I grew up with dogs, mostly border collies and poodles, and one of the poodles is 15 now. I understand dogs need mental stimulation, activity, and older dogs need gentle care, frequent outside potty breaks, and specific food. Taking care of animals, especially dogs, is one of the only times where I can't think of anywhere else to be, or anything else I need to be doing.

In my own home, there are two border collies and one old poodle. I do a lot of obedience training with the border collies. I also spend a lot of time with them outside so they get enough exercise and play. For the older poodle, I and my other family members, make her specific meals that keep her sensitive teeth and tummy in mind. She also needs to pee on the hour, so I always make sure I'm attentive to her schedule. I love my dogs and I love knowing their different quirks and personalities. I'm very good with other people's pets, especially dogs and cats.
