Unfortunately, this was not a match for Allie and I. I was very clear in the meeting that, "feel free to use anything in the kitchen, but please be an adult and clean up after yourself". Unfortunately, the counters were a mess and there were dirty dishes in the sink, with a pan with such scorch marks that I'm still trying to clean it. Communication was okay and photos were sent. Also let Allie go out front without a leash, when I was also very specific about, "she won't run away, and I sometimes let her out without a leash under my watchful eye, so she won't go far if she got out...but I require all of my dog sitters to please use the leash or harness depending on their comfort level". If there was another dog or an animal, this could have been bad - so I do consider this a safety concern. Thirdly, I was clear that, "you may have visitors, but no get party togethers, and I'd like to be informed in case I see strangers on the doorbell camera" which is common courtesy when you're housesitting. There was a person that was not Zoe that was seen in my home and I wasn't informed about. I wanted to like Zoe and have a lot of upcoming work for her and her summer, but perhaps she'd be a better fit for someone else who is perhaps way more casual about their space and dog (and I thought I was casual). Super bummed, this is my first subpar Rover review. Hopefully this gets read and corrected for other clients in the future.
