dijk en dichtbij een park waar we graag gaan wandelen. Ik werk thuis en kan daarom er altijd zijn voor de hond. We hebben een omheinde tuin en genoeg ruimte voor de hond om te spelen en uit te razen. We hebben alle spullen (mand, voer en waterbak, speeltjes, koekjes) in huis naast dat er altijd natuurlijk zelf nog dingen meegegeven kunnen worden.

Over: Hoi hoi, ik heb bij mijn ouders thuis altijd een hond gehad. Hier speelde ik met plezier mee en liep ik vaak een rondje. Nu ik in Alkmaar woon zou ik het leuk vinden om af en toe een rondje met een hond te wandelen! Door de weeks werk in in de kinderopvang. Ik werk vaak 4 dagen, de andere dagen ben ik beschikbaar om een rondje met uw hond te lopen of meer. Bij mijn ouders behandelen wij onze hond met liefde. Altijd gezellig om dieren om je heen te hebben. Natuurlijk zal ik ook met respect met uw dier omgaan en hoor ik graag wat de beste verzorgingsmethode is!

Over: Sinds dat ik klein was hield ik veel van dieren. We hebben lovebirds, valkparkieten, een hond, een schildpad, baardagaam. We hadden vroeger ook cavia's gehad. Mijn taken thuis zijn om de vogelvolière schoon te maken, mijn hond uit te laten en de dieren voeding te geven. We zijn nu ook bezig met het broeden van de vogeleitjes van de lovebirds. Het is nu zomervakantie dus sta ik rond 8:00 op om mijn hond uit te laten. Ik vul daarna zijn voerbak. Ik doe mijn dagelijkse dingen. Ondertussen speel ik met mijn hond of kijken we samen op de bank televisie. Rond 12:00 ga ik weer een rondje wandelen met mijn hond. Om 18:00 krijgt mijn hond een warme maaltijd (pate) met worst. Daarna kijken we weer samen televisie op de bank of spelen we met elkaar. Om 22:30 ga ik weer mijn hond uitlaten. Daarna ga ik naar bed. Tijdens dat ik thuis ben staat onze deur naar de achtertuin altijd open zodat mijn hond altijd zijn behoeftes kan doen. Ik laat de honden uit. Ik geef ze voeding en aandacht. Ik vind het leuk om met dieren te spelen. Ik vind het leuk om met een bal te gooien met mijn hond. Of met een trektouw te spelen.
